I am still unable to progress past menu book 1. I spent $90 on this game and three updates later I still haven’t been able to go past the first ****ing book. This is absolutely infuriating.

Transmission settings are not saving. As soon as a race is started, all gears except "top gear" revert to their original configuration. This leaves all the lower gears crammed together with an extremely large divide separating 4th from 5th on 5-spd cars or 5th from 6th in 6-spd cars. As soon as top gear is selected during the race, all acceleration stops. Going back into transmission settings shows the screwed up gear configuration, but, and this is the really messed up part, top gear is much wider than configured. I set it to 340, balance 1st-5th, start the race which messes up the gearing, exit race, lookcat transmission settings and not only are 1st-5th all crammed down at the beginning of the chart, 6th is now at 419.
Nevermind the settings are still in kph when I have selected mph as my unit of measurement. I expected this to be resolved by now. AS AN AMERICAN I DO NOT THINK IN METRIC. Surely I'm not the only one.
Not exactly happy with tire performance either. I have a 300HP AWD car with racing-soft tires and a 50/50 torque split. Anything beyond 5% throttle in top gear going around a large bend like Daytona or Blue Moon results in me losing traction IN THE REAR and oversteering. This configuration shouldn't even be able to loose grip. EVER! It should handle like it's on rails, but instead it acts like a 2,000lb 2,000HP RWD on Comfort-Soft.
Polyphony has never released something this screwed up. I was under the impression we waited years for GT7, and waited even longer so Polyphony could get it right. I'm all for that, and if handled like Sport, don't mind getting part of the game on release day and getting the rest via incremental updates, but this? What a cluster-****.
What changed Polyphony? This is so out of character. Did you drop your highly paid, well educated, and experienced developers in favor of teenagers who had a computer class once? ...sure feels like it. Feels like a whole bunch of copy/paste by someone who doesn't comprehend code. Sport displayed transmission settings in mph if mph was selected as units, why not 7? Why hasn't this most simple of changes such as this been addressed? Better yet, why wasn't this found during testing? Maybe contrary to your post today about the reason for the outage, you actually don't test? Now that I'd beleive.
I've preordered or bought GT on launch day every release since 2. NEVER have you sold such a mess. In my eyes, never once have you even dropped the ball. Not this time though. This time it feels like you forgot what a ball is.
Even Prologue was closer to release quality than this...

So, because you get that error in GT7 you're sending your console for repair?...
The error code clearly states:
"There may be a problem with your application or console."
How do you know your console is the problem? Do any other games give you the very same error?
There are similar error codes even on PS4 when trying to start a daily race in sport mode, and the cause is not the PS4, but --> GT7 <--. Even if the error is "hardware".
None of my other games ever caused this issue since 2013.

Dear Gran Turismo 7 Team, Recently when I played during a race, my internet got disconnected and the game froze all of a sudden. I restarted the game to find my progress has been reset with collector level at level 2 (previously around level 15). My 42 cars are still there at garage. I can see my menu book history. I cannot do any race, except the music one. I have already got gold at every license, except S-5. Please help me, I am really desperate at the moment. Please bring back my profile progress

I’ve tried everything in the PlayStation troubleshooting and nothing worked. I don’t have issues with other games and I can play the ps4 version of the game on my ps5 just fine.
I’ve already contacted PlayStation in the beginning of this week and they told me to wait a few days. They haven’t got back to me and the two updates didn’t solve the issue.
I’m out of options really. Either I send to repair and they already told me that if they don’t find anything I’ll get my ps5 back with the same issue. The other alternative is to wait for a patch that solves the issue. This error could be software or hardware related.
My ps5 is still in the warranty period so there’s that as well. If there’s something wrong with the ps5 might as well get it fixed or replace while I still have warranty.
I know this is not what you want, but have you tried to create a different profile?

Yep same here, on my ‘main’ account I’m still stuck on book 4 with no way to progress.
It’s to the point I‘ve played the entire cafe on my second profile and given up hope on ever getting the ‘main’ back in action.

After winning a Daily race in Sport Mode, the game would sometime end up getting frozen which result in crashing. Happened to me 3 times today.

The more I read this thread, the more I realize that making Gran Turismo 7 always online was a last minute decision (that they had probably been discussing for a long time). The online-offline integration is almost completely broken in all aspects.
Oh well, at least there's a small glimmer of hope in them realizing just how busted their system is and patching it out.

when you open a lobby with all aids off, you have tcs 3 turned on and you can't turn it off. It is not possible to use the setup with the bop on in the lobbies.

My issue is I was hoping the 1.08 patch would have fixed it. When applying the paint color that I want in the livery editor. it'll say applying and stop at 30 go to 33 then back down to 30 and up to 33 percent continually.
The background music keeps playing and it says it's applying the paint but to no avail. I legitimately waited over 30 minutes to see if it would just brute force itself and still nothing. It just went back and forth between 30-33% I just want to change the paint color of any of my cars and it won't let me. This happening to anyone else or have any tips.

After 1.08 the game keeps crashing with error code CE-34878-0.
I think I'm going to stop playing this for a while. Hopefully there will be a decent game here in a few weeks.

Error code CE-34878-0 is usually, but not always, associated with a PlayStation hardware problem. Typically it’s a teeny bit of data corruption on the internal or external drive. But not always.
A complete low level reformatting and security overwrite of the hard drive worked for me a year or two ago. I had been plagued with CE-34878-0 errors which were killing an Assassins’ Creed game. Every few minutes.
After carefully backing everything up, I used my Mac to do a secure erase of the drive, overwriting every sector once. Then I restored everything and the PS4 has worked just fine ever since.
That said, CE-34878-0 is strange. It came back for many players (including me) in GT7 in the specific instance of taking a 16x9 aspect ratio Race photo on a PS4 Pro. PD has fixed this. Which makes it sound like it’s not always a hardware-caused error. But maybe it is. Maybe the code which produced those 16x9 photos stressed some specific PS4 Pro hardware and PD changed the way the code operated to get around the error. I wish I knew the full story.

first to fifth gear can't be increase max speed of each gear for example : fourth gear max 215 km/h fifth gear max 245 km/h not matter what i try to increaes my increase final drive or specific gear ratio is always stuck at the same max speed but when i adjust it down to lowest speed it actually work and only 6th gear is working properly both downward or upward.
this included quick adjustment on slide bar too.

The handbrake from my fully tuned Focus RS does not seem to work. I eventually bought the handbrake upgrade in the tuning shop, but does nothing either. Only front tires light up red in the indicator.
I then bought a new RS without tuning to compete in a league and that handbrake is working just fine.
Also my stickers are gone from my style for that car when I try to load it for either RS.

Idk if its me but when I play gts with no assist on controller and spin, if I make zero input on the controller it does not countersteer for me while im sliding
But when I play gt7 with no assist, spin and make zero input on the controller its countersterring for me and I turned off the assit
Or is this a normal thing
