It wouldn't be a case of them choosing to delete or exclude availalbe models it would be a licensing matter. If the license expired they can't use them for GT7 no matter how ready the car model is for GT7.
They can try in renewing that license, but it's no guarantee.

PD added the '92 NSX-R and not the '02 or '04 model. The DC5 Integra R hasn't made it in the game. Yet, we have the EK9 and DC2.

It is a matter of choice by PD. I doubt a licence to use the '04 S2000 ran out. So, that's why we they modelled the '99 S2000? I wouldn't think that's the case.

I do know licences run out. We don't know how long PD have licences for cars(we see TVR, but only one car. One Suzuki). However, we also found out brands(and circuits), not being paid a fair amount to be included or it costs a high amount to be put in the game.
I'm not sure if our wires are crossed, obviousely Polyphony choose which cars to model. We don't know what is and isn't missing from GT7 yet, it's not out. But we can assume that cars from GT Sport will make it into GT7 (licensing permitting) on the basis that we can also assume that the car models done for GT Sport at the higher LOD's used in the showrooms and photmode are the same models we see in GT7.

If that assumption is correct then the only reason models from GT Sport should not feature in GT7 is because the license has expired and they couldn't renew it (at least in time for launch).

Based on what the previous member quoted from me. I'd like to believe all the cars from GT Sport will port over, but including several cars I mentioned, even though PD took the time to model them, they could be deleted and replaced with newer models. Heck, I've even taken into account about the UCD.

I know we can wait and see what cars are in. I'm going off PD's unpredictability with car inclusion. Again, a brand like Mazda or let's say BMW. PD modelled the M5, yet that's not in GTS. I wouldn't believe a licence ran out for that. It's a car we've had in GT since GT4. Yet, PD gave us(finally) the E30 M3.

I think we had the '71 model A110? PD switched to the '72 model(or was it a Lotus?). Does a licence expire from one year to the next? I don't know. Just seems a weird thing to do.

They didn't model these cars for GT Sport though. You're talking about cars from earlier GT games that didn't carry over to GT Sport. That comes down to either licensing or choosing which cars to model.

The car models from GT5 and GT6 are not the same as the models in GT Sport. But from what we've seen of GT7 so far, it looks like the car models could be the same as the ones in GT Sport. I don't dissagree with the fact PD don't carry over every car from one game to the next, but where there are usable car models already present (see the premiums from GT5 carried over to GT6, car models from GT3 carried over to GT4, GT1 carried to GT2 etc.) it's quite rare that cars are dropped.

Where the car models have to be be re-done, then it becomes a different matter, afterall they have a finite amount of time before they release the game and therefore have to choose what cars to model for it within that time.

So I guess it all depends on if what we're seeing in GT7 are the same car models we see in the showroom scenes and photomode within GT Sport or if they are remodelled. The lack of clear differentiators suggests they are the same, but we can only assume at this point. Where the same models have been used from one game to the next, very few cars don't make the transition.

Do you except less duplicates and more varied cars even for non-japanese cars on GT7 or you think it will be the classical '20 impreza, 30 skylines and 20 miata spam' like previous games?

I think it'll be more like GT Sport. Each generation of car. The UCD may throw in an '89 R32 and R33 Nismo 400R, Silvia 270R, cars like that of the same lineage. I doubt PD will include several Midnight Purple GT-Rs.

If they pull up 500-600 cars at launch day without many copy&paste cars, and adding other new 150-200 cars with updates until GT8 on ps5 (2025-2026 before ps6), that will be more cars than GT4 and less copy paste cars and more proper cars with more variety from road cars to all GT groups in category, genres, types, nationality, age etc. So basically a bigger variety than even GT5 considering GT5 was a mess of 300-400 cars copy paste/duplicates of the 1060 total. And if GT8 come on PS5 too they port easily all the 750-800 cars from GT7 plus new cars and with outsourcing future GT8 might be more than 1,100 cars with very good quality, interiors, sounds, physics, damage, parts and all of the depth etc.

2020 Daihatsu Copen GR Sport. I'm 99% sure this little bad boy will appear on GT7.

I watched the GT3 endurance race at Kuala I last night. I race the track in ACC(before that, I think Grid Autosport). It's such a good track with ACC physics.

Such a track, with current GTS physics, it's like Barcelona and probably Laguna Seca and Baghurst. Tough to pass, nearly single file racing.
Thing is, the elevation changes and the speed of many corners, I fell it's exciting to drive around.
It's a classic oddball track, that I could see PD adding for this game. Another sorely lacking Southern Hemisphere track, to add with Interlagos and Bathurst.

As much as I'd like to see the Nike One 2022 return - especially since Nike is creating a VGT - I don't think we'll see it, as I think its sole appearance was in GT4. It didn't make it to the PS3 era...

Nevertheless, I do hope some of the other cars of the PS3 era return, like both Jay Leno cars, Andretti's Hudson, the three Senna cars, the two Ferrari F1 cars that only appeared in GT5, and any other "special guest" cars like the Citroen C4 WRC used by Loeb, the Sebastian Vettel X2010, and the Jeff Gordon NASCAR from 2010. I also hope the Mercedes-AMG W08 returns, especially if the Ferrari F2007 and F10 don't return. Then there's the LH Edition of the Mercedes-Benz VGT, though I hope that if it does return, it'll be much easier to get. I can accept a challenge - as I did get all golds in GT Sport's LH Challenge, as well as a coupe diamonds - but getting all diamonds is nuts!

I also unfortunately don't think we'll see the return of the Toyota MTRC, nor the Nissan 350Z Gran Turismo 4 Limited Edition. Indeed, the latter was last seen in GT5, with the former being last featured in GT4.

Now, I do think some premiums aren't really needed, like the masked prototype versions of the Nissan GT-R (R35) and the Chevrolet Corvette C7. Heck, I could even go without the GT-R Proto. Honestly, as far as road-going R35 models go, all I want is the Spec V, the Black Edition, and the Premium Edition, plus the two Nismo versions. I think that should cover it, but if PD really wants the GT-R Proto back on top of those five, I won't complain too much. (EDIT: Although that said, I just read now that the GT-R Proto is the only car in GT6 without an interior, as it was only built as a static model, much like the Toyota FT-86 II...)

I also think we can definitely go without the Audi R8 LMS, and I'd be fine with just the Bilstein-sponsored LMS Ultra introduced in GT6, as well as the LMS Ultra from GT Sport based on the second-gen R8. Speaking of the R8, I also hope we get the actual R8 LMP that the R8 road car is named for, as well as the R10 TDI - both could be good as Gr.1 cars.

EDIT: As for JGTC cars, I'm hoping we get the 1997 Castrol Tom's Supra, but also get at least one iteration of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and the Honda NSX. For the last one, I don't think we'd be as interested in a racer specifically based on the fixed-headlight NSX, as we already have the Super GT500 NSX. (With this in mind, the Toyota Supra A80 and Nissan Fairlady Z33 from the 2005 Super GT season would be nice.) So that also leaves us with JGTC GT300, in which case I'd really like the Toyota MR-S and Nissan Silvia, to name a few, though I'd be fine if we just jumped to the Super GT era of GT300 instead, as it feels like there are tons of options for GT300 cars from almost every major Japanese automaker, such the Mazda RX-7, the Toyota Prius (which is likely coming to GT7), the Honda CR-Z, the ASL Garaiya, the Lexus IS350, and the Subaru BRZ. Yeah, other than the CR-Z and the likely Prius, I don't see what sort of new GT300 cars could be added, though I'd really like that Nissan Silvia, if only so that all three major Japanese automakers could have a GT300 car, whether it's from JGTC or Super GT. But if not the Silvia, then the GT500 Z33 from 2005 could be replaced with the relatively newer GT300-spec Z33 instead.

EDIT2: I'm also still not sure where the late-90s GT1 cars would fit in - such as the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail or the Nissan R390 - but I'm pretty sure it's either gonna be Gr.2 or Gr.1. Similarly, I wonder where early-90s DTM would fit in, with legends like the Alfa Romeo 155TI and the Mercedes-Benz 190E Evolution II? I suppose we'll largely have to rely on waiting, to see if PD adds any new groups, what's in them, and what cars will be added to groups initially appearing in GT Sport, like Gr.1.

EDIT3: I just had another idea! If we could have a Gr.1V and Gr.3V for vintage prototypes and grand tourers respectively, what if they also added a Gr.2V for Group 5 racecars?

Not sure if I can post the memory dump of the specdb here, so:

I'd like ... I do hope ... I hope ... I could even go without ... I want ... I also hope ... I'm hoping ... I'd really like ... I'd really like
Again, this is a thread for predictions, not wishes/hopes/likes. To requote myself:
It's interesting how many people read the word "prediction" and think it says "wishlist".

The user who started this thread created a list of vehicles and tracks they thought were likely for inclusion in the next installment of Gran Turismo, and gave reasons for each. While some others have done the same, there's quite the selection of deleted posts now that are just a mindspaff of anything people can think of with no thought or reason.

We have an entire forum for suggestions. We also have - for whatever reason - an actual wish list thread. There is no need to pollute other threads with this.
Predictions and reasoning, not wishes/hopes/likes (or wishn'ts).

Mea culpa! I’ll try harder to be more mindful of that.

EDIT: Here's a prediction. How about a "Gr.D" for the various D1GP cars we've seen in the series? It could even go back to the BP Falken RX-7 that was plucked from the Tokyo Auto Salon, back during the temporary period when PD gave awards to cars from that show. It does seem that much like rallying, drifting is here to stay, too, given how cars tuned for drifting goes back at least to GT4, maybe even earlier.

Indianapolis will definitely be added to Gran Turismo 7 either at launch, or an update/DLC.

It's houses 1/3 of the Motorsport triple crown along side Monaco, and Le Mans. One of the most historically significant tracks in all of racing. That in itself should be enough of a reason to expect it in GT7.

Besides that, its also one of the only tracks that can be added (that haven't already been added in GT Sport) that could please such a large range of racing fans since Indycar, F1, MotoGP, IMSA and NASCAR all have raced there at one point or still do on either the oval, or road course layouts.

Also helps that 'NASCAR' was listed in the GT Sport credits, along with some names that have worked on NASCAR games before. Probably hinting that some type of NASCAR development is happening at Polyphony Digital. If you are going to add an oval, this makes the most sense to do so along with that.

As listed in OP's post, the 1966 AAR Gurney Indycar won the Pebble Beach 2018 Award. Of course not every car that wins is added, but when the ones that win also have extensive Motorsport history to go with it, Kaz usually gets them into the game. (Like Aston Martin B3S, Alfa Romeo TZ2, Ferrari P4, ect) Makes it even more likely since Pebble Beach 2020 was cancelled, so there will be less cars to choose from.

Of course, having one classic Indycar in the game alone isn't going to get PD to add IMS to GT7. I do think combined with all the other reasons I listed above, it definitely will help.

Is "rocket_r_d" the Light Car Company Rocket or something? I am sorry I am confused.
I think it is. There's a mention of a Rocket R&D producing the 2007 version of the LCC Rocket, which I believe is the version that appeared in GT6.

EDIT: I mean to say that Rocket R&D is referenced on the Wikipedia page for the LCC Rocket.

For some people, there are already enough of them on GT Sport. For me and many others, there are still more 1990s japanese street cars to come. Here are a few predictions:

Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) '93 - That's my favorite Civic generation. I believe it's coming for GT7 since we have the modified version from Phil Robles confirmed.
Honda_CIVIC_SiR-II_%28EG%29_%2793.jpg

Honda PRELUDE Si VTEC '91 - A Gran Turismo classic, definitely deserves the premium treatment.
Honda_PRELUDE_Si_VTEC_%2791.jpg

Mazda Autozam AZ-1 '92 - This one is pretty obvious as we got its rival, the Honda Beat, already on GT Sport.
Mazda_Autozam_AZ-1_%2792_%28Premium%29.jpg

Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R (FD) '91 - The very first FD RX-7 is a hot pick for GT7. No, it won't be a duplicate, it's the pre-facelift FD RX-7. Its performance is also quite different.
Mazda_%3Ffini_RX-7_Type_R_%28FD%29_%2791_%28Premium%29.jpg

Mazda Roadster 1.8 RS (NB) '98 - The only standard Miata surely deserves a super-duper-premium rendition, and I feel it is going to happen.
Mazda_Roadster_1.8_RS_%28NB%29_%2798_%28GT6%29.jpg

Mitsubishi ECLIPSE GT '95 - An iconic generation of an iconic car. The second generation Eclipse is a must-have for GT7.
Mitsubishi_ECLIPSE_GT_%2795.jpg

Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '97 - Another GT classic, it's a very cheap and fun car to drive. I can totally see it rolling on GT7.
Mitsubishi_FTO_GP_Version_R_%2797.jpg

Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo MR '98 - The last facelift of the GTO, it would be a great addition for the used car selection.
Mitsubishi_GTO_Twin_Turbo_MR_%2798.jpg

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR '99 - My favorite Lancer Evolution generation. I don't know if this will be the exact year and version, but I'm pretty sure the Evo VI is returning.
Mitsubishi_Lancer_Evolution_VI_GSR_%2799.jpg

Nissan Pulsar GTi-R '91 - The only car on this list not returning from GT6 is a pure hot hatchback. Due to its tradition, I believe it's returning... straight from GT2.
1990-Nissan-Pulsar-GTi-R-Fast-Car-History-Lesson.jpg

Nissan SILVIA K's AERO (S14) '96 - We have the S13 already on GT Sport and the S15 already on premium form and ready to come. Why not upgrade the iconic S14 as well?
Nissan_SILVIA_K%27s_AERO_%28S14%29_%2796.jpg

Subaru LEGACY B4 RSK '98 - This time, I'm sure Subaru won't be just Imprezas and BRZs. The 1998 Legacy B4 is a classic and deserves to return as a used bargain.
Subaru_LEGACY_B4_RSK_%2798_%28GT6%29.jpg

Suzuki ALTO WORKS SUZUKI SPORT LIMITED '97 - Probably my riskiest prediction here. But I feel at least one 1990s "non-2-seater" kei car is quite possible to happen.
Suzuki_ALTO_WORKS_SUZUKI_SPORT_LIMITED_%2797.jpg

Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 - Not much to say here. Just like the Autozam AZ-1, it's a very easy prediction.
Suzuki_Cappuccino_%28EA21R%29_%2795_%28Premium%29.jpg

Toyota ALTEZZA RS200 '98 - This might be a quirky pick, but I can feel this is coming for GT7... oh, and it's a Toyota.
Toyota_ALTEZZA_RS200_%2798.jpg

Toyota CELICA GT-FOUR RC (ST185) '91 - Ah, the Celica... I still can't believe how it didn't make it into GT Sport. Of course I had to put it on this list, starting with the ST185.
Toyota_CELICA_GT-FOUR_RC_%28ST185%29_%2791.jpg

Toyota CELICA GT-FOUR (ST205) '98 - So here is the second Celica I chose. The ST205 is also an iconic machine and I'm sure it's coming to GT Spo... I mean, GT7.

Willys have some quite nice cars, like the 77 from the 30's, which was popular on the racetrack, and the Americar which was a popular car among the hot rod culture.

Willys Americar

Sorry for off topic
The Americar would be an awesome addition for being an iconic hot rod. But I think @Samus is right. The Jeeps that Willys produced during and after WWII are much more historically significant.
I’m wondering which Jeep(s) would be included. Here are potential inclusions:

Great work! I reckon most of your picks are spot on. Lot of JDM magic in there.
