I've been going through my GT500 grid trying to get it all competitive and ready, and to be honest.. I think it's impossible.

The game seems to sets AI 'strength and aggressiveness' of the individual AI dependent on what position they start off in. If an AI starts in P1, he's likely going to finish in P1. On the flip side, if an AI starts in P15, he'll likely finish in P15. It's almost as if the grid order determines AI capabilities..

Which drives me absolutely effing nuts. Who's busted-ass idea was this?

I've even put a success ballast and turned down the ECU on the leader cars, and they still pull ahead like it's nothing. 40KG Ballast and 97% ECU for P1 and he still pulls ahead. And yes, BoP was set to Off.

This is effing stupid.

I just want to quality of the races. PD set up good locations for GT7, but they Did it better for GT Sport. Only thing is, Now we can replicate those GT Sport races.

It could be a matter of doing a race weekend. Similar to the real Goodwood festival. Tuned Minis versus Super Bees versus Shelby G.T.350s. Something like below.

Any type of touring car race.
.

I never thought about two types of tuned cars against each other in a race like this, this is a great idea. I will do that for some Goodwood events, thanks for the links!

I have touring car races as part of BTCC, but I will add them as a classic GT style event as well.

Fun thread; here is what I have doing and findings to share. Gr2 Championship over 5 races; 2 60 minute endurance and 3 20 minute sprints based upon target number of laps. Using the 8 available Gr2 cars plus a selection of 8 Gr3 cars for a 16 car grid. I used a custom BOP around 800PP for the Gr2 and 730PP for Gr3. The cars are stock including tires, then adjusted with ballast and power restriction based upon testing laps at the target tracks. Those included Interlagos, Road Atlanta, and GVH for the sprints and St. Croix and Kyoto Y&M (longest) for the endurance races. I used the Honda NSX GT500. The lowest PP car was the Lexus SC430 at 796 and highest was the Nissan GT-R NISMO at 8.13. The other GT-R at 798PP came in 2nd in points and 3rd was the AMG CLK at 796. My car was 798PP. I did win the season points, but never won a race. I was always in the mix getting three 2nd's, a 3rd, and a 4th. I never obtained the FL. For reference I am B/A online and usually get a bronze or low silver in TT. Interlagos and Road Atl were great racing, GVH not so much. Both endurance races were tough and I actually did Kyoto twice as I screwed up my pit strategy. At St. Croix I used fuel 5X and tire 8X; for Kyoto it was F7/T8. I love Gr2 cars and will be doing another 5 race championship using a different car after making new BOP mods.

If you can replicate it or dream it up, it's just about doable with this game feature.

So can you set up the entire series or do you have to set up each individual race? I mean, I'd like to do a 5 race championship like this as well but will it keep track of the results as well? Or will I have to track each driver myself after each race?

You will have to track each driver yourself after the race...has one advantage:you can decide the format and the points-system yourself as well...

As Bats said, you have to do each race individually and track driver/points. In this series I only care about the Gr2 cars, so its easy tracking the 8 cars with a simple spreadsheet. I use a modified F1 point system. Also, one advantage of setting each race up, you can modify your weather or time of day settings depending upon what is available at that track. Last night I ran a sprint at Trial Mountain, started in the evening time slot with a 12x time multiplier over 12 laps. It gave a brilliant sunset to night transition. The racing at the track was also very good.

Hi, it is possible to save the settings of a "Custom Race" ?
I've seen videos on YouTube showing the option.
But it doesn't show up for me. That I have to do?

This is a screenshot from YouTube with the option to Save Settings and Load Settings:

What can I do to have these two options available?

Is your game updated to the latest version?

Yes, my game is updated to the latest version.
I'm from Spain.
Do you see these options to save the settings in all the circuits? What I can do??

This is a screenshot of my screen. As you can see I don't have the "Save Settings" and "Load Settings" options

Is there a general 'formula' for tire and fuel multipliers for certain race durations? As @Cleveland8 mentioned above, he used 5F/8T for St Croix for a one hour race. Would it be like that an any race that I wanted to run at 1 hour? Basically, I want to do both that he mentioned but also add Daytona Road and LeMans. Can I just use those formulas? I really want to pit at least 2-3 times in these.
Geez, I hope that made sense...

I mean, it can't... not be. Otherwise the game wouldn't be playable outside of Arcade Mode.
Maybe it unlocks later on?
Yeah, true, thought maybe you can still play offline with everything unlocked as long as you’re connected to the internet, but of course, has to be connected to the servers.

It’s possible, when they were added, I had finished the regular menu books, I’m pretty sure, or at least a good portion of them.

I did a trial run at daytona with gr3 cars, fuel was x6 and tyres x8, 30 minutes race. This gave me enough fuel for 8 laps on fuel map 1. I didn’t run race long enough to see how many laps tyres would last. Hope this helps a little

Ello all! I've had the idea of making an international series using the Mini Cooper '05, with 10x 2-car teams each representing a country. Each team will have a livery based on prolific sponsors from that country (ie. Calsonic from Japan, Red Bull from Austria, Pennzoil from USA, etc.) and drivers from that country, or at least affiliated with the inspirational base car/s. Each of these will then have a "home" race, so I'm limited to countries with representative circuits in the game.

Annoyingly though, I've thought up nine teams, and I'm struggling with finding a tenth to fill the grid!

So far I have:

Australia : Pirtek (V8 Supercars) : Mount Panorama
Austria : Red Bull (DTM) : Red Bull Ring
Brazil : Petrobras (Copa de las Naciones) : Interlagos
France : Total (WRC) : Circuit de la Sarthe
Germany : Bosch (DTM) : Nurburgring
Italy : Alitalia (???) : Monza
Japan : Calsonic (Super GT) : Autopolis
USA : Pennzoil (Nascar) : Road Atlanta
UK : Halfords (BTCC) : Brands Hatch

Other possible venues are Barcelona and Spa, but I can't think of any major Spanish or Belgian sponsors or championships or teams... Anyone able to help??

Benny Dorm Holidays for Spain ?

Doh! Repsol! Perfect sponsor for Spain!

Although if Benny Dorm Holidays step up their prominence in motorsport I'll gladly switch them up. 🤪

All the other countries get decent sponsors, but we (uk) get Halfords?! :D

Here's a random thing that I use custom races for.....
Practicing for the S-10 licence.

I have bought a '70 Porsche and I do a two player race against the fastest tomahawk at Spa. If I do a 6 lap race, it usually laps me twice, which is a sign of how much practice I need. But I get a bit of money for coming second in a race with a faster vehicle and I get good practice for the licence. It also is usually enough for my daily mileage. So a useful way of practicing for a hard licence.

I also sometimes do full grid races at Spa with more similarily spec'd cars just to mix it up a bit.

I could potentially do a Castrol livery, but I wanted to use a sponsor that's prolific in that country's main race series, and Halfords with Honda have been linked to the BTCC for a the better part of two decades now, so it made sense from that point of view.
