Porsche/VW, Ford and Nissan have multipleSo is every engine swap going to be compatible with only one car (aside from the original car it came from)? Seems like a lot of missed opportunities...
I thought that was only compatible for Civic '98 before the update!I just won a k20c1-civic-‘20 and almost installed in the civic type r, but paused and checked the rest of my cars for ***** and giggles. It seems this will fit in the integra type r as well, was this known already? Sorry for the pic, skylights let in a ton of morning light.View attachment 1144144
That is what I thought, I am not seeing anywhere that this swap was known before today.I thought that was only compatible for Civic '98 before the update!
I am not sure anything is still confirmed after the update, I found a new car that the Honda engine will fit in that was previously unknown. So I won the legendary 2JZ-GTE, also known as the only good part of a Toyota Supra, today.

Is it true this engine is only compatible with the Nissan Silvia? If so that’s kind of disappointing because I’m not a huge fan of the Silvia S15 and would prefer to use this elsewhere.
If I won that engine, I'd personally hold onto it. It could be that PD could make more cars compatible with various engines as there are more updates. I would not be surprised if we could eventually swap that engine into say, an AE86 or a modern GR86.So I won the legendary 2JZ-GTE, also known as the only good part of a Toyota Supra, today.

As you'll be aware by now, GT7 has engine swaps! Yay! 🎉
The mechanism seems to entirely luck-based, so in these early stages we don't know what engines are available and what cars they fit in. I've created this thread so that the cloud-computing-mind of GTPlanet can do what it does best: assemble a complete list.
Here's all the ones we know so far. Please add any others you find in the comments below - note the original brand, the name of the engine, and any eligible cars - with some picture evidence, please!
Chevrolet
LT1-Corvette - Mazda Roadster (ND) S '15
Dodge
Hellcat-Charger - Dodge Challenger R/T '70
Ford
Coyote-5.0L-Mustang - Ford Mustang GT '15, Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71
Honda
K20C1-Civic-'20 - Honda Civic (EK) Type R '98
Mazda
13B-REW-RX-7 - Mazda Eunos Roadster NA '89
R26B-787B - Mazda RX-7 Spirit R '02
Nissan
SR20DET-Silvia - Nissan Silvia S13 Ks '90, Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R Aero '02
Porsche
M96/76-Porsche-'01 - Volkswagen 1200 '66
M64/03-911 - Volkswagen 1200 '66, Volkswagen Sambabus '62
Toyota
2JZ-GTE-Supra - Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R '02 (!)
i sadly would suggest people to save their engines because they are going to update it in time and what is a 2jz s15 could later be a 2jz ae86So I won the legendary 2JZ-GTE, also known as the only good part of a Toyota Supra, today.

It should be noted that if one account is submitting only their good tickets, that will be noticed and their data will be removed.Haha that's fair
I took the liberty of sharing your screenshot over on the Gran Turismo subreddit, immediately people are whinging about not having won an engine yet 😒 In the comments of my post I did the math to work out the likelihood of winning an engine after x-amount of months assuming you complete the daily workout every day (1 month being roughly 30 roulette spins) based off the stats/samples found here. As it stands the chances are;
On the site it's mentioned ~ 12 and 15 as being a low sample size, but to be fair even a sample size of ~100 for the 3/4 star tickets is a little bit low. We also don't know if any bias existed in the collection of these stats (i.e. did people only choose to share their results if they won? Or slowly became bored of sharing results when they weren't getting anything interesting?) With these things considered there's still a wide margin for error in my opinion.
- 34% chance after 1 month / 30 roulette spins
- 56% chance after 2 months / 60 spins
- 71% after 3 months / 90 spins
- 92% after 6 months
- 99.3% after a year
Personally I kind of like the idea of keeping these things exclusive else they would just be another boring/overused tuning part. I think the chances could be increased though... I'd like to have at least a couple of engine swaps after 6 months as opposed to probably just 1 if I play every day lol. For example, if the chance of winning an engine were tripled from what it is currently the probability of winning an engine after a month worth of spins would increase from 34% to 72%. I think numbers like this would be less of a source of frustration while still maintaining the same excitement when you actually do win one... That excitement would be lost if you can just "go buy an engine" from the tuning shop, so I do prefer it this way...
Here has been my experience...I won an lt1 engine the first week of playing the game from a 4 star ticket. My collector level was below 10. It would be nice if you won more high level tickets as your collector level went up but that has definitely not been the case for me. One thing that was blatantly obvious to me was as soon as I finished all of the Cafe' missions I stopped getting nearly as man 4 star or higher tickets. I would say at least 80% of tickets I get now from daily workout are 1-3 stars with 2 star tickets being the most common by far for some odd reason. Also, While doing the Cafe' races I received multiple 5 star tickets and a good amount of 4 star. Since I finished Cafe' I have not won any 5 star tickets and far fewer 4 star tickets. It should be noted that if one account is submitting only their good tickets, that will be noticed and their data will be removed.
Of course, mistakes can still happen & if someone only submits one bad ticket that will probably go through.
I'd still be confident the probabilities are ±2% for 1-4 star rewards, and ±20% for 5-6 star rewards.
We've raised a bit more data since that listing, but I did all the calculation visible on the site manually in a spreadsheet:
I'll eventually work on an automated process for this part of the site.
Also note that your calculation will be slightly lower than the real odds will be for anyone who is regularly playing:
the higher your collector level, the more 4-star and 6-star tickets you get from daily workout (current guess is ~25% more 4-star tickets when at level 50 compared to <level 25, but that's a very rough estimate with not much confidence).
Also, thanks to everyone who takes the time to submit screenshots of proof that a swap is possible here, it's super helpful.
I agree with this, dailies have been generally lower for me as well. I have never seen a 5 star ever though. I have got one 6 star as a daily and a few 4 stars recently but mostly 3 and 2’s.Here has been my experience...I won an lt1 engine the first week of playing the game from a 4 star ticket. I checked tonight and the Coyote 5.0 is NOT compatible with the Boss 429. I don't have the Shelby Mustang on my second account where I won the Coyote 5.0, so my question is, can you swap the 5.0 into the Shelby Mustang? I used to own a 1966 Mustang with a 289, so realistically, the small block, 5.0 should be compatible with the older Shelby Mustang. Can anyone confirm if the Coyote 5.0 is now compatible with the Boss 429 Mustang? Saw someone claiming it is.
I think the Coyote engines are physically larger while being the same displacementI checked tonight and the Coyote 5.0 is NOT compatible with the Boss 429. Theres no way the VR38DETT is only 109lbs heavier than the SR20DET, PD's engine weights seem to be way off
Imagine if you could swap a Ferrari engine into it ha ha.I have a question since I am still awaiting an engine swap and I don't see it on the list but does anyone know if the original Fiat 500 can have an engine swapped into it or not?
I was thinking Porsche but you read me well in where I am going with this one!Imagine if you could swap a Ferrari engine into it ha ha.
SR20 is 328lbs w/o transmission.Theres no way the VR38DETT is only 109lbs heavier than the SR20DET, PD's engine weights seem to be way off
