Is anyone else noticing that a lot of the new "showcase events" are a lot harder than the recommended PP/the base game events? And no, it's not a "skill issue", the AI are just using faster cars. In the new European Sunday Cup race, which is supposed to be 400 PP, there's an AI that uses a M3 '97, which is close to 500!
Same ahah yesterday not able to win against the M3 at hard using the new 205. Once the bmw take the lead is impossible to gain time.

First time I ran the event, it had a 901 Carrera on the grid as well. I have to assume someone at PD thought they were working on a 500 PP event?

The black looks purplish from my PS5 Pro.

According to my research, the 205 GTI (Phase 1.5) should be available in these colors, so at least one shade of gray is missing. If I'm not mistaken, the special colors became available in 89 and 90.

Edit. I'm pretty sure magnum grey / gris magnum is the missing color

Yes, I noticed that too. I had a Porsche 911 '73 as an opponent that was driving over 210 km/h on the straights.

Just curious, the Dashboard menu still count 526 total cars instead of 529.
I've been having the same issue. None of the new cars are in and I can't finish the weekly challenges without one of them.

This is because 526 is the true number of cars we have - not including the Stealth model Mazda RX-Vision GT3, Christian Dior De Tomaso Mangusta and Red Bull X2019 Anniversary.
The new cars aren't there.

Well, at least that is accurate unlike some races with low level AI where you can walk by the faster vehicles.

Care to explain a bit more ?

I had no issue buying the new cars, and none is needed to complete the weeklies.
The 205 is, as there's a 205 one-make race...

There are only 526 cars, so 526 is the right number.

When you say they aren't "in", where are you looking? The BMW is in Brand Central (and Used Cars), the Peugeot is in Used Cars, and the Unimog is in Legends Cars.

Ah ! I am still on last week's weeklies 😅 but all the cars are available indeed. As it is always the case when new cars come out or when a weekly requires a car or a type of cars.

The new cars don't seem to be available for me to purchase. I can't find them in the showroom.

Thank you. You have made my week. :)

I must be a deranged person that buys 6 Unimogs just to get and use all the push bar and bed options this thing has.
I haven't been able to get at my console since the update, but I've read in another thread that the unimog can only be used as "one make" in custom races - if that true, then how did you create that race using different unimog styles? Sorry if I'm a noob ;)

For future reference, we put all of this information into our update articles too:

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.56: New Cars

We’d already got a decent bead on the cars from the traditional pre-update teaser, and had more specific confirmation earlier in the week. However it’s only now that we know what the pricing of the fleet is — and it’s about as inexpensive as we guessed:

BMW Z4 3.0i 2003 – Brand Central/Used Cars – 60,000cr
Mercedes-Benz Unimog Type 411 1962 – Legends Cars – 46,000cr
Peugeot 205 GTI 1988 – Used Cars – 61,600cr

I've seen it in the new sunday cup event at RBR short so I think you can do whatever you want with it.

Thank you. I'm not sure if I understand that, though. A car that can be used in any predefined event may or may not be usable in custom races with any option other than one make. Take any EV for instance: You can use it in all predefined events as long as it matches the event restrictions, but in custom races you can only use it in one make races.

The Unimog is not restricted in custom races like EVs or the Himedic - you can make whatever custom grid you want and race with it.

It's just that it's so slow that the default "Random" option will effectively give you a one-make, because no other car in the game is slow enough to match with it.

Ah ok - now it make sense :) Thank you. Glad to know.

I've already collected at least 20 great liveries and looking forward to make some cool custom races.

Kinda surprised how good the z4 is in stock form, haven’t modded that yet but the chassis/suspension is great. The unimog is brutally slow stock but fully modded and tuned it actually handles well and is pretty fun. The cossy escort and 22b are monsters with the swap and I think the 22b is glitched. Fully tuned with RS tires its under 700pp but can keep up with 800pp cars. Pretty good update imo.

I stated earlier that I never heard of a Unimog until this update. I gotta say, with all honesty, they're actually kinda cool looking. I like the exposed mechanical bits. I was unfamiliar with the 205 as well. Bone stock on comfort soft, that mfer is impressive! Of course I immediately ruined it by putting a turbo on it so now I have to by another.

Both the Unimog and the 205 are very familiar vehicles, at least here in Europe. But I understand the US use only muscle cars instead ;)

?

You can remove the turbo, it's not a permanent modification.

Wanted to take Unimog for a spin and just roam around off-road parts of Willow Springs, but it's apparently not possible anymore? Back in GT6 you could drive around freely, the only limits were actual physical barriers and fences, but it seems like GT7 just resets you back on track as soon as you get to like 10-20m away from the road. Is there actually no way to drive everywhere now?
Can't you turn track reset off? Maybe I'm wrong, thought you could.

Did some testing. Too me this FF and handling is the best yet with GPRO / PSVR2.
Finally I can let the Ferrari F8 (stock) slide in a controlled manner around Interlagos.
And the Ford Focus Rally car on street tires now really behaves super nice slide with heavy breaking just before cornering sending it to slide. Much more fun and realistic now. The vibrations when sliding and curbs are sweet spot for me 2 no. Just right.

Have not driven all 3 cars from this update yet because I’m having so much fun with the 205.

Did my standard road care customization with it (weight reduction 1, increase body rigidity, racing brakes and break balance controller) and it drives like a dream.

In part certainly thanks to the more casual physics introduced in the last update.

Very solid update.
