It's also quite bizarre how GT7 doesn't have that many IMSA race cars, while they had a partnership with them, which explains the addition of tracks such as Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta three years ago.
To be fair, we have no idea what that "partnership" looks like since I'm pretty sure the only public comment is an incredibly vague mention from the IMSA boss.

For all we know it's literally just for Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta (and probably the Ford GT GTE).

It is an odd scenario, it could be as simple as IMSA and GT saying "we are friends, let's cross-promote" as with the Dior collab; but adding 3 of 5 IMSA North American Endurance Cup tracks to the roster in a year (Daytona, Glen, Atlanta) seemed quite productive, targeted and meaningful.

I'd earlier assumed that would mean the remaining two - Indianapolis and Sebring - would be on the way, but I'm not sure the IMSA partnership necessitates the licensing of those tracks, that may still be a separate process.

More IMSA-related content may be on the way in the long term. GT partnerships can take a long time to bear fruit: Audi's presence in Vision GT was confirmed in August 2013, the car appeared in 2018, and the Nike, Jordan, Ford, GM and Tesla VGTs are still TBA after 11½ years. GT has also sponsored the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for 10 years for some reason... whether they're playing the long game for a return on their investment when they eventually use PPIHC in GT as a selling point, or they just like watching the hillclimb and want to help ensure it continues with their patronage won't be known for a few more years, it seems.

Just to add to the partnership stuff. I mean, we got two eras of Super Formula racers and still don’t have the complete set of circuits those cars race on.

For the 2019 season , the circuits were:
  • Suzuka
  • Autopolis
  • SUGO
  • Fuji
  • Motegi
  • Okayama
  • Suzuka

2023 season were:
  • Fuji
  • Suzuka
  • Autopolis
  • SUGO
  • Fuji
  • Motegi
  • Suzuka

We only need three circuits. Maybe those circuits are on the way, maybe not. It’s funny that it seems PD have a couple partnerships ongoing, but there’s a pause at the moment.

The Lexus RC F GT3 has a livery variation based on Vasser Sullivan, making it the only IMSA GTD in the game.
