This would be nice, make it based on brand ownership instead. I think the overall response to the system as it is currently means we won't get anymore invite cars.
Change the system to something where the player needs to meet some requirement in order to get acess to a car.
If they introduced that with the valkyrie and added all previously locked cars, each car requiring a challenge in order to unlock, would be a great change.

Cool cars. Hope they make some of the many needed QoL improvements too. That's all I have to say after complaining about the same things over and over lol.

Maybe this is too much of a sensible expectation, but I think PD have learnt their lesson with regards to invitations. I don't think we'll be seeing any more of them.
Seeing as we haven't had a car added post launch that required it, seems to be one of the few sensible expectations to expect.

I hope so. I have 3 accounts, 2 of them have 2 Veyrons each. I've gotten 7 Bugatti invitations in the last month or two on those 2 accounts. The 3rd one has never received an invitation.

Absolutely.
But what happens with cars locked since the beggining?
People want those too.

Nah, because every LCD car is pre-2001, and every Brand Central car is post-2001, while UCD cars still have that 2001-2010 crossover period.
So far.

That said, what cars from 2001 and on could possibly be classed as "legendary"? The only ones that really could - "legendary" race cars like the R18, 919, GR010 - are already in BC only. If the Veyron/Chiron, Enzo/LaFerrari, Carrera GT/918 and similar aren't "legendary", what is?

Well, aside from the Lexus LFA, and that's only legendary in some players' heads. In reality it was very difficult for Lexus to get customers into them; several didn't sell until years later - there's still stories of one unsold LFA today, over a decade on.

I think the invitation cars are the Brand Central equivalent of "legendary" cars. At least, if PD carried on with them post-launch with cars like the 918, Chiron and upcoming Valkyrie.

You guys think we'll ever get a LCD/BC car?

I don't see the point. When we have UCD/BC cars, you have a discount in the UCD.

What benefit could you have with a LCD/BC combo ? Well maybe if they have increase the cars locked behind the invitation system, you could have the benefit of getting a invite locked car in LCD once in a while. But it looks like they learned how badly designed the invitational system is.

Speaking of the LFA, I can actually see that being in LCD instead of UCD when it comes, besides the BC.

Another Pike Peak year with GT sponsorship and another year of it not in the game.

This makes my head hurt. Why does GT do all this involvement in events that never see game inclusion?

Considering that PD loves to make fictional race cars, I wonder why until today PD hasn't made modern GT1 race cars to fit in Gr.2.

Mclaren Senna Gr.2 Race car, Valkyrie Gr.2 Race Car, Ford GT MK vi Gr.2 Race Car, AMG Project ONE Gr.2 Race car, Porsche 917 Living Legend Gr.2 Race Car, Ferrari LaFerrari Gr.2 Race Car etc.

There would be no shortage of options.

You might be onto something with those cars. If Hypercars are locked behind a licensing agreement, why not pull a LM edition? :sly:

We only had 8 Lancers so far, a 9th was of the highest priority, thanks PD !
This is kind of controversial for me, because at the same time I love to see 90s and 00s iconic Japanese cars from the series returning, I also noticed that Polyphony is really focusing on bringing other versions/generations of already existing names instead of actual new models.

For example, there are mostly two highly relevant Mitsubishis from the 90s considering the history of the series that are not yet in GT7: the Eclipse and the FTO. So, they could really prioritize them and bring them instead, and simply save the Evo III for later... and that becomes interesting because, like I said, I do love the Evo III and I absolutely agree it deserves to be brought back, but not in this weird priority.

I had the exact same feeling last month, when we got the R32 Nismo, when it could be like a Pulsar GTi-R Instead.

That does not seem like something that can happen. The pattern goes like this:
  • Brand Central (model year >2011)
  • Brand Central and UCD (model year 2001 to 2010, for non-invitation road cars only)
  • UCD (model years below 2000, for road cars and certain Pro Tuned cars: EK9 TC and Shigeno Trueno)
  • LCD (model years below 2000, for road cars deemed legendary at PD's discretion or all race cars meeting the year criteria)

I think it would be better if the different trims were in different classes instead.

Ex. We already have a CLK-LM in Gr.2, so include the CLK-GTR as a regular roadcar, we already have the Nissan Z so include the GT500 Z instead of the Nismo Z, instead of including the C8 Z06 add the C8.R or make a fictional Gr.3 version of it instead. That way though the cars may be of the same bodystyle they are different enough to not be classed as just another clone.

I also agree with the statement about last months DLC but tbf the Nismo R32 can be made into almost an exact clone of the JGTC Spec R32 with the widebody but then again it otherwise is almost exactly like the R32 already ingame just with minimal changes.

I've always said, can't get the NASCAR licence? Make a GT Stock Car. Can't get the license for modern WEC/IMSA machinery? Make a GT Prototype. Can't get the F1 license, bring back the GT Formula Single Seater and make a modern version.

They have the ability with the FT1500 (the version that legally different from the Lotus 98T) so why not do that for other series that you don't want to buy the license for.

Automobilista 2 does that with F1 content.
Reiza has some licensed Brabham, McLaren and Lotus. But to cover different eras of F1 history they create some fictional cars that resemble the real ones.

RaceRoom is another example with "FRUS" that is basically a DW12 with different name. "FRX" for modern F1 or FR90 for the 90's.

Grid Legends also.

If PD has the FT1500 why they don't do the same with other eras or categories is a mystery that only they know.

But I think it's due to laziness and lack of interest.

I know that through GT Auto we can create something that looks like it. But I don't think it took much effort for PD to create some Gr.3 / Gr.4 versions of already present cars.
Corvette C8 Gr.3, BMW E30, GT-R R32 and Sierra Cosworth Gr.4?

I'm not aware of GT Sport's update history, have PD ever added a "Gr.1/3/4/B" variant of a car in an update where the base car isn't a VGT? Because my gut feeling is it's something they do when they have no other options for manufacturer participation at v1.00 of a game rather than it being something they like and want to do.
