Since the '97 Castrol Supra is already in the game, I doubt this will be added too due to being too similar, but the one I have nostalgia for is the '00 version that featured in Gran Turismo 3.

Given it's in a closer year bracket to the Skyline GT-R, & NSX that's coming, I'd like to have seen this version show up again one day.

Maybe a smidge more likely is the 2005 YellowHat Supra from GT5. That had a similar look to the '00 Supra, but I'd imagine had improved aerodynamics. The concern I have with that is it ending up in Gr.2, as it was grouped in with the 2008 GT500 cars back then.

Anyway the reason I brought this up is because of the NSX '00 that we're getting. Really happy to see that return, but would be even better if it had an '00 Supra to go along with it someday to complete the trio. I suppose the '97 will have to do for now.
If it was up to me , i would have added all those GT500 just like previous GT games had but people would complain about being "copies" or "looklikes"

I would also love to see the ‘00 Supra, but as PD love cars with significance then my bet would be the ‘01 car as it won the GT500 Drivers Championship that season.

I think they might still go back to the 2000 Castrol car since it was more iconic, season performance be damned.

I am okay with that as long they add the 2006 Z and 2011/2012 HSV-010 to complete the trifecta of "orphan" PS3-era GT500 cars.

The V40 does give me an idea of a "TCR" build.

A premium R31 GTS-R is another welcome addition. RWD Skylines fascinate me.

I am also excited with the Castrol Mugen NSX. Let's see how it fares against other Gr. 3 cars.

The 240 Estate will sure to have a crazy engine swap in the succeeding update. I can smell it.

The EG6? I'll make a Spoon build out of it.

With those out of the way, what will be the other features? We can only wait until Thursday.

Plus, it’s unlike any other Skyline in the game. It’s a full RWD, straight-six, five-speed, two-door sedan(hmm, reads just like the other two classic Skylines), but with turbo power! Overall, very different to the Skylines before and after. It’s all about that square bizz. Good stuff!

Apologies if someone has brought this up already, but I just found out something that might be of interest.

So Volvo are returning to the franchise, which is great in itself. But apparently Volvo are owned by the Geely group.

And you know who else is owned by the Geely group?

Maybe, just maybe, Volvo coming back could be an indication of licence disagreements finally being resolved.
We know that there are Lotus cars from the datamine, including the Evora which was playable in GT Sport Beta but later removed.
Also what appeared to be Gr.3 & Gr.4 versions of the Evora too (they were listed as GT3 & GT4, but the year markings were "xx", indicating them being fictional/PD-original).
Those could have been planned originally for GT Sport's launch, for Manufacturer Series purposes, but were also cut and left dormant due to licence issues.
Was an Esprit in the datamine list too? I can't remember for certain.

I hope that this is an indication of Lotus' potential return, but we'll only know for certain if they show up in future silhouettes.

Been brought up multiple times on previous pages. Lotus, Volvo, Geely etc all manage that kind of stuff (like having their cars in games) independently, so the appearance of Volvo says nothing about Lotus situation.

I think @Famine is going to have an aneurysm at this point lol.

To your point: yes, it's been brought up by about ten other people, but apparently the image rights are still owned by the individual brands which have their own marketing departments. So it doesn't mean anything about the conflict between PD and Lotus being resolved.

I don't understand this, it's a chance for free advertising or sponsorship. I don't know why brands don't bring it or allow it when they have the opportunity to promote a brand.
