Huh, we basically got a demonstration of Sophy × B-Spec in the World Series stream.
Indeed! I just checked that!

They could skirt around this by just bringing back unlicensed versions of real F1 cars like they did with the F-1900T F1500T-A and F1 cars from the previous GT games:

I didn't think they were actually gonna do it but they did  if they indeed add B spec this will be the perfect update for those of us who don't have a ton of free time to earn a bunch of credits.

No guarantee, but having B-Spec would make adding the longer endurance events some fans have been desperately wanting more viable. Just need mid-race saving after that.
Well, i'm wondering how B-Spec will be added. The same update with some endurance events? Or will we get endurance races first and B-Spec later? Just hope that it's possible to race the endurance events yourself.
And i hope that B-Spec will not be limited to 3 lap races.

Just to make sure, is there really any downside to getting a car from the UCD with the more typical, five-digit mileage? Sure, I think it means you'll be putting less mileage on it yourself before you need to take it to GT Auto, but is there any other disadvantage? Like would one need to take such a car to GT Auto more often or something?

There is in general 4-5 years between each release, and why would that be any different now. I dont see it release any later than late 2027 witch would be almost a 6 years gap.
Because every generation, games take longer and require more money and resources to make. Basically every game series has run into this issue, even CoD, and that's with Activision turning what used to be the AA game development industry into an army of support studios. You just can't make a full AAA game in 3-4 years anymore.

For those thinking this Sophy demonstration means B Spec is coming, one important note:
Sophy is PS5 only. I doubt they would split the consoles on such a feature especially if it's combined with endurance races. So that leaves a few options:
  1. They made Sophy work on PS4, at least for one car at a time (unlikely I think)
  2. B Spec will be there, but won't work with Sophy
  3. There will be a major feature split between PS4 and PS5 (unlikely)
  4. B Spec is not coming at all, and this was just some internal prototype, maybe for GT8 (most likely I think)

Well done to JLOC for winning their first ever championship!View attachment 1411378
After many failed attempts and bad luck, the team responsible for GT's first "Lamborghini" have got what they deserve after 31 seasons in Japan's top racing league. In many ways it's quite poetic because one of the cars that JLOC had before this was wrecked, so they buy a brand new one and a year later, they win. This is for all the men and women who have worked tirelessly since the beginning of JGTC/Super GT. Gran Turismo were there in their darkest days so it would only be fitting for them to celebrate this tremendous triumph by adding the Huracan GT3 EVO 2.

I didn't make the livery
I bet Roflwaffle is happy! He's the reason I learned about JLOC's history. Great to see them finally get a title!

Since B-Spec in most scenarios (career mode) is 1 player-controlled driver going up against a field of regular A.I. opponents, and not Sophy A.I. ones, I personally could see them being able to implement it on PS4.
While I'm not a game developer to know the technical specifics, it would surely not need anywhere near as much power compared to the full field Sophy A.I. races that are PS5 exclusive.

Random li'l question, is it normal that since 1.49 I struggle like crazy to keep control of RS tires even with all assists that don't automate driving for the player? (TCS, ASM, Countersteer assist and 10 on both force feedback ((Apparently controller driving seems to be affected by this too, at least from what I've experienced since GT6.))

Forgot to say, Countersteer assist seems to barely do anything sometimes.

If gt8 was to be released in late 2027 like i said it would not be a 3-4 years gap, it would be closed to 6 year gap, it would make a lot of sense for 30th year anniversary.
