It still takes modeling work to render damage in vehicles, and that they are limited by licensing to keep it as minimal as possible (considering manufacturers don't want to see their cars depicted as damaged or destroyed beyond recognition).
Other titles show this is not actually the case.

Having worked with a lot of OEMs I can also state that it will vary between OEM and the stance on it has, overall, become more accepting over the years, particularly with regard to race rather than road machinery. A big gap exists between damaged and destroyed as well, and while more will not allow damage to be shown that would result in occupant injury (so no safety cell intrusion or damage), race ending damage is more than OK for most. Hell you can include race ending damage in a sim simply by modelling suspension damage well.

GTS is my first entry in the GT series but my impression so far is that car damage is not what they are after at all - they are celebrating cars, not trying to wreck them. So I think it must be very much intentional to not show much more than a dent or scrape.
It's perfectly possible to show damage to cars while also celebrating them, it's not a binary choice.

Visual damage whatever, but mechanical gameplay damage is important to encourage safe driving.
Exactly and it’s a huge part of Motorsport especially in the endurance races. I have seen people smash into the wall and only have a 3 second repair in the pits… like come on!!

I would say opposite as visual damage would be welcome feature but mechanical damage encourage nothing ;d we had fia with damage on and it was worst as for many races ended on frist few corners and thats why there wasn't damage on since then

interesting as there is clearly gran turismo logo on Albert Park circuit poster
That was what I was reffering to give the screenshot in the Twitter post

It's a strange poster irrespective of the GT logo. Why does it have circles highlighting some corners, and what are the black blocks representing? Not grandstands. The pit lane is in the wrong place and some of the corners are a bit off. The first corner should be more acute, so should the (now old) T9.

It could be a tease but a Spanish language video seems like a strange place to do it. Also as @05XR8 says it's been under reconstruction for the past year on and off, if they scanned it before then it's going to be immediately outdated.

For Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, they announced a State of Play on Monday with it being shown on Thursday on this amount of days remaining to release.

GT7 will be releasing at a interesting period for PlayStation as VR2 should follow later in the year and maybe a change in services they offer too. PS5 should be more profitable and be able to be produced in higher numbers. Hopefully a redesigned smaller one is released in GT7 launch window so I can upgrade my PS4 Slim to it.

Maybe bolding the corners similar to this.

They're in the wrong places though for that. Not overtaking spots either, since they have two kinks highlighted.

There is also an smaller version of the track which looks like an old historic one? Much curvier than anything I've ever seen in my lifetime.

The title top left is Circuitos so it's certainly a Spanish poster, but it's all very odd.

Changing the oil may make sense if PD have upped the damage model.
Say the car condition below

We don’t know how it works at the moment. How long between oil changes? Does oil require changing even if I never Use a car? Are wear and damage separate? What is the “Caution” icon for? Other parts that need replacing?: brakes? Body damage? worn tyres?
Does smashing into walls carry over post race or do I just enter the pits to restore the car?

If Daily Workout is the same 42kms, how long until an engine overhaul? I don’t know if driving a car easier or harder, will affect engine performance. Maybe it’s distance, rather than time.

Will adding performance parts shorten engine life?

There are car covers over vehicles in the trailer.

Could be a way to protect the body over time or a favourite car or a gift car unwrapped.

I guess PD are bringing us back to pride of ownership, there’s something for those of us that enjoy that. Livery Creators have their thing, Sport Mode drivers have their thing. Some just want to tune. Some want to build. Some want to do everything.
Other than the AI concern, PD have covered the basics that make it look like GT of old. We’ll see if PD give the solo racer the tools to create, like league communities and livery communities and tuner communities.have.
In a pre-release version of GT6, car damage remained on cars after the race and could be repaired in GT Auto. The retail version however removed this, but the option to “restore car rigidity” remained. I would assume this is what it is.

I did some sleuthing, and here's the 50s layout of Albert Park before it was closed in 1958:

Comparing it to the small red outline in the screenshot you provided, it doesn't really seem to match up at all. Much simpler than what we see there.

So, the only conclusion I could come to is that the red outline is actually the new layout:

Note how the new layout has the removed chicane, which seems to match up with the small layout in your screenshot. The rest I couldn't really make out due to the low resolution.

EDIT: Oops, images aren't showing correctly, give me a moment!

EDIT 2: There we go :D

Don't get carried away. This is FAR from confirmation it's coming to the game. PD certainly didn't create that map outline with incorrect pitlane and corners, so who did, and why? Sony?
Any speculation is cool. im day one buyer

If it’s in the game then I really hope they have the new layout, they got rid of literally all the annoying parts of the track with that upgrade.

Context is important. He wasn't just talking about the future. He said the game would combine the past, present and future of Gran Turismo. That makes no sense if the future is just the past and the present combined. That's just redundant..
Maybe redundant, buts again is whait it is.

Its not a limited by licensing, its just PD and they incompetence. They already have a good damage model
in some rally cars in 2010.

There has been a distinct lack of talk from PD re: AI and car damage, which I assume means AI will be much the same as GT Sport (terrible) and car damage won't be included?
I played a lot GT Sport and the IA looks better, is not the best already, but seems they work on it

I was so excited that I had found the Melbourne track poster frame in that video and I could contribute to the thread but turns out y'all are much faster than I am :gtpflag:
