Did you enjoy the GTS sounds?

It must blow up the mind of our friend Shingo when he realizes that a former T10/Forza guy made the sounds of GT better (much better, in fact!) after it was vastly criticized, much like the AI is being criticized now.

That, or he uses it as jerk off material for how the Forza series is the devil incarnate, I don't know.

Imagine if every person wasn't able to give feedback about the franchises they are fans of. Did you enjoy the GTS sounds? You can thanks fans who are able to critize their favorite games for that. Developers can only listen when we voice our opinion.
Again myself i have pointed out some problems that in my opinion need an improvement such as physics etc so you are talking to the wrong person... the problem with these guys it's all they do is to "criticize" the game always and in any case. Just see the guy before criticizing the IA (that yes it is slow and ehatever you want) but on the other hand he was praising en equally slow IA just because it was a different game and not GT... you even have have people like @Samus complaining why they don't explain physics improvents in a trailer that was about graphics and other absurd things jist because they have to find something to complain...These people are here not because they are fans but because they absolutely hate GT or Polyphony for whatever reason

I would like GT to be better. Maybe a surprise to you, but I still enjoy the old GT games, and can play and enjoy them within the context of their time. You know what I hate? Playing GTS, and likely GT7, and seeing the same gameplay in effectively same state that it was in with GT4, all because Polyphony does not want to spend the time actually modernizing the series to better compete against its natural competition, and instead fall to the whims of an 'auteur' who believes he has the will to change the genre he considers himself the king of, when that hasn't been the case in close to a decade.

It may be a shock to you considering how brazenly you defend GT for no good reason, but I call things as I see it, and will give GT props when it has earned it. But Polyphony as a developer have had very bad habits of ignoring problems until they are nearly unavoidable, and when it comes to AI, like sounds, they seem intent on going down the same road.

Just stop lying about this, when someone (me) is talking about racecraft and not pace, and clearly and repeatedly states that, when you ignore that and falsly claim it's about something else you are being deliberately misleading.

Once again no, and these personal attacks will not stand, you don't get to just label anyone you disagree with as doing so based on 'hate'.

It's a personal attack and the AUP is clear that it's not permitted.

This to me looks like we can put decals on the windows now.

These bodykits are really exciting, I just wonder how they will deal with adapting custom liveries to different bodykits (maybe a livery will be tied to a specific body kit option and not usable on other "kits")

edit : on a side note, I really appreciate that these shots from "car customization" and "car maintenance" have a great lighting, really better to appreciate paint materials and details than the 3 differents scene settings we have for the garage in Gt sport, where the light and cameras angle were not always great

Exactly.

There are many things Gran Turismo of today does very well. The graphics are on the whole, brilliant. The livery editor they added in GTS was superb. Their fantasy tracks of old are some of the best. Their renditions of real world tracks are mostly superb. The sounds are now very solid. The handling of cars are equally solid. The control/feel on a Dualshock is excellent, best in the business by far. I could go on, but these are the reasons I'm still here with the series.

If I thought the whole game was a complete lost cause, I'd have given up years ago like I do with any game series. I'm not constantly posting on a Final Fantasy forum how much I entirely dislike the games after X-2, I just don't play them any more.

But equally there are many things GT doesn't do well (IMO, of course) and it's just natural that these are going to be discussed more often. There is only so many times you can say the graphics are still looking superb and it doesn't add much to discussion. But if they show poor AI again, or the same single player format, or the same unchanged license tests, or anything else I don't like, then I'm going to share my disappointment each time I see it.

Because as been said, without people telling PD they don't like aspects of the game, they're less likely to change it. Without pretty much every review of GT6 highlighting the poor sounds would PD have made the effort to make wholesale changes? Maybe not.

If someone else enjoy the aspects that I/others don't like, that's their right of course. But the correct response to someone criticising something you like is to explain why you like it/and or think it's good, provide an opposing POV. Not to just label the other person as a hater because they don't share your opinion.

The car condition aspect of the game looks interesting, I can’t wait to do zero maintenance on some pos just to see what happens.
I'd be truly disappointed if they haven't finally changed the way maintenance works so it makes a bit more sense.

No oil changes should result in higher engine temps. Even if the game doesn't have a simple engine temp simulation, it should at minimum lower fuel mileage, and even after a point start damaging your engine to the point of needing it restored. In previous games, not changing your oil made no difference to your engine health, just power numbers.

Once the engine needs to be restored, you should start experiencing misfires, vacuum leaks, and more side effects associated with an unhealthy engine.

If they put that much effort into it when you could just treat your car decently it would be a waste of resources.

That's not how the racing line for approaching a left hand corner works. You also totally ignore the fact that the player is making a move to pass on the right, which would mean that defending to the right would totally be the correct thing to do. The AI instead simply sits in on the racing line, allows the player to draft them and makes no attempt to defend a move on the right.
It is how you approach the a left corner if you are going defensive and you have a car attempting to pass with overspeed and potential overlap...you literally want them to move there car to the right!!!.....you are forcing them to outside to take the longer, more difficult and more dangerous line.....there is not a driver in the world that would do what you say.....your logic is effectively giving an open door to the attacking car. If you move right before the overlap occurs, which is what your saying you should do, the attacking car just moves left, gets overlap and takes the inside line which is a far easier overtake to complete!!!

Watch just about any overtaking attempt in real world or sim racing....in 99.9% of the time the defensive car covers the inside line

It's not and following the line isn't a defensive position, and it's far from 'elbows out'
Its not following the racing line, its to the left of the racing line as the player car is on the racing line and the fact the player gets knocked off by the AI car.....a consequence of being put in a dangerous place by the AI cars inside line i would constitute as elbows out.
Well newsflash.....today i learned that 99.9 percent of real and sim drivers are incompetent when it comes to defensive driving!!!
I shall take my new found knowledge of "leaving the door wide open defensive technique" into my next race
I note no refutal on what i said about this race
Re-read the AUP before you attack another member again.
Sorry i forgot its 2022

Knowing that you are a fan of forza it is hilarious seeing you complaining about gameplay whereas turn 10 games are absolute dog**** in this aspect and not having seen a single negative comment about forza judging by your posts history...and you expect me to take you seriously when you say that you want GT to be better?

How many times does it have to be said it's not permitted before action is actually taken for once? I don't think I've ever seen so many free passes given.

Wait, so you have to criticize another game in the exact same sentence even though it has nothing to do with Gran Turismo? That's just...dumb. Why does Forza always have to be brought up by you when everyone is talking about Gran Turismo in a Gran Turismo 7 thread? You're literally the only one to ever bring it into question in a thread it doesn't need to be in.

I've just checked, the Skip Barber Racing school doesn't agree with you.

You also forget that the attacking car in this case was already to the right, the defending car did nothing at all and was passed easily, quite literally any defence would have been better than the zero that was attempted here.

Not if doing so allows the car to pass on the right, what any real world driver would do is something to defend, rather than the nothing at all that was done by the GTS AI in this example.

The player car is on the racing line because the AI car failed to attempt to break tow or defend the line.

The AUP is unchanged in that regard since I first joined in 2003, which means it's unchanged since 2010 when you joined, nor is it optional.

I've seen lots of personal attacks with the words "moron" etc thrown around by both people who are happy with the state of GT and those that aren't. There is no reason for us to insult each other's intelligence for our opinions on a video game series we all enjoy to one extent or another. I'm sure it's very off putting to those that come here to discuss the game but instead see pages of vitriol.
