With other GT games you could sidestep grocery getters by golding licenses or simply buying a better used car (FC RX7 or A70 Supra oh yeah) but from what they're describing here it seems a lot more limited.
Exactly. Circuit Experience give gift cars in GT Sport. Race cars and road cars. If that’s the case in GT7, there’s a potential 30+ cars right there.

Those of us that pre-ordered, porobably won’t be able to use the GT3 RX-V and GT500 Supra for a good while. The Living Legend car will sit in the garage. As for the flag livery GR Yaris, that might be able to be used early on.

Have we seen any evidence of prize cars?

Not seeing the big picture yet, but with with career mode are we being led blindly from one event to the next event without seeing the overall picture

Remember that in GT6 online lobbies/Quick Matches don't unlock until National A license and community features don't open until you get B license.

Also, I am going to bet everyone is on level 5 or so by a week of gameplay.

Levelling looks to be by winning the cars rather than experience for racing itself.

I'm pretty sure the screenshots of gran-turismo.com is from a slightly newer build. I think these new HUD icons act as oil and car wash indicators?

In hindsight the actual offline career might've been worth talking about in state of play instead of music replay

Not sure if this has been discussed but I just noticed in Super GT's video that the Trial Mountain race with the Swift, Datsun, RX-8, and others was actually Daily Race A. It's labelled right up top, 12 slots just like the current Daily Race A, but unlike the current race which is nearly always single-make, this Daily Race A allows customized garage cars. With GT7's tuning system it would obviously be possible to BoP modified cars but it's still pretty unexpected to allow this.

Very cool. This is the kind of variety I've been craving. The BoP system works very well for me as a B-skill driver so I've been wanting this feature for a while now.
I think BoP as we know it is only going to be used for balancing Gr. classes.

Performance Points will more than likely be the new 'BoP' for road cars. I prefer this, because PP existed in the past PS3 games to allow for more grid diversity and tuning. It's going to be lots of fun in Sport mode trying to make specialized builds that work best on certain tracks. The tuning in GT7 seems good enough that it will allow lots of possibilities, and creativity.

Indeed. Thing is, we have to remember Kaz started as a budding photographer/film maker for Sony. The visuals in terms of presentation and replay style were always priority. ;)

I love how regardless if you pre-order the game or just buy the standard game, odds are you will likely be using a Toyota Product as the useful car to get you through the first bits  The product placement is so Subtle..

I'd bet Level 4 would be attainable within not just a day, within even the first 20 minutes probably.

From all the material I've seen, these appear to be from a build that ranges from January 17th to the 28th

I'm thinking we'll be able to do it either way but PP is the tool that BoP uses in order to work. I think the career mode races will all have PP limits but custom and online races will have the option for BoP. It could be set manually or automatically - you could either set a PP limit which implies that some cars will be under the limit and slower, or you could set an automatic BoP which would adjust all cars to a precise PP. If the updated PP system is as accurate as they say it is then I don't see why it couldn't simply be set to a certain number and automatically adjust each car, assuming it's got the right parts of course.

Yeah but what gets me is that Music Replay isn't even good!

Changing the camera angle on the first beat of every one or two bars looks choppy and doesn't make the transitions pop because it's happening all the time. It doesn't look organic, and it isn't. It has to be smarter than just transitioning on the first beat for that concept to work.

If you look at one of the best bits of automotive cinema there are several times where the shots transition on the first beat of the bar, but it's almost never twice in a row. If it was done like in Music Replay it would look just awful.

You're going to cancel a game over THAT? lol
The thought has crossed my mind as well. Not solely because of the faces, but because of the extremely alien vibe they bring to game. Clean presentation is a big part of Gran Turismo, but all those random faces add intrusive clutter. I sincerely hope they are an optional help tool, but much of the footage shown so far makes it look like they take the spotlight at every given opportunity. It would drain my soul very quickly, because for me GT is all about unwinding on my own terms.

They are there to introduce people to features, you won't have to see their faces everytime you enter Brand Central.
The most you will see is probably on GT Café

I think previews have been held already (french youtuber) or currently ongoing. I would expect hands on Last 2 wks of feb. Probably right after horizon reviews. I dont see this releasing without a **** load of media articles and videos detailing every aspect of the game. Especially influencers. Pretty sure supergt or slap will have videos 2-3 weeks before release. We're probably 2 wks away from having all the answers and a month from actually playing it

Just features? Then why does this “Andi” guy teach us about the Toyota Aqua specifically? This suggests that every little piece of content is accompanied by a face at least once. In that case it will take forever to settle into an uninterrupted groove.

It's purely something that's there to explain things to new players as a one-off, but god forbid that non-L33T GT players buy the game???

I, for one, strongly maintain my plan to get at least two of each car in the game - at least for most models - with one to leave as-stock and another to modify out the wazoo, including liveries, body parts, and so on. But I'm not sure if I mentioned it before that I plan to buy as few cars as possible throughout the campaign, with a plan to acquire new cars through license tests initially, then through prize cars. I don't know how much I'll even modify these cars until I've progressed as far as I can. Hopefully, we'll be given some credits to start, and then we'll have to pick a car from a dealership, rather than being gifted one at the start, but if we do, I'd still be fine with something like that Honda Fit we got in GT6, rather than the completely random car we were gifted upon starting GT Sport.

I bet there could be some sort of limit on which licenses you can do at the start, so I'll just nab my B license first, ideally obtaining all-golds, of course.

Man, every time I look at GT7, I feel less inclined to even bother with this final, "Road to GT7" championship in Sport. It seems like there will be absolutely zero reason to play Sport when GT7 launches, even in the context of getting GT7 on the PS4 like I plan to.

It was puzzling that the music wasn’t in sync like the past music Replay.

It is, but it leads to World Circuits. There are no campaign menus like this:

latest

They don't exist. The events are, as already said, reached via World Circuits.

By process of elimination that is what the chequered flag icon is.

And we already know what World Circuits menu looks like:

That is it. That's where we find all offline racing content. It's a bold choice. A lot of casual fans might think there is no career mode again.
I know it doesn't look the same but it serves a similar function. It's effectively the "Go Race" menu.

Won't need to BOP the cars if there's a PP limit.

Previews? The only "preview" so far was the media event and Q&A last week before State of Play which you can find all over the front page of this site. Nobody's been playing any of it yet.
Ive heard otherwise from a dude named julien chieze today.. clearly implying he had played it and would talk about it soon. I dont believe theyll release in the wild like that honestly.

I wonder what sort of cars they'll gift? They were virtually random in GTS. And I think we'll be tasked with driving various Gr.3/Gr.4 cars for the actual tests, with the occasional car outside those groups like the 919 for Le Mans. Personally, I think we shouldn't be necessarily gifted the car we drove for each Circuit Experience, but a car that's more closely connected with the circuit.

For examples:
Goodwood Circuit - Jaguar E-Type
Suzuka - Honda NSX Type R '92
Fuji Speedway - Lexus RC F

And so on.

L33T GT Players? Please clarify.

Regardless of how it might work, I don’t like this style of presentation.

A nice difference is the short clip of Circuit Experience, we see the Zonda R is being used. Not sure if that’s a user car or provided. Makes a nice change if various cars can be used.
