You could have 20 million credits and it still won't allow you to buy a Miata if it's not actually there in the UCD. That's how the UCD works.

But to me personally it seems like we'll be forced to start out with the Japanese Compact Car menu book anyway. Don't forget that these menu books are (somehow) tied to events: buying an expensive car that is tied to a menu book with events that aren't unlocked yet might not be possible because it would soft lock the game. I guess it remains to be seen whether the menu book thing is completely optional and ignorable, or a linear event structure at the very core of the game. They've been really vague about that.
I said any car up to 1,520,000. From what we see in the UCD, there are multiple cars on each page. With my pre-ordered Cr. I can buy them all. That's how the UCD works. I can buy them.

Again, if we can't use any cars but the compact cars, to start the game and unlock other parts of the game, that's good he issue. The issue isn't if we can buy any car in the UCD.

If players not pre-ordered, they'd be limited to what they can buy. According to how the game supposedly starts.
If someone only has 20,000 Cr and a car other than the compacts, is available for 20,000, that PLayer may possibly be stuck if they own don't buy a compact car.

I think you'll find it very hard to buy a Miata in the UCD, if there is no Miata in the UCD. The same goes for every single other car in the game, by the way.

It's simply impossible to plan which car you'll buy at the start of the game at this point, especially if it's not one of the three Japanese compact cars.

C'mon, man? Obviously, if the car ain't there, it ain't there. What I'm saying is, we can buy any car in the UCD. The pics show:

The member that wants to buy the Mazda, can buy the Mazda. He has enough CR. to do it. However, by what is being said about the start of the game, He won't have enough CR. to then buy the required compact car.

Any of us players, that pre-ordered with the over 100,000Cr. bonus, will potentially be able to buy the twelve cars on that page with the Compact cars. We may not be able to use all but three of them, but we should be able to buy them.

The man is excited about buying cars he likes. Let him live.

With my pre-order money, I'll buy all three Japanese compacts, sell the Fit and the Aqua, keep the Mazda 2 and buy an Integra. Probably.

I don't mind going out of my way to complete the books. But I am now annoyed that the books are the only way to play this game.
Well, at least it's something different from the standard campaigns found in GT3 to Sport, even though I wouldn't mind it again. Plus, I guess it gives it more of a Pokecars feel this time around. -shrug-

I just hope that there are a ton of events at launch, though. GT6 felt really short to me when I beat it.

GT6 was far too short and I was very disappointed. If GT Sport's GT League is any indication, GT7's career will be as long as the older games and that's an exciting prospect.

What is this supposed to mean? Obviously the game is whatever you make it, especially considering the online racing. Remember back in the GT4 days when we all spent hours doing time trials just to set records and compare cars? Or tuning cars to invent our own race category? Or spending hours in Photomode and posting in our galleries? There are countless ways to "play the game" and do whatever you want to do within it.

But the one feature of the game that does have an ending is when you complete the collection menus 100%. The idea that you've suddenly beaten the game is ridiculous because next Monday we're still going to get a new set of daily races.

You guys are moodier than my buddy's wife during a boy's night out.

Yeah no-one is forcing you to complete each book, but you may not gain access to certain content if you don't.

And what is this supposed to mean? You mean like how you may not gain access to certain content (more cars) if you don't complete races to earn credits? Is that not an obvious aspect of literally any game, completing goals in order to access more content? That's how daily life works lol. You may not gain access to certain content (peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) unless you go to the grocery store and collect all three necessary items. I don't see how anybody could possibly be upset that in order to feast on peanut butter and jelly you must first acquire peanut butter, jelly, and bread.

Do things, and get things in return. I don't understand what point either of you are trying to make.

I enjoy GT4 in its entirety, but I'm saying with GT7, you don't get to do whatever you want within it. You must buy or acquire whichever cars are in your booklet to continue to the next phase of the game, and are restricted content until you do so. You can't complete races at St. de Criox until you get three small cars...

You can't unlock tracks, which are apart of the "campaign"

Thats pretty much the point he was making. Did you quote the wrong post?

AFAIK Kaz said that completing all the collection books gets you the "so-called ending" of the game, and the upper-right corner of the UI displays your collection level, so I do think it'll be quite important. I think there were 30 books, too.

EDIT: Does anyone have a list of what collections we've been able to observe so far? I know there's one for Chevrolet, where we need to get the Corvette (C4) ZR-1, the C7, and the C3 Convertible. There were also the ones for Japanese Compact Cars, French Hot Hatches, Kei Cars - and at least one for Japanese Sports Cars, maybe multiple.

EDIT2: There's also a collection for the 86, and Nissan Sports Cars.

What are you taking about? You can choose Matia because Sundaycup has no restrightions. Sundaycup gona give you a price car... That price car is the Demio, so you can go trought.

Afther that, probably you gona unlock some championship. Actually, they show how the player is lievel 2 in he is playing a Goodwood. So, yeah, part is evidence and the other part Im assuming but with the trailer content.

So I dont hace worries, only the IA but GT 7 seems hace the best campaing. A lot of sense of progresion.

Edit: And like the guy above of me, GT café doesn't have all the cars, so is ridicolous to think we are gona get a linear campaing, yeah maybe we gona pass to some obligatory races, but its like all games.

I like the idea of a car cafe and how progression works. Imagine if they release new cars and they have to be unlocked in the cafe menu by participating in new racing/championships events. This is a much more engaging gameplay loop than just acquiring them like it was in GT sport and not using them at all.

I was thinking the same, I hope they do that.

You have seen more menus than I so far, but there is also one with 3 Porsche 911's.

Same, it is an interesting way of playing. Not only is it a different way of progressing but it's going to also push us to driving cars that perhaps we otherwise wouldn't and thereby experiencing more cars than we typically would in a rock box campaign mode.

And your point on DLC is spot on, much easier to add new menus to give more weight to new cars and car packs.

So, the more i read into the ''new style'' of career the more i get excited !
The reason for that is you actually don't know what will come next.
The more you play/race the more you unlock....Not Bad.

While tracking capture dates, I noticed the January 27 screencap from GT.com has one less scape than the December 15 capture from SoP:

unknown.png

As it stands the dates seen are as follows:

November 30-December 1, 2021
December 15-17, 2021
January 8 and 13-15, 2022
January 27, 2022 (GT.com only)

The similar UCD listings between the Japanese flyer and the used car segment of the SoP makes me think that it was also captured from that build and/or tutorial UCD lineup may be fixed. (EDIT: Maybe possibly for demo purposes given they're like that too in the GT1 Test Drive demo. Also the flyer has wishlist flag that was removed in the SoP build.)

EDIT: Wait, there's some reduction in number of scapes. The PS Showcase trailer listed 2671 scapes while the "Behind the Scenes: Scapes" video mentions 2568 scapes, but that one was captured from a builder older than the PS Showcse build.
