Just noticed from the screenshots that the FF Challenge and FR Challenge are labelled as ‘Japanese FF/FR Challenge 450’. Anyone have any thoughts on this??

I assume the Japanese part limits it to Japanese cars, but what about the 450?

Could just be pre-release stuff that isn't quite final. It makes sense for it to be a PP limit as I can't think of anything else it would be.

Exactly. I also think this is PP limit, but event graphics are not final so "no PP Limit" is shown. In final game this could be different.

This thing looks so real

If it's anything like the older games 450PP is what all the other cars will be using but you can enter whatever you want.

GT6 had Super GT300/500 Championship which had those as the AI cars but you could enter any car up to 550PP/650PP.

Come to think of it, since the AE86 Shuichi Shigeno is pretty much confirmed, we'll finally be getting the analog gauges instead of the digital dashboard for the AE86.

Or... Actually, we'll get the version on which the RPM gauge is customized. Who knows, perhaps we might be able to add other gauges as in Gran Turismo 6?

It looks like a competition between some world tour finalists and an AI

No way... this could be big! Maybe this is the reason why Kaz was so quiet around the AI topic?

Or it could be something underwhelming like a car designed by AI or something like that.

Yep, one of the reasons I'm so excited to drive it again!

Call me a weeb or whatever, but I think the analog gauges look better than the digital ones that were included in the Apex trim of the car. It just feels like it fits the AE86 more, Initial D aside.

Curious, but it's a Sony trailer with Sony logos. Whilst I'd like nothing more than it to be an AI revolution for GT, I think it's more likely Sony and PD have worked together on...something else.
It's got origins in a story that ran here a while ago.

Sony AI is a part of Sony that looks at AI across a wide range of applications, they did teach an AI to get stupid fast times in GTS, which is only one part of 'good' AI in a racing title.

What remains to be seen here is if this is a time trial race (which is not that interesting if I'm honest) or an actual race, in which case the AI will need not just pace, but race craft (which is interesting).

Yeah, AI can refer to so many things, in the case of Sony in this regard it could even he to do with their TVs, some kind of intelligent colour grading or gaming response for Sony TVs that can be demoed in Sony's next big IP game release.

If it wasn't connected to GT they wouldn't post it on Gran Turismo Twitter page. But I'm ready to be disappointed.
Well it would still be related to Gran Turismo but in the sense they've done something that uses Gran Turismo/PDs game engine, like the thing @Scaff posted up there.

I just feel like if this was something coming to the game the trailer would have Playstation and GT logos at the start/end, not just the ones seen in that video shot of PD HQ.

This is the interior of Shigeno's Trueno as of 2015. Could this help you a bit?

I enjoy GT4 in its entirety, but I'm saying with GT7, you don't get to do whatever you want within it. You must buy or acquire whichever cars are in your booklet to continue to the next phase of the game, and are restricted content until you do so. You can't complete races at St. de Criox until you get three small cars...

You can't unlock tracks, which are apart of the "campaign"
Again, I'm not really sure why you've jumped to this conclusion that we have to unlock career mode tracks via Cafe collections. There is no precedent to suggest that is the case. There is precedent to suggest that Cafe collections will unlock arcade mode tracks, because unlocking arcade mode tracks over time has been a staple of Gran Turismo since at least GT2. I see no evidence that your assumption is actually true.

Career mode and arcade mode are one and the same in GT7. You need to unlock tracks to complete events there. They can be official events (e.g. Sunday Cup, Clubman Cup, etc) or custom events, which are arcade mode races.

They are one and the same, that's why. There is no arcade menu like old games. There is no career mode menu like old games.

If you want to drive offline on a track, in any form, you have to go through World Circuits. If you can't select High Speed Ring like this because it's locked, then you can't do any of the activities listed, including the career mode events and all the stuff below.

About that AI stuff, if it is indeed an actual race between AI and the PRO drivers, it could be interesting to look at the race craft, the pace is there for sure, we saw it from the research paper that was published a while back, they managed super-human times.

We don't really know the specifics to be honest. I would love something similar to ANNA (MotoGP) for GT7, but it's taxing to do real time AI, and the PS4 is already at its limits, GT looks better than MotoGP on PS4, I'm not sure they have so much headroom...On the PS5, maybe. Anyway, really curious about it !

Will there be no way to enter events outside of individual tracks ? I would much rather be able to select an event that includes multiple track than the opposite.

I wouldn't want anything like ANNA, MotoGP AI is rubbish. F1 2020/21 would the hope but it isn't gonna happen.
