A Hong Kong media published what appears to be slides from a GT7 media presentation that's different from the SoP video.

Nothing we haven't seen before, but seems like we can toggle between frame rate and ray tracing mode for replays like in GTS, and completing the "menus" at the Café will unlock the ending video.

Speaking about tracks, going by the suggestions https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/tracks.340/?order=first_post_reaction_score&direction=desc Sorted by Likes, Interlagos is the only top 10 out of the top 35 tracks on the first page. Barcelona and Goodwood, are on the next page, but at the bottom of the top 75. Willow Springs, Red Bull Ring and Autopolis are on page 3. Not to mention, Albert Park has more likes than Red Bull Ring, 61 Likes to 58 likes, respectively.

For sure it’s harder to gather track info over cars, but I guess PD have their hands full on what to include. Maybe they’ve got real world circuits coming fast and steady over the next, potentially, four years.

In this case, new layouts on the streets of Tokyo, such as Shibuya Crossing, Ginza and Akihabara.
Doesn't matter where it's based so long as it's a good layout and looks nice. All the original tracks didn't have a real world setting and that was perfectly fine.

Personally I'd like another track that suits cars with 200hp or less, which was the appeal of Trial Mountain and Deep Forest before they extended them and sharpened several corners.

I find the Nordschleiffe very pleasant to drive with 180-200 hp :)

I fully agree more tracks for lower power cars would be great but I wish they would add more smaller variations of existing circuits for that. Two such examples I really enjoy in other racing games are :

* the Club Circuit of the Red Bull Ring (as found in the GRID games)

* the Müllenbachschleife of the Nürburgring (as found in the Project CARS games)

Then there is also the Club Circuit in Barcelona (as found in Forza Motorsport and other games).

Seeing how the main GP circuit layout is already in GT7 for these examples I would assume that licensing and development time/cost would be significantly lower than adding new circuits? Not that I think they should do this instead of adding new circuits, it just feels like it’s a great benefit for a relatively small effort. The only downside I can see is that these circuits don’t have a pitlane but that just means they need to be disabled for endurance races. But they would be a joy to start off your GT7 career in those lower powered FF Japanese small cars.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit unfortunately. PD just gets on my nerves whenever they do blatantly anachronistic stuff like this. Don’t even get me started on the 2013 Veyron.
Don't forget the Porsche 962 C as well, the model depicted in-game is from 1985, while those from 1988 have the Shell/Dunlop livery. And also the Aston Martin DBR9, the livery is a fictionalized version of the car that raced in Le Mans in 2008.

Really hope Bathurst has had some good attention, has to be one of the worst looking tracks on Sport. Infact.. has it been shown off at all?

I don't recall seeing any footage of it.

Really? It's one of the most memorable tracks in GT history and a lot of people like it.
And it's an original track that PD can't change it,so no change of complaints like the new Trial Mountain

I was watching Emily Jones stream about the state of play and she pointed out that the footage about stars and planets might be showing Bathurst at night

Funny, got the same feeling from that footage and i wasn't exactly searching for Bathurst gameplay at the time but i got Bathurst vibes from it.

I'll have to check out this Emily jones stream if its on youtube.

Part of me does hope that some of the remaining layouts of the 91 or so are in fact new layouts of existing tracks. I would like Suzuka West to come back and get the shorter version of Tsukuba Circuit. The shorter layouts of Barcelona would be welcomed as well, I had no problem with them in Forza.

The problem with that is that PD should have put more of a focus to add more than just 4-5 returning tracks at launch. That's not quite the upgrade I was expecting and they had a couple of years to do this between 2019 and now. They shouldn't be only able to develop 5 tracks in that time when during GT Sport's dlc cycle, they were able to pump out more than twice that in the same time frame.

At least for the car list, I can justify that in my head with Polyphony spending time giving the new cars plus existing cars some visual upgrade parts. Which could definitely take away from the potential modeling time that they had before. Tracks though, I can't think of anything. I would say that maybe they revamped some of the tracks and adding variable time/weather caused that, but I don't know. It just puzzles me.

Well, they want to make sure they fall under FIA regulations, but even that I'm not 100% on board since I think they aren't the main partnership with 7. Could be wrong...

If you're talking about the fictional tracks, that's a massive "nope".
Stephane Fillastre (FIA Head of Brand)
Fantasy tracks is something completely different. We leave Gran Turismo with that, and we feel that’s right.

Not to mention the FIA isn't involved with GT7, right?

Actually, I remember Kaz said something that the surfaces of the tracks having curbs as large as an entire car, so therefore, the PS3-era assets weren't good enough to work with on the PS4 and PS5, thus, requiring Polyphony to re-work and re-imagine these tracks.

We don't know yet, but I'm guessing not anymore. Strange. I wonder how Sport mode will work then?

As admirable as I think the Scapes feature was in GT Sport and as much as I'm impressed with its evolution in GT7, I don't know if I'll really be using it much. I think I'll mostly use it to showcase cars with various custom parts equipped, rather than cars left as-stock. To be honest, I think a car's place is on the track, so I think that when I take photos in GT7, the overwhelming majority of them will be Race Photos, whether they're taken during campaign events, time trials, or missions.

But man, am I hyped for the game otherwise.
