Hmm. Wonder if they'll introduce Sophy into the game at a later date with the return of B-spec. I quite enjoyed that back in the day.

Interesting option in the Extreme Tab, taken from a stream.
These are the actual menu of it

Wasn’t he supposed to be banned from yesterday’s stream?
I was never convinced by that. When his game went offline it coincided with the announced time the servers were to go down for maintenance. His previous streams were removed but he's using an alt PSN user on this stream just in case as far as I can tell. Saying that, his painful lack of skill and knowledge is cringe. I felt myself crawling into myself when he asked what the difference between low, mid and high RPM turbos is. Kaz seems to be getting his wish of attracting newbies.

The thing that so far has made appreciate gt7 more is the fast loading times. Not that I’m not liking what I’m seeing but not having to wait almost a minute to get into a race is gonna be sweet.

tbh new Trial Mountain is better than old one! It remained rocky, and by far the least ''shaved'' track. Layout changes don't ruin the track at all

Yes, I've played them. Perhaps you misunderstand, I'm not talking about the physics of the game or even performance of the AI. Just the fact they feature a racing format that broadly resembles real racing, whereas the GT single file, spaced out rolling starts and catch up format does not resemble real life at all.

Imagine if the next F1 game had every Grand Prix start with a rolling start, you coming over the finish line as Lewis Hamilton was already in T3. It'd be stupid.
There are games that offer a more realistic, hardcore racing sim experience than GT, and I think Polyphony is fine with that. If they wanted to make the game a hardcore sim they could, but that's not really what GT is about any more, if it ever was.

If engine swaps are indeed in the game it doesn't look like they're in the tuning shop. Perhaps some stuff has been swapped around between the shop and GT Auto.

He’s getting there. At least today is actually playing the game. Yesterday he was all over the place.
True. It's a bit mind numbing seeing him unable to find settings I watched him find and adjust last night though. He's remaining calmer with the constant irritating requests in the chat than I would though.

Trial Mountain is getting Wide Body treatment in GT7.

The real test is the PS4 version.

I dread to think what people who’ve invested loads in wheels and racing seats etc must feel
I would imagine the majority are like me and don't limit ourselves to a single title, as such 'we' feel just dandy.
That is unless PD takes the GTA update model with this down the road, and markets each very significant update as a new game and charges a bit for it.
Rockstar has not done this at all. DLC for GTA V has not been chargeable, rather they focused on Microtransactions to bring in revenue, very much like PD/Sony have done for GTS.
The evidence is they don’t have NEARLY the market share that Gran Turismo has on a large scale
No, just no. That's not a logical argument at all, if you're going to come up with stuff like this, you at the very least have to explain what reasoning got you to that point.

I don't want or expect a hardcore sim. All I want is:

  • Either Grid starts or realistic double file rolling starts for every race
  • Tight entry restrictions and AI cars all at the maximum limit so they can all win
  • Fast AI that battles and wants to win
  • consistent levels of difficulty from start to finish.

I don't think that is expecting much. GT itself used to do most of that, ironically.

Having realistic starts in a title does not make it a hardcore sim.

By that, rather odd logic, GT1 to 4 are hardcore sims, and GT5, 6 and GTS are not.

I'm aware that grid starts do not a hardcore sim make, I was referring more to the general point that several have made about wishing GT offered a more accurate sim-like experience with a stronger focus on racing.
