I second this. It's incredibly tiresome reading a thread to read genuine discussion only to see that about 20-40% of it is just one guy being overly argumentative about a game he clearly dislikes...
So the new layout of a track isn't genuine discussion? Well, I do apologise that it doesn't meet your standards for genuine discussion. Feel free to post a list of what I can comment on in future, thanks.

If you or anyone else doesn't care for what I post, don't reply. It's quite simple. If someone does reply, I'm gonna reply back. Don't like it, feel free to ignore.

oh my god, there's an ignore button! 😱

you've blown my mind

I have a theory based on what I am seeing with the game so far: The entire GT Cafe aspect is by default supposed to be easy as that's is what introduces new players to the game and to cars in general. Notice all the races as well as tasks the player does is really easy (Do this license test, take a photo in scapes, etc) while the other events past the beginner stuff actually does get gradually harder. I don't have the game myself (and boy do I wish I did right now), but that's the impression I get from what I have been seeing so far.

Also, not feeling the new Alsace configuration. I'm already not a fan of the track to begin with (Just never liked it) so that probably doesn't help but for me this is simply no better. Likewise, the new one at Lago Maggiore is also just not for me. Original was fine and the shorter layouts are okay but this one I'm just not feeling it.

that's definitely the case, it's here to have a progressive launch, it's also unlock some features like Antique dealer, so basically, we start with gt cafe, finish it, and only then we can enjoy the full game with all the feature

I was looking back at justps2game's videos on Twitch and while his whole streams are taken down by Sony, some of the smaller clips weren't. Because of that, I was able to see a couple more interesting things I didn't see before.

The new Nissan Z has a widebody kit option. Correction on the Supra RZ, I think I might have been mistaking the alternate views for one widebody option. Sorry.

Also, custom grills are a customization option now. I saw custom grill options for the Supra and 1969 Camaro Z/28. One of the custom Camaro grilles gives it a normal Chevy badge in the middle instead of the Z/28 badge.

I had a friend, he wasn’t happy unless he wasn’t happy. Lol but i liked him a lot, saw value in him. I guess what I’m trying to say is though your negativity can get a bit much sometimes. You’re part of the gtplanet forum family and I like that.

I'm a big fan of tracks with elevation change. Love Sardenga B for that reason.

'Alsace - Village' also isn't my favourite circuit but it's awesome to have tracks like this to break up the monotony of a lot of the same tracks (especially flat ones) we get in every racing game under the sun (bored of Monza, not a huge fan of Silverstone etc).

Happy there's now a shorter variation too.

Just a general reminder,

Being critical of something, even overly critical does not correlate to hating something. I don't know where this rhetoric originates but it's certainly an odd one. I can be critical of GT all day long. I cannot stand how vapid GT Sport is in comparison to the older games, yet I still go back to it every now and again. Granted, those sessions typically don't last longer than 15 minutes across two or three nights, but the point remains.

If the so-called negativity bothers you so, use the ignore function and go on about your day — that's what it's there for.

On the topic of Alsace, I think I figured out why the roads are as extreme as they are.

I think that they are meant to be test roads designed by a car manufacturer as sort of a proving ground for their cars. That's why it has extreme elevation and unnatural levels of banking in places that wouldn't be there if the roads were designed only for public use.

I don't know the names of any of these types of road in real life, but I think Top Gear went to one. I have in my head it was the episode where Jeremy Clarkson drove a Mitsubishi Starion.

Please let me know your thoughts on this, or if you know of any examples similar in real life.

Edit: Found it!

I swear, they better have one of those 'cards' so I can jump straight into sport mode from the PS5 home screen. That feature is super convenient those times you remember to use it.

I used to see overly critical people as being hateful towards a product, but now I see it as just being passionate about the game as someone overly positive. Just that they want the game to be the best it can be. Kinda like an older brother being dissappointed at a younger brother for making so many bad decisions and thinking they can be much more. Like what Thor said to Loki in the Ragnarok movie now that I think of it.

I'm well aware that I'm a pessimistic kind of person generally, glass half empty or whatever, but it's not like I come here just to be negative. I come here to see what is happening with the game, and comment on what I feel like commenting on as I pass the time and try to forget the terrible things going on in the real world.

That new layout is something that stood out to me, so I made a comment on it. Someone else replied, and I replied, and so on. That's how discussion goes, of course I have no problem with people disagreeing with me and presenting opposing views, but some people (not you) just seemingly want to be judge and jury for who discusses what, no matter how many times the staff tell them they aren't, and it becomes frustrating after a while.

Trust me, I'm a grown adult with plenty going on in life, as well as what is going on in the world generally. I wouldn't be here if there wasn't still parts of the game that I enjoyed. Like I said, I still plan to buy the game, I still see a lot of value in it, just not £55 worth. It's a lot of money these days.

For other people they do see that value, and that's fine. Great. Happy for those people, genuinely. You don't see me telling them to stop being so excited and posting about things they like, because that would be absurd.

From the deleted streams so far, has anyone seen how long the race event list is? 'Cause that's pretty much my only concern with the game, really, since GT6 was so short.

Exactly, just cause these people dont react to a product they enjoy in the same way we do doesn’t mean they don’t love it or deserve to have their words spoken.

Car Customization and tuning is without a doubt the highlight when it comes to GT7. Polyphony took a page out of midnight club and need for speed because wow they are giving us a ton of options of how we wanna customize our vehicles which is a huge plus.

Unfortunately the rest of the game (outside of graphics and the weather simulation) looks underwhelming. Not many new tracks at all, a career mode that looks like it's gonna be boring again. I mean.....im not surprised, the past 3 gran turismo games have had mediocre career modes. The last career mode I enjoyed was GT4. The AI is still bad, online lobbies is still 16 players, no proper muti class racing....I think....? Correct me if im wrong. Just in general not many new features. I hope these upcoming updates are filled with 10 cars and 2 tracks per month along with a new feature because I can see this game getting kinda stale outside of customization and tuning of course. It's so frustrating that they wanna up the prices for these games but we're getting less nowadays.

There is no list/menu like the old games. Events just get unlocked one by one and appear within the track page when they're available, so there is no way to know how many there is until they stop getting added towards the end of the game, which nobody is at yet obviously.

I know what you mean. The world for many is just.. too tense. Games like GT and sites like GTPlanet can be a great escape to just take a breather.

That's kinda what I've been looking at GT7 for recently, something to help forget about the horrible things going on in the world. Lord knows I can't avoid that at work.

Though I say that about critics and at the same time, I admit to getting tired of it sometimes. But that's when I just scroll past the comments until I see something else.

EDIT: Okay, back on actual discussion regarding the game rather then discussing how people discuss.

There's one thing that's boggling my mind about GT7's car list, but I'll have to put this in spoilers due to the content being things only shown in the amazon copies.

Why weren't the Celica GT-Four, C7 ZR1, Genesis G70, nor Mercedes AMG GT Black Series shown in the state of play? I just find it weird that among the 400 cars shown in that one shot, they didn't appear there.

I recall Famine telling me how they're ordered by index. Which can range from their model names, to nicknames, to chassis codes, to whatever else. However with that said, I can't fathom how PD could order them where they don't appear in that shot. I mean, if you refer to the Celica by it's model type, the name, or even its chassis code; it should appear there, but it didn't. It's some odd oddity.

Did PD just not have them ready at State of Play or what?

I just scroll through them quickly unless I see a spoiler button or a photo/video.

Yeah it is, thank God!

Still seems to have not noticed the Arcade Mode option in the tabs. Whizzes straight past 'em and ends up doing mission races every time, just like yesterday.

Methinks this might partly explain the speed disparity.

Dont know exactly but similar are
(condensed versions)

-Bahnschrift
-DIN Next LT Pro
-Montserrat
Thank you for this. After comparing the text, It appears Bahnschrift is the exact one I was looking for 👍

I don't have a problem with it's videogameness, it just doesn't fit in the artistic style of the track location at all.

At Route X for instance, or any track in the middle of nowhere, it'd make more sense. But in the French countryside, we're supposed to suspend belief that someone would really build that? The original track was already pretty unrealistic with the highway wide roads but this takes it to another level.

It's not just the corner either, the whole thing looks bizarre and very much tacked on as an afterthought.

This reminds me a lot of the final corner that would often get generated in the Mt. Aso location in GT5’s course maker.

Looking at the top left, it seems that they replaced the fictional sponsor "Brighton Antiques" with Hagerty. Some of you may know Hagerty from the IMSA TV website as the advert that plays before you can watch the livestream. Also the "Hagerty Broadcast Centre"

Ah my insurance provider. I don’t think it’s anything indicative of new content, just a new sponsor appearing in the game.

It’s likely either because the cars weren’t quite ready for that build or they were intentionally held secret for more hype building. I’m still surprised the Celica even made it in time for launch actually.
