Bore-ups, anti-lag, widebody kits, paintable roll cages, lip kits compatible with widebody kits, headlight adjustments, tow hooks, a massive rim selection, offset and wheel width adjustment options, at least some engine swaps....

Customization-wise, they've smashed it.
Yeah, it might be the best customization suite available in any game out there. As far as a celebration of cars it seems amazing so far.

The thing is, it's a bit worrying that you can't put turbochargers and/or superchargers on any naturally aspirated car. I could be wrong though, but Polyphony should make it a possibility to bolt-on any forced induction on any car.

Was that a thing in 6? I don't remember day/night/weather changing dynamically between races. I thought you picked a set time and weather conditions upon lobby creation.
Granted, I’m not entirely sure what you mean, but there was a full 24h cycle in lobbies and the time and weather progressed between races, yeah.

Hopefully, this will eliminate the METAs with production cars. We don’t yet know how the A+ players will go when tuning and figuring out some of the best tuneable cars. So many choices of car and options. People will just have fun. A real track day atmosphere now.

A lobby would see a bunch of cars lowered with some parts and wheels. Now, we can make accurate replicas. Pride of some real kind of ownership. A bit of showing off, but making some truly unique cars. More than ever before.

That custom car video clip was awesome. Nice and classy surprise.

Love how you can give cars a proper stance now. The aftermarket wheels always looked odd on previous games.

I am so so hoping that cam upgrades increase the RPM range significantly :D
I kinda loved doing that to mostly-stocko cars in Forza Motorsport. Was pretty rad having say a Pontiac Transam with the 'race cam' in it and the car would sound like pushrods were going to grenade at its new redline of 9000rpm haha

In the tuners video they select the low rpm turbo kit for a C4 corvette, even if it had no price and therefore could not be purchased.

Could it be that we will only be able to install a turbo or SC after we have done supporting mods? Would make sense to force us to have a customizable ECU first at least.

It’s been a part of GT games since the beginning and I don’t see a reason they would axe it now.

Interview with Valentino Rossi from Everyeye.it. No subtitles, but it's essentially a promotion for the game. Here's a short summary, ignore typos:

  • He started playing games with Atari, Commodore, Amiga, PlayStation 1.
  • He's managed to play more these last few years thanks to the lockdown
  • Great memories about Gran Turismo, he believes it changed the way driving games were perceived
  • Anectode about a GP in Motegi (circa 2009) where he saw his first professional sim rig inside the paddock, took some pictures with Roberto Brivio (Suzuki team coordinator), and replicated it at home
  • chit chat about greater sense of speed, increased graphics and physics model, and how it's helped him now that he's driving GT3 cars
  • he felt oversteering has improved compared to "the old one"
  • while he's been at Spa numerous times, he's never raced on it so he has found GT7 useful to get the hang of the track
  • tried the DualSense, "very cool", realistic vibrations when on grass, kerbs, etc. but wheel can't be beaten
  • happy about the several ways to enjoy the game: driving, photographing, editing. Glad the game is closer to the old games, makes him feel young again.
  • He hasn't tried rainy weather
  • His favorite aspect of the game is probably the feeling of the car under heavy breaking when using the pedals, or feeling the car about to lose grip
  • In real life he'll be racing with Audi with WRT team in the upcoming GT World Challenge championship, 10 races (5 sprint, 5 endurance, including 24h of Spa. I'm sure folks here probably know this already)
  • He enjoys the social aspect of the game, like playing with his "GT buddies" at night
  • Feels the video game industry will continue to grow and become more prominent in the future

It's just me? But I can't wait to do my custom races against all the cars in my garage! It always seems like such an underrated thing, but think about how many chances we can get by racing against the cars in our garage... I can't believe such an option is finally available.
Is this really an option? I must have missed that.

Being able to play with all our toys at once is just fantastic!

Boy keeping up with this thread is like a full time job

The new Alsace rollercoaster turn reminds me a lot of Norway's Atlantic Ocean Road. It looks unrealistically steep from some angles but it's not that bad when you actually drive on it. IMO, it would be better if PD actually modelled the actual road, or have a new fictional circuit set in Norway instead of shoehorning it into Alsace where it doesn't fit. Seems like PD is just desperate to boost the track count with minimum effort.

Second point, regarding the Extreme Tuning options "New Engine" and "New Body". Apart from removing permanent upgrades like Bore&Stroke/Widebody/Rigidity Increase, I wonder if it also reset your car's mileage? Because in GT5/6 once you get past a certain mileage (12,000 km) you get a permanent power loss that cannot be reversed with the GT Auto's Engine Restore. Obviously this can wreak all sorts of havoc with online BOP racing if everyone's cars have a different baseline performance. So PD puts this option to return every car to stock form easily (because unlike GTS you can't just buy a 0 mileage car from the new car dealer for UCD/Brighton cars).

I'm glad the 250 GT SWB and Alfa TZ2 is cheaper than in GTS. The grind might not be so bad after all

Also an ad with Rossi? Tourist Trophy 2 incoming? :P

I must be misremembering GT6 lobbies. I thought the time and weather only changed during races and was fixed between races.

Has that actually been confirmed now? I'd never get bored again if true
