So the New Engine thingy, is that engine swap or not? There are people saying there is no engine swaps?
The new engine thing that's been seen in streams is a new stock engine, I guess cos after a certain mileage it can't be restored using the other/usual method.
We haven't yet seen engine swaps. It's not really that they aren't in the game, it's just that if they are we haven't seen where - same with endurance races, etc. We don't know where to look or how they're done yet or could be unlocked later in the game.

Oh I'm well aware. The issue, if you want to refer to it as such, is the embargo lifting two days before its release. Not four or five as is more or less the norm, but such a short amount of time that would cause people to immediately think "Well there must be something wrong here."

I'm pretty sure a dozen or so people expressed that sentiment here. I could give a few reasons why they're cutting it so close but optics are everything, especially for video games. There's no real gestation period, it's more or less "Here's our review, now go buy the game!"

Don't misunderstand, it's not something I'm particularly bothered by one way or the other, but I've seen this happen more than a few times and the reactions are almost always the same.
Even when it's not perfect on release date, PD is known for their commitment to the game and will fix bugs and even introduce new features players want, just like campaign mode on GT sport

It's just really weird if it's not in the game. They compared the stock beetle with the Porsche engine one in the tuning section of the State of Play.

The wait is killing me.

I knew I recognized that C4 from somewhere...

I can't believe it, they gave the C4 Vette the IMSA racing kit and an A.I. car has the Morrison Motorsports livery like on the RM in GT1 & 2. That's amazing!

Also YEEESSS, my Viper GTS has its GTS-R kit again! It's time to bring that car to it's full potential in GT7, it's time to replicate the Viper GTS-R Team Oreca, both the 1999 and 2000 versions.

That's awesome! But now it's a 1989 instead of 1990?

...oh no, I think they actually did the thing.

Has anyone seen the 300ZX in action? The '89.
It was an opponent in a race on an early stream when he was running in the overly-tuned burgundy Z on Tsukuba I think. Standard slow AI that he breezed right past. Most action I've caught of it on any of the streams.

Damn, I watched that race, too. Thanks for the assurance. I just want to see it in 4K.

Well they did the same thing with the 997 GT3, only backwards, so at least there’s an acknowledgment that they made a mistake initially

I mean, its only a year earlier but still close enough.

Almost. if anything, its ironically closer to the Racing Modification from GT1:

I wouldn't mind a female avatar figure

Ah yes, casual objectification.

iRacing has this feature -- you can choose a face and a body type, and it does make a huge difference. The fitment is very noticeably different especially now that racing suit manufactures are finally properly measuring for womens' bodies.

There's an obvious difference with the fitment, bit wider shoulders, bit bigger torso, all around different proportions. One is obviously based on an average male body and another based on an average female body. It can be ambigous but if it's only one set type like the one on the left, it's obviously just meant to be a male. Representation is important, I feel.
