Honestly, that would be much better if the game's economy wasn't so lackluster IMO. Ignoring battle passes which PD would never ever do, selling DLC (for a certain price not too expensive) would encourage them to keep adding in new cars every month (5 or 8 cars per month, why not). However, new tracks can remain free. Heck, GT can sell millions without the need of MTs. There is just no excuse to feature MTs again in GT7, like at all.
yeah you tell the Sony execs that the money we earn is enough, no need to earn any more! I am sure they will understand

The 20M Cr. cap is still a thing?

🤬 seriously? This is one of those obtuse, objectively idiotic design choices that prompts a "Who asked for this?" response.

"We want you to enjoy cars." "No! Not like that."
I wonder if they'll actually patch it out on the first major patch, or will kick the issue down the road for a major bought DLC as a 'prize'.

I was going to add a further comment suggesting it may be like GT5 and there's a 100M unlock at some point.

But I know better by now.

Might be one of those things where they wanted to encourage players to buy more cars and thought, "this is it".

in game riddle with micro transaction and very little payout. Unless you spend real money, you won't get to 20M Credit. You also can't sell your car for money. They are yours forever.

I love GT series but polyphony needs to change their ways.

Hmmm. That's not a bad idea. Players get free add-on content, so it's tough to complain. Plus, buying car packs may help fund additional car models to be added & sold, perpetuating the cycle.
At this point, I am quite certain that the bottleneck to release more cars is manpower and time as the fidelity of models used in GT is very very high. Its really not about deciding whether they will earn enough on those models. They added so many cars in GTS without charging for it, the expansion in their pipeline needed to ramp up modelling cars is not going to scale nearly quick enough for any MT money associated with them to be influential.

Never seen the point of that arbitrary limit honestly.

Haha nice sarcasm there, friend. Sony already has a big enough following to not study me. After all, they're a business like every other corporation. Money speaks loader than words they say. 😏

Don’t have a PS5 and shelved plans to look for one the minute GT7 was announced to be cross-gen, I’m aware that people like grinding for the exclusive cars but it’s never sat right with me that unless you’re prepared to spend ridiculous hours or paying real money then quite a lot of players will never get to drive them..and I’m sorry but if I’m spending north of £60 for a game then I expect that certain items will be attainable within a reasonable time frame..
i paid for MSFS which is where I spend 99% of my gaming time these days and I got every single plane available straight from the off, none of this ‘fly 6’000 miles in a single trip to unlock a Cessna 152’

Just my opinion obviously and good luck to those who grind like a female rappers booty but it just ain’t for me and the MT are actually offensive in my eyes after already paying a not insubstantial sum for the game in the first place

PEACE !!

I'm expecting at least tracks to be free,PD won't divide the playerbase like that.
Now cars might be a bit different.
I don't know if making car DLC paid is really a smart move either, I mean imagine those that play sport mode frequently and they can't access the dominating car because of paywall. That would divide the player base too and may cause poorer users to become disheartened and quit playing.

I

Is it tho?Thought the Evo IX was the most famous.Or maybe it's because i was bombarded with it in NFS and the fast and furious movies
I have no idea. You're right though, a lot of people probably associate the Lancer Evo with those very things. Perhaps it's due to the WRC crowd?

No, get that trash out of here.

Well, I am happy I could help you see why Microtransactions are in, they work. For every 10 people complaining about them online, there is 1 guys spending regularly on MTs. The money has spoken, its just that like me, you do not like what it had to say

Honestly for me the best balance is for devs to provide DLC tracks for free and charge for car packs. Tracks being free for all ensures that on-line remains as inclusive as possible, and quite frankly I'm happy paying for DLC car packs if it helps kill MTs.

My stance on them is fairly simple, they are a pox on the gaming world, one that should be killed, repeatedly, with fire.
I think everyone would agree that free would be better than MTX / paid DLC, but I guess its a question of economics.. could we afford every game to be (say) £250 ? The development budgets for games are insane nowadays.

Back to GT7, I suppose that if it had car packs it could lead down a P2W route ? imagine (in GTS terms) if the fastest cars were in DLC and you didn't stand a chance without them ? Granted, depends on which cars they put in it of course. Maybe its just more proof that there isn't really a perfect solution.

The only good thing in a connected world is that they can change the economics of a game fairly easily - odds of a good prize on a roulette wheel, prices of parts / cars, payouts for races etc could all be altered pretty easily.
