Not sure if this has already been discussed, but is there any reason to why PD would lessen the tire smoke effect?

People cry they couldn’t see…

I think its pretty clear they took out features to make the game progress "slower." They can release those same events in a month, 2 months, etc. and call it new DLC.

Keeps people from beating the game in a month and not returning.

This is certainly plausible, and if so, PD/Sony just keep racking up the scummy behaviour don't they?

I spent three days "completing" the game and nothing but HSR in a Gr4 since. Why oh why isn't there a new game plus? There are 10 championships and about a 100 or so single race events. It it really too much to ask that a prize car added to each event to give a reason for actually doing the races?

If they let you do custom races/champions, save the template, and then actually pay well.. I'd be set. I even tried out Custom Race yesterday and noticed they're half way there with the Garage option. It lets you pick whatever cars you want from your own garage to arrange and fill out the grid. I was able to pick all my own cars and it even used the liveries and everything. Surreal racing up to someone else driving the livery you just spent two days on lol Did 15 lap race on Deep Forest and it was fun.

Unfortunately, even on "Professional" the AI seemed to have trouble handling my stuff. But I think if I actually went in and balanced each car to a certain PP/Tire combo, it could be pretty fun.

I feel the marketing department saw the GT Sport content dripfeed with all the hype it generated, and then unfortunately decided to implement it in the worst way possible with GT7.

Removing events that previously were in the game is a really shady and inexcusable move by Polyphony.

Guess we know what happened to the rest of the Café Menus.

Yes, I've seen that a million times already, but the events were already there, ready for us to play and were removed simply to keep player engagement by adding what should be in the game in the first place as updates.

I mean, can you tell me a sensible reason for them to remove those events?

I assume this is part of Sony's live-service games strategy, at least they're dipping their toes in it that's for sure.

Nobody does rallying like GT7 in real life, though. The closest parallel is Rallycross and that isn't done on loose, dry gravel exactly because of the dust it'd create. So complaints about being blinded by dust was certainly reasonable.

Don't know why they also touched tyre smoke though, unless it's all tied together in their coding.

Have you finished the menus? I got a message after completion saying that the used car dealer will now update every 24 hrs. I don't think it will update prior to completing the menus.

i must agree the UCD has been quite frankly, abysmal, so far only things of note that are new that have been added in since are a model variant of the Integra and 2 Civic variants (including a non Gr4 race car)

it was updating fine prior to beating all the menus however, and it'll update the same way as it did prior to beating all the menus.

They need to change it back imo, at least for tire smoke. Dirt particles I don't care that much, but the tire smoke was phenomenal

Indeed, and the sad part is that so many are OK with it all. There is no doubt a lot of good things about GT7 but there is also a heck of a lot fundamentally wrong with it.

So far I've been taking every car to the Cafe just to see if someone there has something to say. If they're gone after the last Menu, I don't mind collecting all cars just to hear their wise words

Torrential rain at night at the Nurburgring is so good. Awesome amount of particles kicking up from the cars on v1.05. The 1.06 patch downgraded it a bit, I need to do more testing. Video was made on 1.05.

I would say to ask loudly in the official channels of PD/GT to restore the effects of smoke/water as before patch 1.06.

Yes it does. I have one with a Fanatec CSL Elite and Clubsport V3 pedals. Clutch seems to work as well.
