It's behind a paywall or something?
I think what people are trying to say is that because of the unbalanced nature of the game acquiring said cars to drive is a grind. Now I don't expect everything to be handed to me on a silver platter but I would expect to be able to earn enough money quick enough to buy the cars I want without resorting to MTXs. I paid for the game so at the very least som sort of balance in the game economy should be expected.

It's behind extremely tedious gameplay. You'd have to do the same race over and over for several hours to earn enough money for the multi-million credit cars. The Fisherman's Ranch Dirt Champions race, to be precise, since any other race is even (far) less efficient. And if you're on PS4 it'll take even longer too.

You know very well what I mean, but you're just going with the "want everything for free in the first week" straw man again.

It's going to take over 250 million credits to buy all the cars to just drive them. More to upgrade them. How long do you think that's going to take doing 15 minute races paying 5k credits?

Then you say GT isnt even about serious racing and fun is had elsewhere, well how on earth is that possible without racing to earn credits? Last I checked you don't get credits for spending time in Scapes.

This. And it isn't even because it's unbalanced, it's because there simply isn't enough actual game. There is significantly less events and races Vs pretty much every Gran Turismo of the past. Heck GTS tacked on a GT mode after launch that had more events.

Lower payouts etc isn't the problem at the moment with GT7, it's simply the lack of actual single player content. GTS had 301 races, 46 events, GT7 seems to have far less than this and certainly far less meaningful events.

I've always been a fan of that rhetoric. If people need to calm down with the "whining" (some of it is nonsensical, don't get me wrong), then the same courtesy (discourtesy?) extends to those praising the game.

It's only been out for one week -- how much is there to really praise?

I thought you were saying that the Nurburgring was behind a paywall. I hardly ever race there so I didn't know. Also not every car costs 1m credits. If you're a casual that only likes Ferraris and Lamborghinis and stuff and needs to have them NOW then sure, yeah, you're SOL unless you want to put in some work or pay actual money. I've been working through the menus and doing odd races and have had enough money to buy the occasional car and mod it as I like.

Let's say I am a casual that 'only likes Ferraris and Lamborghinis and stuff and needs to have them NOW'. What work am I meant to put in, exactly?

Repeatedly doing the same race for over three hours? Repeatedly doing a handful of races for over six hours or more?

Or literally getting a (second) job and putting in some work to get money to buy microtransactions with, which would genuinely be a faster way of earning credits than playing the game? It does seem like the game wants you to do this, actually.

I've been playing a lot of it and loving every minute. It's a fun game with great sound, beautiful graphics, it's challenging, quirky, and engaging. I'm glad they have held a little back so we can get a nice big update in a month or so.

Here one feature that I would love to return, from GT6 you could quickly select the option button from almost anywhere in the game and have access to your garage or car settings.
One thing I really hating with GT7 is having to constantly back out of menus.

If there are ever two things that are annoying the crap out of me are the issue with dirt tyres and the race regulations message. A menu like this would stop me from having to go all the way to my garage and change the tyres to be able to race on tarmac and stop me from having to go all the way to my garage to change car settings to comply with regulations.

It really seems with PD it's always 1 step forward and 2 steps back... nobody gets too far like that.

These are also chase the rabbit events, so not quite proper racing.
In a way, that’s like real racing. Everyone chases the fastest car to win. Many racers don’t win: talent, budget, car set up. If a players car isn’t fully tuned, there’s less chance to chase the rabbit. For these races, prizes are awarded for not finishing first. Again, yes, the object of racing is to win overall. However, racing can still be fun, by just seeing how well a player does, regardless of going for the win.

I didn't want an actual reply to that, you weirdo.

I was jesting at an earlier comment. Having said that, it is a fun game but I've been a fan of the franchise since GT2 (first game I owned; GT3 was my introduction as a whole but I didn't have a PS2 yet) and at my age I've grown tired of the "GT-isms". I don't want marketing fluff, I don't want half-baked ideas, nor do I want a racing game that thinks it's an RPG (CARPG) but doesn't fully commit to it.

I'm looking forward to the updates though. How couldn't I be?

I think the biggest headache of all I've dealt with this week is not being able to buy parts from the tuning page directly, I miss doing that so much.

Observing the state the GT community is in in multiple forums they really need to get their 🤬 in gear with the QoL updates.

I praise its ability to make GTP have pitched battles over it. 👍

I had an intense race with an AI 996 on the Porsche Cup at Spa. Used a lightly tuned 997 and couldn't beat it at first. The race for the first 4 laps was fun, but at the end I ended up t-boning the 996 in a desperate attempt to win since I wanted the prize car so bad.

They mean the very unrealistic common GT scenario in which the lead driver is thirty seconds ahead of the player (who always has to start in last) at the very start of the race, while the race is also only a handful of laps, with rubber banding. None of that happens in real life. It's not about always having to win (or even about rolling starts).

Does anyone know how the used and legendary car dealerships work exactly? Why are certain car's prices higher than yesterday? And what is limited stock based on?

I'm not finding it hard to get money, and I was getting 5 thousand tickets for the longest and now I’ve got 1 mill 500k 100k some nice tuning parts etc> Yeah some want fast easy money I guess from other games that's what the wave is, But I enjoy having to be careful with my money and appreciate when I save of for certain expensive cars. I mean look at the formula they have now? if we asked everyone to show what type of supercars they have, we all have different ones! there's going to be certain supercars I drive that my friends won't drive because the current invitation setup. Usually with other games everyone would prob have most supercars within two weeks release, it's not a bad thing but I appreciate the unique way PD does it. anyway, I hope you're enjoying the game because I sure am. I must have been a good man because they sent me this bad boy!
