I just finished the campaign, and I’m confused by the abrupt ending. I feel the whole thing ended 11 menu books sooner than it should. Then again, PD logic had to appear sooner or later.

Where were books themed around MR layouts, British cars, Lamborghini, Rotary Power, etc.? I also expected the IB and IA licenses would play a part in the campaign. The absence of Gr. 2 and Gr. 1 events is very strange as well. It’s an insult how there are no events on famous circuits like Monza and Le Mans. In general there’s just a shortage of varied things to do on most tracks.

I know more stuff will be added going forward, but currently the game feels too incomplete for a numbered GT title. Baffling.

Yeah I think (hope) this is just a prologue for reasons yiu mention.

Struggle to believe it won't be receiving some major updates (sooner rather than later).

No races fir higher group cars , with large payouts being 1 of the main tells for me.

Struggle to imagine pd see this as the intended finished article. Would be extremely underwhelming/embarrassing for them if in a years time we've only had some token updates containing a few cars and tracks.
Additional content and improvements will be added to Gran Turismo 7 with future updates. The following is a list of what to expect:

・New courses
・New cars
・New World Circuits events
・More Mission races
・More Music Rally songs
・More engine parts to swap
・New Lobby features
・New Time Trials for Sport Mode
・Improvements to the penalty algorithm and overall quality of online races

We hope you will continue to enjoy the ever-evolving world of Gran Turismo 7!

Anyone else lost connection and now the game won't boot at all?

Got an error code E2-CE210610.

"Unable to proceed. An error occurred while connecting to PlayStation Network."

Followed by "You cannot save because the network is currently unavailable."

Im facing the same thing too. How do i resolve this?

Nice, cheers. Particularly looking forward to the music really updates...

There was supposed to be fifty Menus, so the 11 short is correct.

So I won a new engine. Does this count as a engine swap?

Some takeaways so far: The car customization is lowkey a copy and paste of GT6's with some extras, we will have to wait on about 5 DLCs installments to make up for the lack of content, I don't know how I feel about car cafe and collecting cars as the premise, no standard offline arcade mode feels like such a big loss, music rally was/is weird. Also GT Sport had a great soundtrack, idk about 7. I hope they bring back some cars from GT2 and GT4 and I hope the DLCs are big like 6 cars minimum haha.

I hope not. It's about time we got a single player game that was the full game. Yes I hope there is additional content like cars and tracks, but I want to play through the single player knowing it's the final version and not get bolt ons and being expected to go back and do some single player again after moving on from it like in GTS. For example I was well into A+ in sport mode when some new single player content was released on GTS and was like meh I'm kinda done with racing disgraceful AI now. There's plenty there now to satisfy a purely single player player. PD need to concentrate purely on more tracks and cars and sport mode. And bugs. Not bolt on AI races.

Hopefully the majority of players realise the main part of GT7 is lobby racing and eventually sport mode. We just play through single player as an appetiser.

I am a huge fan of online racing, but I will tell you this I enjoyed some of those races with the AI they were really good, sometimes passing each other or if I slipped up they passed me… during the championships I was taking 5th 4th 3rd, it was good fun! You could test different cars and still get great racing. I’m not going even talk about the pepper races I have not taken 1st yet in one of those! So as you said I want multi player maximize even better than sport was, but I also want them to add more events for single player mode!

I wonder where they are getting feedback that music rally is worth doing more of.

Most players in GT, even in GT Sport (an online focused game) never played online and that's a fact.

So no, online is not Gran Turismo's "main part".

Only 32% of GT Sport players watching the racing etiquette videos required to play Sport mode.

Glad you had some good races with the AI but 99% of the time it's ridiculous. Prefer driving with similarly skilled and ranked humans for real life progression of skill and ability. That's only online.

And likewise not all players who played single player progressed very far as seen by trophies. The main part of GTS and GT7 is absolutely online racing.

You may want it to be, but it just isn't.
I would like it to be fairly equal between single player and online lobby, sport mode and FIA but the online aspect dwarfs single player by some margin. How you could think otherwise is baffling and I suggest you look at some history of GT games since the release of GT5.

They'll need to fix the issues with the lobbies where bugs exist and several things have been removed. Most likely they didn't have time to implement it completely. But since GT5 I can't be bothered to race against AI (Which has never been good since GT1) unless it's for credits and the 39 menu book long tutorial of GT Cafe which locked tracks for whatever reason. Maybe GT Sophy will spark some interest. Online also being the reason why I prefer race cars which many races use.

They both can exist though… and I was more on his side because GTS AI is just atrocious… This is not the case with GT7, yea some of the races in the beginning are easy but as you progress and if you are playing on hard the AI will challenge you. It’s not perfect I’ve been knock off track so many time 😂 They juts need to give us more functions online as with GTS and build from their. For Offline line we definitely are going to need more events even though I’m sure they will be coming!

Obviously both can exist, but if PD were a bit more competent we would have a rich single player career mode and a competitive sport mode instead of whatever we have now.
Human competition > any AI, ever
Yes, especially in Gran Turismo, however I can play against AI in ACC just fine. And not everyone wants to deal with the BS of online games.

To answer my own question the genesis gr4 is pretty fantastic and will surely be a car of choice online if they fix sport mode. I used it on alssace for book 36 and it’s awesome, I like the track too but I can see it being a bit much in a gt3. Especially with the weight transfer physics we have now. And I don’t get the conflict between single player and online. All they had to do was click and drag the GTS options into 7 and we’d be absolutely fine with that to start with. They’ve actively made it worse and have work to do to get it to where it was. Baffling really. Can’t be beyond the wit of man to have a good single player and multiplayer.

Yup. I haven't won one yet. Roulette is unkind to me. 😔
I see that its a corvette engine. So what car can I put this engine in? When I went to the engine swap compatibility thread I saw that a Mazda was one of the cars....? Right?

Most people have an internet connection these days, unless you live in the boonies. Even then satellite internet is a thing and getting better very quickly. With that said, it's no harder to join a lobby than it is to fire up any AI campaign race. Stick to proper leagues and you don't have to worry about clowns.

We seem to be getting to the point in time where the novelty of a new GT wears off and people start to bicker. I'll just be in my corner, grinding to get the 2J.
My ignore list is growing rapidly.

Clubman plus, Gr4 and Gr3 are proper racing. That's about it though.
