My take on this is wild but plausible. The whole menu thing is quite easy and doesn't take a whole lot of effort, add in that some circuits have only 1 or even zero events and you have a very thin game. PD know this, they aren't stupid, the Café is almost a tutorial for them to get people of all abilities into some different cars, get a garage of good things and unlock everything.

First content update is gonna hit and is gonna put in a full fat GT mode with hundreds of race events, effectively replacing the café (which might move or be selectable in an archive to go back to look at achievements or something).

This is the only thing I can assume is going to happen.
And as I forgot to explain why I think this, here goes. Buckle up, it's theory time.

Ahead of state of play, there were rumours GT7 was going to be delayed, rumours always start somewhere and some of them do have credit. Obviously, this wasn't the case and the game was confirmed for 4th of March and launched.

I believe, it was going to be delayed, PD told Sony this and Sony went, "Nu uh, no way, this game launches March 4th, we need it to launch asap". PD went off and thought, ok, we don't have the whole game ready, but a majority of it is done, the cafe, licenses, missions, cars, music rally etc, ready to launch. GT Mode, not so much.

GT mode, with all the new circuits, cars, tuning capabilities, dynamic time of day and weather systems, has proven, no so much problematic, but certainly time consuming to get the balance right. As AI cars can be tuned, making sure it works well and within the games parameters, making sure the difficulties (via the chili system) are correct and ready, deciding weather to have fixed time and weather or dynamic. Lots to do and not enough time to do it, game goes to final QC, goes gold then day 1 patch gets put into action for final touch ups. Game launches, team gets to work on fixing initial bugs that you only really find when thousands of people play the game, while a smaller team continues finalising GT Mode. Fine tuning the final events and championships to make sure it's all ready to go in the first major content update.

Why do I think this? There's some tell tale signs, a lot of which others have pointed out in various places on this forum;

1. No need for anything above the A license in menu books, this leans into my theory that the Cafe was only intended to serve as an extended tutorial, learn about cars and brands, unlock the content, learn about tuning, drive some different classes and get a good starting point on the garage.

2. The chili system, there's clearly a 3 chili difficulty level that we can't select for career mode, the max is 2. The hardest will unlock on completion of the Cafe to use for the main GT mode, only it won't unlock yet because there's no GT Mode.

3. There's a plethora of cars and car classes that are not used in any capacity in or out of the Cafe. Open wheelers, Karts, Gr2, Gr1 and many many more and many many variables. No endurance racing, none of the traditional Gran Turismo races. Massive holes left in the circuits where even the likes of Trial Mountain barely have any races outside of the mandatory menu ones.

4. No endurance or long form races. They made such a song and dance out time of day and dynamic weather, and then haven't used it to any real effect?

5. Credits are harder to come by, and with the general lack of events currently, also a bit pointless given there is yet be a any real need to spend big on, well, anything. Aside from certain cars for particular trophies.

6. Gran Turismo Sport ended with more single player content, a non numbered, online focused spin off, has more single player GT mode content than a main numbered title.

7. And maybe clutching at straws here but, Apricot Hill was clearly hinted at in trailers. It was easy enough to swap it out of races in the menus because it will likely have been unlocked later on and used once like Deep Forest. But if it comes up a lot in GT Mode, harder to do, and as GT Mode was held back because it was't finished, the same could be true for Apricot Hill and they will come simultaneously.

That new feature with the wind is such ********! I forgot the name of the mission, but it's the one with the nissans where you have to slipstream to get 250kmh.

I tried for hours and couldn't get past 247, then I quit and started again later and I saw that I have different wind.

The wind changes everytime you load the map (but not on retry). So I restarted until I had good wind and I did 252 on my first try then

I am broke now but… 😍

lovely, now back to the grind to get your credits back up. rinse/repeat 👍
I know 🙈 Tomorrow I will grind more since I also want the F40, Shelby GT350 and Plymouth. 😁 But I think all 3 will still be there tomorrow. If I start to understand this rotation then tomorrow the F50 will be replaced by something new, the Mark IV will be sold out, and either the Plymouth or GT350 will be limited stock.

I think every car is on a 5 day rotation like this :
day 1 - first time available
day 2 - available
day 3 - limited stock
day 4 - limited stock
day 5 - sold out (basically gone already but PD just wants to rub it in our faces 😁)
day 6 - gone

(I might be off a day or something but that’s the general idea)

I imagine they're all on a cycle and will come back around at some point. So you could argue there is no rush.

Yeah indeed. For cars with multiple colour variations I wait for a good one and then rrally go for it. I skipped that black classic Porsche and the F50 for that since I rather have them in silver & red instead. I do the same for the UCD.

For cars with a single colour variation (like this Ford Mark IV) there is indeed no rush if it’s just for collecting the cars. But I really wanted it now since I don’t have any American racing car yet and who knows when it will come back or when I will find another. My collector level jumped from 31 to 34 by the way. 😁

Tomorrow my prio is the GT350 and Plymouth. That’s 2 mill and should be possible when combined with some racing and then later some grinding. After that it’s the F40 since it was only added yesterday.

Do we keep track of the UCD and LCD rotation somewhere?

Has anyone come 1st in the Gr.3 Daytona race (4/5 chili I think)? Or even top 3? What car did you use?

Got my behind thoroughly handed to me and finished 12th, though it was refreshing to see how viciously competitive the AI were in that race - lots of trading places and overtaking between themselves.

I thought the same thing at first, especially with these kind of special collector cars as you would never do this in real life if you valued your investment, but as a reminder, In GT Auto you can purchase the actual paint colour of any car. So say you don't want the F50 in silver or whatever it was, well after you buy it you can change the colour to literally anything you want, including F50 "Rosso Corsa" red.

Of course you do need to watch out for anything that has more than one colour, like the Shelby GT350 that's available at the moment, as I think applying a new paint colour applies to everything, including stripes or accents.

I was able to pull off a win with the Corvette Gr.3. Had the Castrol Supra as the pole sitter and had to play around with the fuel map due to the fuel consumption multiplier.

So, maybe a stupid question but how do the invitations actually work? I got one for pagani huayra, but it still costs a fortune…. Can someone please explain?

They have an expiry date, but I think they cycle back-and-forth, you can also get them via daily workout tickets.

Invitations allow you to buy otherwise inaccessible cars.

Alsace is the worst track in the history of Gran Turismo, don't @ me. 😝
I quite like it, but it does feel like they've taken it direct from the GT5 track maker, there are a lot of the weird corners and elevation changes you'd get if you messed with the modifiers too much.

Broad Bean would be really cool if the game had some stockcars.

Same goes for Blue Moon, Northern Isle, SSRX, Daytona...
Agreed, it would be really nice to get the next gen NASCARs, or at least the new Camry or Xfinity Supra with the Toyota partnership and all.

Maybe it already been discussies here, but at what time does the daily Miles reset? Is it 00;00 everywhere or is it different appended on where you live?

What kind of realignment do you have to do?
So, it's not really an alignment option, it's a setting in the cockpit options, which can be found in the display settings. Theres two orientation options, default and off-set. Off-set move the positions to the left or right (depending on what hand drive the car is). It takes some getting use to but its pretty cool you can actually use the review mirror in this view! If you are using a wheel, you would need to align your wheel to the left or right of the screen. As the view is not centered with this camera, hence off-set. If you are on a controller you just changing the camera setting is all you need to do.

I attached some screen shots for visual reference if that helps. I recommend try it out and see if its for you. I's really interesting an da lot a players may not even know is't there.

has anyone else been having problems with Showcase on the PS4 the last few days? most of the thumbnails are blank and when I try to watch someone else's replay I get this error
Delete your temporary files.

GT Sport was barebones when it was released, but it's now five years later. GT7 is heavily based on GT Sport, so why does it have far fewer events than GT Sport? They've had five years to figure it out. And they already had figured it out five years ago.
Times have changed man. They release incomplete games and add content via updates.

You misspelled Broad Bean. Literally no point for that track’s existence.
Broad Bean rules.

The worst is St. Croix by a wide, wide margin.

Hi All, just curious where the Gr.2 and Gr.1 races are in GT7. I've obtained all licenses and completed the Cafe to unlock all tracks but none seem to have events higher than GR.3. I've yet to purchase a Gr.2 or GR.1 cars because I don't see any events for them. Do I need to own a Gr.1 or 2 car before the events become visible?

There are none yet.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but there would likely be more content at launch if they focused on developing on a single platform.

There are some parts of the game that are just blatantly unfinished compared to GTS, like multiplayer and sport mode.
