Actually there are games where you can go to the final boss after the tutorial 😝

Those racing games are not collecting cars type of games. Those are usually licensed championships racing games.

C’mon you knew what you were getting into. It has always been like that. No gt game gave you access to all cars from the start.
I'm sure nobody wants access to all the cars right away. People like a challenge - I like a challenge. It would be nice to think that I could get the McLaren F1 by completing a particularly tough race series, or beating a series of tough challenges, so I got a sense of achievement by winning it. As it is, if I won the same championship for a combined total of 400,000 payout ten times, I would still be less than a quarter of the way towards it.
Kaz wants to make this like the real world, with the pricing. If I won a race series ten times in a row irl, I would be hailed as one of the greatest drivers in the world and getting the McLaren would be no problem.
This is a game and it should reward gameplay fairly. That's all people want. There is a fundamental cynicism to a company that watches people play its game for two weeks - monitoring what they are doing - then deliberately nerfs the payout of the 16 most popular races in order to prevent people from progressing with their collections unless they pay real money.

If you don’t have time, like I don’t, you have to accept you won’t be getting all the cars. It just how it is these days. When I was a kid I did the endurance races without B-Spec. Nowadays I wouldn’t do them.
I'd say that the change here is more due to the fact that as a kid, you feel like time is infinite and you don't think twice about jumping into the grind. As an adult, you've likely learned what your time is worth - to both others, and yourself - and have changed as a result.

Quite simply, there's no reason at all to lock out content behind arbitrary gates. Your enjoyment of that special car you bought or won in the game isn't diminished or reduced by other people having it as well and if somehow it is, then you shouldn't be taking the game so seriously and should probably take a break. The credit 'grind' should only be symbolic, and by the time you finish the single player content and reach the endgame state you should be able to earn enough cash to buy any car within an hour - it's that simple. It's just a game, after all.

It’s a game and the game has that as a mechanic. If you don’t like it that’s fair. Just play something else. I don’t play games I don’t like the game loop.

A grind is not a challenge. It's just a timesink. There's literally no skill or talent required, only free time. There's no accomplishment whatsoever, it's a ****** mechanic.

I don't think there would be many complaints if folks could only get a rare car after a particularly hard set of events e.g. a championship, or a (set of) endurance race(s).

I agree with that. I don’t want to grind the same race. Hence why the issue is lack of content. I wouldn’t mind having access to every car from the start but I know that’s not how gt works. Having cars rewarded for races is much more fun and it is included in the game. You can get some legendary cars like the chaparral from missions.

Sigh. Same old, same old. We can all see who’s doing the trolling, mate.
He’s saying all he wants is to drive the F1 car but then he says there’s no races to use it. That’s simply not true.

But if you think it is, it’s ok.

I don't have that issue but i can't apply or edit pre-existing liveries which is another thing they supposedly fixed in the 1.07 ☹️ So basically they haven't actually fixed them or they reverted the 1.07 fixes to quickly release the 1.08... Who knows!
My save was crushed due to the "disconnected network bug", then I started the game from zero again, all of a sudden, the cars and menu book record appeared when I finished the 2nd mission of Ford menu book, then just like what I said, 3rd mission disappeared, compass disappeared, and I can't do nothing to continue the game, no new track, no new race, legendary dealer doesn't even open yet. Really pissing me off......

Exactly this. Make the McLaren F1 a reward for a tough or long race. If I'm not skilled enough to win it, that's on me. If it then also appears in the shop, I can buy it to avoid the skill challenge I can't manage.
But as things stand, the only way to get that car is to pay real money or waste hundreds of hours of my time tediously doing the same race over and over. That does not give me any 'sense of achievement'.

Why me? Do I have console company? Am I any share holder? But some Japan guys are in big trouble because of it and that's what I like because it means changes to potentially amazing game.
Nah, I'm just saying that using the user score from MC over and over to reinforce what you're trying to say is... well, quite dependant of others' opinions to the point that it's so lame lol, and it's becoming a little bit annoying that you recurrently quote the user score, soooo with that in mind, I'm gonna hit that ignore button, sorry m8.

I mean, technically there isn’t. Yes, you can set up a custom race with F1 opponents but PD themselves haven’t created a specific event that uses the cars
Unless the game had races for all the 424 cars that is technically correct.

Even with little content there are so many variations you could make outside of just driving/winning the race. E.g. winning a race within a certain time limit, having certain restrictions on the car, setup, assists, handicaps, etc, or using specific cars, etc. etc.

Giving out specific rewards or increased payouts for those goes a long way. It's not like other games are not doing that. :)

Haven't thought this out but what if they increased the Clean Race Bonus multiplier?

Some CR increases for both single and Sports modes while encouraging clean racing. CRB system isn't perfect, I know but at least it's a chance for an increase.
They should bring back the handicap bonus. That would give me a reason to try and force a Miata to beat anything in that World Touring Car 600 tourney. 😆

Oh, big loss. Still 2.2 is amazing and important score. Probably some trolls only, right?

There are so many fun little challenges they could have put into the game. I love messing around with tuning up cheap cars and a variety of challenges along these lines, with a decent payout for completing each, would have been perfect.

Of course it’s early days but there is so much potential to satiate a massive range of appetites. F1 cars, NASCAR, drag racing, touring cars, online racing, tuning and modifying. But everything feels a bit half arsed and unrefined at the moment.

Roulette Tickets
Does anyone know if your Roulette tickets that you’ve grinded for have to be claimed within a set time frame or can you save them up over the course of say a week & then claim them all in one go?
considering that they’re not great value except on rare occasions I want to save mine, but I’m worried they’ll expire if I don’t claim them within X hours/days/weeks.

One month if I remember correctly. You wanted to wait for a patch, right? Current usage is hate creating.

Someone on Reddit did an experiment that showed the prize was pre determined whether you wait a minute or a week the prize you get is decided when the ticket is issued. That’s Reddit, so make of that what you will; I chose to believe it because it fits my narrative.

Looking at what’s going on in Japan (sorry, I just doubt Kaz or PD care at all about foreign forums like this, sadly) I’d say Kaz has about a week to rescue this game and his own reputation.

They need to release the rest of the single-player content, cafe books 40-50, and races (Gr 2 10-laps 100k, Gr 1 150k, SF and F1500 200k and enduro 250k) to at least placate people.

I think they’re going to do it. Or they/he is toast.

What is wrong with that? It's unknown to you and that's important.

Is there a Japanese equivalent of this forum? I’d be fascinated to see what they’re saying. Wasn’t there a lot of prestige attributed to GT due to the e sports side of Sport. The handling of multiplayer has been a disaster with 7 despite there being some amazing racing to be had.

@Famine how does licensing work in Granturismo? Does PD have an all encompassing license for the life cycle of the game, wherein they have free range to any model under said manufacturer license? Or are they limited to certain models?

I understand the low car selection is due to them needing to model out hundreds of cars to meet their standard, sometimes outsourcing the modeling.

But... can they model any car they want as long as they have the license?

Because I really want a wide bodied Nissan Pao with an SR20 swap.... 😂😂

I know Korean socials have been pretty enraged, calling for Sony to get rid of Kaz because Forza is beating GT in popularity nowadays, and that PD needs to be boycotted because of the recent downtime/MTX drama.
