Is it possible to un-buy a car which I accidentally bought twice?

I purchased the McLaren 650 gr3 car, did some other things then went to drive it but it wasn't showing up in my garage, thought I hadn't actually purchased it so went back to Brand Central and purchased it, then go to my garage and it's showing there are 2 there. Very annoying if I've just wasted 450k cr.

It would be too pleasant. You need to suffer in this game.

My observations of recent events would suggest Kaz and Polyphony are keeping an eye on what the community says/thinks right now. This was apparent in his message to all players. In my opinion, I feel we should stand together and stay united to try and hold them accountable. I guess the Metacritic review bombing incident is a by product of this. I'm a long term Gran Turismo player. I've been playing since the first GT game in the late 90's. I'm angry and frustrated with what they have done to GT7. I do not have much positivity in me right now. I just wanted to share.

I received my PS5 with GT7 last Friday and played the crap out of it on the weekend. I'm really enjoying the racing and physics so far, aside from the low payouts for races, I want PD to add some things:

1) A button to toggle HUD on/off like in Project CARS or Driveclub, how is this still not a thing??

2) I want to see the paint on the freaking car that I want to paint before I buy it, who at PD though it was a good idea to use 3 show cars for this?

3) Why is weight reduction permanent and can't be reversed??

Some very weird design choices for an otherwise potentially brilliant game.

I think it's because you aren't buying the paint just for your specific car, you're buying the paint overall to have in livery editor/styles to then use unlimited times on any car. In GT Sport, you couldn't even see a sample of the finish before buying so in that regard it is a step up, but still having to pay 5k or whatever and then go into livery editor and find the paint again there just to see is a needlessly high number of steps. It is an even more annoying game design choice if it looks good on the Supra/Delta/Beetle but terrible on the car you want to paint.

I'm also bothered that just simply changing the body colour and nothing else counts as a style/livery and takes up a slot in the limited-number livery folder, and you still can't change the main body colour on many cars while leaving everything else (like factory decals with the model name or whatever, see 911 GT1, Levin, Copen, etc.) stock on the car.

It's another suffering thing. :D Pleasant experience is not welcomed here.
I mean, you can criticize a lot of things, but you can't undo certain things. Most weight reduction in real life is very difficult to put back (as someone mentioned, ballast is cheap). And engine modifications are permanent, unless it's a bolt on part and not in the engine internals

The cars which got sound change in GT7 (As far as I noticed)
  • Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.4 & Gr.3 (Sounds too low for being 4-cylinder engine though)
  • Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.4 & Gr.3
  • Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Standard (The same sound as the GTS pre-update sound)
  • Lamborghini Huracán GT3
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. Final Edition
  • Toyota 2000GT
Are there any other cars?

For anyone who struggles landing from jumps while grinding in Fisherman's ranch here is the solution! You gonna be able to go full throttle and no matter how you gonna land the car is gonna be stable 😀View attachment 1126985 i haven't experimented with all other settings but those few will give you peace of mind..

You mean the anti roll bar settings specifically?

Striving for realism isn't good at all times for game design. Nobody want to wait 3-12 months for a car to be delivered in GT right?

I have to say I am very disappointed in all of the 'hate' that is going round about Gran Turismo 7 right now, I expected it but not to this scale but I guess that the 'downtime' last week really brings out what peoiple actually feel sometimes.

As for me I am probably in the small 'minority' that is actually very happy with his game. I know my Gran Turismo group are very happy with it, some minor niggles but we all have those.

Nowadays with having multiple games on my roster I don't have the full 'day' to play games so I think the pace of GT7 is going quite well for my style of play, I am at menu book 18 and OK the 'reduction' in the payouts for some racies in trying to build money is not ideal to buy cars but I have 3 million currently and I am happy to wait when it comes to getting cars especially the Legendary Auction ones.

I am not a gamer that just buys everything, heck in GT Sport I don't own all the cars and am quite proud of that fact because that shows my personality/interests a bit more.

For me the fact I actually 'want' to play it is proof the game's format has been a success, I don't care about the fact the content may not be too large or too quick to complete at the moment. I am pacing myself to make sure I always have content to play and I am sure as Kaz himself said in his statement last week wie will have more content to come, it is after only the third week of the game.

Having 'fun' is what makes this GT a success for me, trying to beat friends in competitive Circuit Experience challenegs we have between us, licence tests etc, online lobbies, it adds to the immersion for me and I get some people will not like that but that's were all unique humans I guess.

Making liveries and people liking them, there are so many aspects I could mention here but I'm alrieady writing a novel here! LOL.

I missed out on the online racing last week (aka Sport Mode) but I am gonna make sure to do them this week and I'm looking forward to trying the exhibition FIA races again, which reminds me I need to make my liveries for 'Fumoffu Racing'

I'll judge the game once the future plans and content is there, let's just say it's in my top 3 of most played GT's, the others are Gran Turismo 4 and Sport for reference.

Apologies if mods consider it off topic, I'm off to play now...
This is pretty much my philosophy too, the only real difference being that you obviously did a lot of races to raise money first, where I decided to blitz the Menus and now I'm looking at raising money to buy more cars. Of the 78 cars in my garage, all but about 5 of them were game gifts. I bought a couple for specific Menu challenges and two specifically for livery recreations (one's I'd already done work on in GTS).

The realism argument is hollow, because in real life I can sell cars. In GT nobody can. Striving for realism isn't always good. Nobody want to wait 6-12 months for a car in GT right?
That's a separate argument though. You CAN replace the engine, which is expensive. I always do engine mods last, when I'm sure I want the permanent HP. But ballast is very cheap, so the weight isn't a big issue. A power restrictor is cheap as well. And so is a racing ECU, which can further restrict power. All of those things would take one 5 minute or less race to purchase in game.

I am focusing on ballast and engine restrictions with the tuning. Improving breaks never hurt. I think the prices for engines are ridiculous in this game.

They definitely are. My brother in law just had engine issues in his Chevy truck. He ended up getting it repaired (with a $3600 bill). One of his options, if it ended up being cams damaged, or something like that, was to buy a new engine since the truck isn't that old. The crate engine from Chevy was going to be $12,000 CAD. Probably on the cheaper side, as engines can cost a lot more, but not as much as in game

Anyone fancy a new body for the 917K?

The car is cheaper than the price for a new body for said car… 2 million cheaper to be precise! Where’s the logic PD??
Did PD consult the police and listened to smugglers stories for diamonds?

Police: Some smuggler hide diamonds in the chassis
PD: Diamond are expensive. 20 million it is.
