In reality that would make sense, but in GT it doesn't make sense as it isn't visually simulated. How can one do all that weight reduction to a car and still have the factory interior intact? In the PS1 and PS2 days it was fine as the car models had no detailed interior. PS3 era it was questionable but understandable due to hardware limitations and the mixed visual quality of the car roster. But now that we're in the 4k era, with extremely detailed interiors, a livery editor, roll cages, and powerful enough hardware... what's stopping PD from visually simulating that aspect of car tuning? It's a very "deep level" change, you're not simply removing parts and tearing interiors out, you're actually replacing a lot of the materials being used in the car and changing the "fittings" which held the previous parts in-place
It's a LOT of work. I'm almost certain the entire interior is one continuous model and if you strip it out of the car you'd just see a big hole in general. Modeling each individual component separate and all the under dash/trim/carpet sheetmetal is a crazy amount of work and would make each car even more work for the system to render. It would basically get less taxing on the system the more weight and panels you took out as they'd originally need to model it fully assembled. In reality that would make sense, but in GT it doesn't make sense as it isn't visually simulated. I'm glad that changing the exhausts does not only have an impact in sound and performance, but also visual. It's a pity that we can't see that being reflected on weight reduction, but given that there are lots of visual customization, I really can't complain that much. Polyphony should address this for the next game.In reality that would make sense, but in GT it doesn't make sense as it isn't visually simulated. In comparison, I’m at 49 hours of total time driven with total credits acquired a 49,7M.Hahaha just checked my profile and I've driven 48 hours on track since launch.
Credits earnt is a measly 14 million. Not even enough for one of the new legends cars. Incredible.

This'll come from mostly doing custom races & sport mode, which both pay a grand total of Basically Nothing
Not even. As crap as some of the mid-2000s racing games were, we need more of those series to return. Right now we don't have Need for Speed, Forza Motorsport, or Midnight Club. All we have is Forza Horizon 2 3, Grind Turismo 7, and bootleg MCLA simulator 2013. Grid Legends, PC3, and NFS: Heat weren't very good according to the banter I've read online. That's the reason for metascore. People are not hostages to Kaz. We are in golden age of racing games.
What sort of weird approach is this, esp. on a car that's specifically supposed to be influenced by real world pricing?
Let's add sales tax, duties, import tax, registration fee (if your PSN account is based in Europe, you registration fees vary between age of the car, engine displacement and weight), and insurance (higher SR from Sport Mode yields a cheaper insurance rate).Striving for realism isn't good at all times for game design. Nobody want to wait 3-12 months for a car to be delivered in GT right?
It fits perfectly with the opening footage. Thanks for the link.👍It's not classical music. It's "Nocturne", written by Paul Mauriat in 1966, and performed by "Paul Mauriat and His Grand Orchestra":
I had it on sport and it was brilliant. For the money it’s a no brainier. It can be a bit noisy, has a bit of a deadzone and there’s no settings to adjust being the downsides. But you’ve got to spend many multiples more to get a better wheel. Can anyone give any insight to the G29 experience on GT7? Looking for a "budget" wheel so the T300RS and G29 are on my list, but the G29 is a chunk cheaper.
GT 7's in game economy is like watching a car crash, it just keeps getting worse and worse and I can't look away.
I think it's fine. I have Xbox, PS and PC on one desk and I can choose what to start. It's so good and I love it. Kaz don't have much strength. Not even. Edit: Forgot The Crew existed. Lol.
This year still, we‘ll get TDU reboot!I think it's fine. I have Xbox, PS and PC on one desk and I can choose what to start. It's so good and I love it. Kaz don't have much strength.

Some people are getting it twisted, the valuation of the cars aren't the problem, they're simply reflecting the real world prices or at least estimates of them. What sort of weird approach is this, esp. on a car that's specifically supposed to be influenced by real world pricing?
For reference's sake, 917-024 under went a full restoration before hitting a sell price of $14m. Even Canepa didn't spend this sort of money on McQueen's LeMans 917 & that car was off-market asking for $20m.

It's the games predatory grind vs MTX economy that's the problem.
Do you think Kaz had something else on his mind? The Hagerty valuations are a problem, simply because whilst these cars are allowed to reflect market value, the dealer prices, both new and used, are laughable, as are tuning part costs for the power upgrades they offer. I must have spent at least 10,000cr getting my Fiat 500 from stock to 85hp; I was expecting to get it to a nice round 100hp when going as far as high lift cams, a race exhaust and manifold etc.
Forza 8 is 2023 at best..I'm on the fence to even open the 25th Anniversary I have. PS5 is on the way and I'm wondering if I made the right decision choosing GT7 over whatever the next Forza Motorsport is going to be. For me, choosing a PS5 or XB1 was a tough choice between guessing how the exclusive racing games would turn out.
I would be starting GT7 with the nerfed economy. Maybe I should wait longer to see if they will fix that. The game is unopened and I can still return it.
Bro, the game is amazing but it has some flaws. Don't worry. All that hate is because of we want fix for economy and other things. But even with current broken one you can't find much better console games.I'm on the fence to even open the 25th Anniversary I have. I honestly wanna see how it drives with these physics rn, seems to me (as a guess) that most track cars will still have an extremely loose rear. How have we all forgotten about the BAC Mono? I bought it yesterday and it was an interesting experience. Brakes were average, rear grip seemed a bit low and it got wheelspin in third gear as a result. Still a good car though.
X-bow is amazing with great grip.I honestly wanna see how it drives with these physics rn, seems to me (as a guess) that most track cars will still have an extremely loose rear.
I didn't like it as much as I hoped I would. As I mentioned elsewhere I ended up much preferring the Radical SR3. It's like a garage kit Lemans prototype car in a tiny package. I used it to beat a few of the post-menu races. How have we all forgotten about the BAC Mono? I bought it yesterday and it was an interesting experience. Need to wait til' E3 to confirm for sure.Forza 8 is 2023 at best..
MS really only have Starfield this year.. and lot's of their games seem destined for 2024 even. (Starfield may not even realistically make 2022 at this point, zero gameplay shown for it+concept art trailers)
Looking at the horrible shifting goal posts of timelines for Halo Infinite... I think Forza 8 is very very far away..
