I do think they need to add the ability for us to make our own remaps, because 3,000 credits for 30hp gain on a Focus RS stings a bit.

I kinda get it on a naturally aspirated car, but not on a turbo. My car can gain 30hp for about £400.

It's a very "deep level" change, you're not simply removing parts and tearing interiors out, you're actually replacing a lot of the materials being used in the car and changing the "fittings" which held the previous parts in-place
In reality that would make sense, but in GT it doesn't make sense as it isn't visually simulated. How can one do all that weight reduction to a car and still have the factory interior intact? In the PS1 and PS2 days it was fine as the car models had no detailed interior. PS3 era it was questionable but understandable due to hardware limitations and the mixed visual quality of the car roster. But now that we're in the 4k era, with extremely detailed interiors, a livery editor, roll cages, and powerful enough hardware... what's stopping PD from visually simulating that aspect of car tuning?

It's a LOT of work. I'm almost certain the entire interior is one continuous model and if you strip it out of the car you'd just see a big hole in general. Modeling each individual component separate and all the under dash/trim/carpet sheetmetal is a crazy amount of work and would make each car even more work for the system to render. It would basically get less taxing on the system the more weight and panels you took out as they'd originally need to model it fully assembled.

Trust me, I'd absolutely love to see my Levin stripped out like the Civic Touring Car is compared to the street Civic Type R, but I totally get why they do not do it for every car and leave things like that for special variants.

I await the stripped out interior of the Calsonic R32 vs the street one as well.

Why did some one reply to me with a picture proving what i just said . Im also serious about it being illegal. You would win easily in a class action . They can't talk their way out of it, it quite litteraly says " the classic GT mode returns" every single GT mode allows you to sell cars. Parts you win even have " cr. value " . I think the reason they cut this is because used cars cost more than new, you can win some POS teggy and suddenly you are banking 60 grand .

I'm glad that changing the exhausts does not only have an impact in sound and performance, but also visual. It's a pity that we can't see that being reflected on weight reduction, but given that there are lots of visual customization, I really can't complain that much. Polyphony should address this for the next game.

Also, I can't find the post that originally showed the backs of the cases for the game stating that you could sell cars, but I checked both of my boxes last night(NTSC, One launch edition, one 25AE edition), and neither of them said anything about selling cars on the back of them.

Hahaha just checked my profile and I've driven 48 hours on track since launch.

Credits earnt is a measly 14 million. Not even enough for one of the new legends cars. Incredible.

This'll come from mostly doing custom races & sport mode, which both pay a grand total of Basically Nothing
In comparison, I’m at 49 hours of total time driven with total credits acquired a 49,7M.

That's the reason for metascore. People are not hostages to Kaz. We are in golden age of racing games.
Not even. As crap as some of the mid-2000s racing games were, we need more of those series to return. Right now we don't have Need for Speed, Forza Motorsport, or Midnight Club. All we have is Forza Horizon 2 3, Grind Turismo 7, and bootleg MCLA simulator 2013. Grid Legends, PC3, and NFS: Heat weren't very good according to the banter I've read online.

Edit: Forgot The Crew existed. Lol.

I just had a curious thought. Polyphony could have actualy created a very booming meta economy and has all the peices to make it .
UCD and LEGENDS dealer is always online . We have preety crap pay outs right now ..
Kaz keeps saying " i want you keeds to understand cars have value and rarity "

Yes Kaz, I understand this, I own two rare rotaries that quadrupled in value in two years .. You know what I can also do with my two cars? Sell them ..

IF each car in the UCD had a price index saying ( 80% chance of going up in value ) etc , I bet you people would start to buy cars just to make passive income on the profits, this would work for parts too, I can tell you right now a steering arm for a first gen SA that was going for 40$, is now doing 6-700$ because MOOG discontinued it. Let us hodl onto those rare engien swaps and turbos which go up in value the longer we hold them . Most new cars should have a negative index meaning they go down in value after you buy them ( old GT games were brutal with this, giving you 1/5th of their value )Just make it a gameplay mechanic. Suddenly people will start to actualy learn about car values and the economy can be more than just racing, PD has preety much set all the mechanics for this, they just gate keep it by not allowing you to sell ..

Also I think this was their plan since Sport, you CAN NOT sell gift cars..

Anyone fancy a new body for the 917K?

What sort of weird approach is this, esp. on a car that's specifically supposed to be influenced by real world pricing?

For reference's sake, 917-024 under went a full restoration before hitting a sell price of $14m. Even Canepa didn't spend this sort of money on McQueen's LeMans 917 & that car was off-market asking for $20m.

Striving for realism isn't good at all times for game design. Nobody want to wait 3-12 months for a car to be delivered in GT right?
Let's add sales tax, duties, import tax, registration fee (if your PSN account is based in Europe, you registration fees vary between age of the car, engine displacement and weight), and insurance (higher SR from Sport Mode yields a cheaper insurance rate).

Can anyone give any insight to the G29 experience on GT7? Looking for a "budget" wheel so the T300RS and G29 are on my list, but the G29 is a chunk cheaper.

I had it on sport and it was brilliant. For the money it’s a no brainier. It can be a bit noisy, has a bit of a deadzone and there’s no settings to adjust being the downsides. But you’ve got to spend many multiples more to get a better wheel.

GT 7's in game economy is like watching a car crash, it just keeps getting worse and worse and I can't look away.

It can only be sane if they’re going to drop some new races with very big payouts v v v soon.

500k Gr1 races, 750k/1mil enduros. It has to be coming or the only logical conclusion is they’re deliberately scuttling the whole franchise for some reason. Even the people ‘just happy to drive’, ‘enjoying the menu’, ‘will get the cars later, naturally’ - the penny’s going to drop for all of them too at some point.

I think it's fine. I have Xbox, PS and PC on one desk and I can choose what to start. It's so good and I love it. Kaz don't have much strength.

This year still, we‘ll get TDU reboot!

Some people are getting it twisted, the valuation of the cars aren't the problem, they're simply reflecting the real world prices or at least estimates of them.

It's the games predatory grind vs MTX economy that's the problem.

The Hagerty valuations are a problem, simply because whilst these cars are allowed to reflect market value, the dealer prices, both new and used, are laughable, as are tuning part costs for the power upgrades they offer. I must have spent at least 10,000cr getting my Fiat 500 from stock to 85hp; I was expecting to get it to a nice round 100hp when going as far as high lift cams, a race exhaust and manifold etc.

Do you think Kaz had something else on his mind? :embarrassed:

Quick question... I remember in the State if Play, there was a Carrera GT without the roof? (you're suppose to be able to store the roof away when you want it in convertible form), does the game allow this?

I'm on the fence to even open the 25th Anniversary I have. PS5 is on the way and I'm wondering if I made the right decision choosing GT7 over whatever the next Forza Motorsport is going to be. For me, choosing a PS5 or XB1 was a tough choice between guessing how the exclusive racing games would turn out.

I would be starting GT7 with the nerfed economy. Maybe I should wait longer to see if they will fix that. The game is unopened and I can still return it.

Forza 8 is 2023 at best..

MS really only have Starfield this year.. and lot's of their games seem destined for 2024 even. (Starfield may not even realistically make 2022 at this point, zero gameplay shown for it+concept art trailers)
Looking at the horrible shifting goal posts of timelines for Halo Infinite... I think Forza 8 is very very far away..

Bro, the game is amazing but it has some flaws. Don't worry. All that hate is because of we want fix for economy and other things. But even with current broken one you can't find much better console games.

How have we all forgotten about the BAC Mono? I bought it yesterday and it was an interesting experience. Brakes were average, rear grip seemed a bit low and it got wheelspin in third gear as a result. Still a good car though.

I honestly wanna see how it drives with these physics rn, seems to me (as a guess) that most track cars will still have an extremely loose rear.

I didn't like it as much as I hoped I would. As I mentioned elsewhere I ended up much preferring the Radical SR3. It's like a garage kit Lemans prototype car in a tiny package. I used it to beat a few of the post-menu races.
