I care about this.
Online lobbies with my friends is how I have raced for the past 10 years.

Our group is frustrated.
We tried to make it work a couple of times but it just fails.
What we have resorted to for racing is pure stupidity.
Want to change tracks??? One friend has to leave the race, start new lobby, get all of us back into his lobby.
One guy always misses the last race before track change. Plus he has to input all the damn settings again because we can’t save any of them.

I struggle to understand why such basic elements are missing in custom lobbies in a 2022 game.

Are PD wanting to guide you to sport mode? Did PD look at the number of people who played sport mode, realized that not many people actually do play sport mode (talking GTS numbers here) and is guiding you in that direction for this game?

I just don’t get it. I have given up trying to play online. The game just sits idle now.

I know, I know take the tin foil hat off. 😁
I think they found instability in the online networking prior to launch that would not have delivered the smooth racing we were used to on GTSport, and therefore held it back...giving us this minimalist version for the time being. If you look back at the GT7 News section, on March 3rd, the day prior to launch, they clearly state new multi-player features to come in later updates. Also, I remember reading a comment by @Famine that the journalist version that they were afforded was basically the same in format as GTSport, but the changes happened between their intro to the game and the lauch date. Hopefully, the features are inbound sooner than later. GtSport went through the same server instability issue early on, and if I remember right, GT5 or 6 had a similar rollout of online options. It was very minmal at first and then updated to the full multiplayer we know.

But Lotus Cars was bought by Geely on May 2017

How have you come up with that exactly?

A personal hypothesis. There had to be a reason they held back online lobby functions, and based on the instability early on at launch and still currently experienced (albiet much better) in its minimal form it, to me, seems they are stabilizing and upgrading performance through updates. And I'd like to believe they will roll out the full deal once they get it where the want it. Here is the post:

I assume they give me low star tickets because I am level 50?
Definitely! 😂 Kidding aside, I guess you should be in with a chance of a 6 star now and again at lvl 50!

It does seem a lot harder recently to get higher tickets. The highest I’ve ever got (not counting the 6 star for completing the cafe) is 4 star, but I’ve been fluctuating between 1 and 3 for weeks now! I’m level 33 at the moment!

"It looks like a resolution is just around the corner"

5 years later and Lotus is still missing...

Alright, I caught up on about 15 pages before asking the question "should I buy GT7?"

I was willing to put up with the "early adopter" beta testing phase, and glitches that a new launch may come with.

PD fixing the economy (or at least heading in the right direction) won major points with me, and it almost made me pull the trigger but I held off.

With Lotus still missing, it brought up the old wounds of licensing issues and missing icons. We're still missing Volvo, Caterham, KIA, Daihatsu, Cadillac, Koenigsegg (this would actually be a first in GT), Isuzu, Lister, Buick, Marcos, Cizeta, Panoz, Saleen, Scion, Tommykaira, AC, Triumph, Bentley, Opel, Vauxhall, SEAT, Holden...

Seeing that Geely own Volvo, Polaris, and Lotus, we can kiss our beloved cars from those brands goodbye.

That's just the stuff I remember off the top of my head!

What about the manufacturers that we do have licensing for? Where are the AMG wagons?? Where are the Audi wagons? The Kei cars, the muscle cars, the hot hatches, the sport saloons, the Yakuza whips 😂...

The immense variety is what made GT special. I can't believe I'm actually missing the days where I had to scroll past 34 variants of a given Skyline.

They don't even have a solid core, let alone the side content to give this game longevity. I want to be a part of this game so bad, and I truly hope that this makes it the long years that Kaz has envisioned but God dammit, it's so hard to get on board.

Let me counter your input...well, I can't because you're right on all counts. This is a full GT version (no Sport that could get away with missing many things). I'm still wishing for garage playground with car start up and revving, car doors / trunks/ hoods opening, etc. But I will feel much better if they bring in Gordon Murray Automotive (T50, T50R and T33).

Plus, the TBA car in November, could be the GR Corolla. That arrives final quarter. Wonder what tracks. Motegi? Sugo? Okayama?

But the maximum you can get is linked to your collector level

"The higher your Collector Level, the more likely you are to receive a high-ranking Roulette Ticket"

I reached collector level 50 over a week ago and I still get 1 star tickets every day with 2 to 10.000cr. That's all I get.

Golded Catalunya CE using TC1, finally.
Ok I'll never get there, I'm out.

Wondered why they go for the GR010 first instead of the 2018 TS050 given it's historical significance. Updated car, yeah, but...

Well it says more likely, not outright likely. It probably goes up from 0% chance for level 6 at level 1 to 2% chance at level 50.

Relevance I should think. There's also nothing to say the TS050 won't come but I'd rather have the new one if we only get one.

One, Daihatsu is in the game. Two, Geely’s ownership of Lotus and Volvo have nothing to do with their absence in GT. Sony’s not willing to pay the licensing fee they’re asking for, and that’s basically it. If you want to complain about that, I suggest you send a strongly worded message to Herman Hulst asking him to sort things out with Lotus and Volvo.
