My Hagerty monthly promotion list included the GT7 Mclaren. Saves a phone call I was going to make.

Just realized Lotus isn't in the game and it ruined my mood suddenly. Anyone knows why they're not in the game?

Licencing issues. They probably want more money than PD is willing to part with, or something along these lines.

The user score of Metacritic is pointless. Thats infested by console warriors.

Even if the game have a lot of problems, the game do not deserv 2.0, maybe 6 or 7.

For me, at least is 9, but I understand why people complain.
If I am being harsh a 6 but 7 is what it currently deserves. It does what it does good but it fails to deliver on peoples expectations.

As if we still can’t even change the track in the multiplayer lobbies. The most frustrating part is that it seems like barely anyone knows or cares about the state of lobbies.

That was my favorite part of GTS. It was also lackluster in that game but now it’s even worse.

Are you like me a bit disapointed by the carrera GT sound ?

It doesn’t match the real one.
I do not know where people got their sources from but many are saying (on youtube) that PD recorded a straight piped carrera GT in which it sorta make the tone barely audible.

I have seen a bunch of videos on straight piped carrera gt so I grabbed one for comparison:

I don't know how late I'm to the party, but only today I learned that if you disable all the racing info, you can't select tires or fuel when you pit
noice
Yes, the race info display "options" are idiotic. They're literally unusable because they make it impossible to change TC/Brake Balance/Fuel Map. I really hope they give more options like Assetto Corsa does. I want to get rid of all the clutter and have a completely minimalist HUD...just a radar and an MFD that pops up on command.

One, I genuinely do not understand the point of Music Rally. Yes, I said that on day one, minute one, but I have further points after purposefully going into it the other day to try and...get it.

  • Why is there a timer? I get they're going for an arcade feeling here and it works wonders, but ultimately it's rather pointless because...
  • No matter what you do, the session is done the second the song ends.
  • Why are there other cars on the track with you? They're just rolling roadblocks, literally and, well, just literally. Because the AI is 🤬 stupid beyond compare.
  • Why is there a rolling start, with the timer already ticking down and the song already started? Why not do a standing start? The other cars are pointless anyway so what difference does it make?
  • What's the point of this? If it's to have fun, then sure, whatever. At a glance though it seems it's another thing in GT's library that's different simply for the sake of being different without any real substance to it.
But most of all....
  • Why can't we hear the sound of our damn car?

It would be interesting to see real data on who’s using them and how much. My sense in Sport (lobbies and daily races) is that the player base wasn’t really that big; when I raced online over weeks and months I’d often encounter the same few people again and again, people spread across Europe. If online was really popular, with a massive player base, surely I’d have very rarely bumped into the same people so often, and it would even be possible (and hugely desirable imo) to have UK-only or France-only races.

I know many of the hardcore people who love online, they really love online. But I suspect the vast majority of players don’t care for it that much, and if that’s the case PD and Sony must know it too. Perhaps that’s why they seem to have gone backwards. (And they have: did my first GT7 online racing yesterday and the UI is much, much worse than Sport’s.)

The GT7 car sounds pretty damn great.

Not a bad way to start the day 😂

Is there a way to re-watch the intro videos of the GT Cafe championship races? The videos of the car collections can be found in the menu archive, but I can't find the others. someone an idea?

I wondered this as well, but couldn’t find anything in game. I guess YouTube is the only way to go here!

You can go to settings and turn on the item that automatically plays it when you start the game. (And then turn it back off so you don’t go insane next time you start it)

I care about this.
Online lobbies with my friends is how I have raced for the past 10 years.

Our group is frustrated.
We tried to make it work a couple of times but it just fails.
What we have resorted to for racing is pure stupidity.
Want to change tracks??? One friend has to leave the race, start new lobby, get all of us back into his lobby.
One guy always misses the last race before track change. Plus he has to input all the damn settings again because we can’t save any of them.

I struggle to understand why such basic elements are missing in custom lobbies in a 2022 game.

Are PD wanting to guide you to sport mode? Did PD look at the number of people who played sport mode, realized that not many people actually do play sport mode (talking GTS numbers here) and is guiding you in that direction for this game?

I just don’t get it. I have given up trying to play online. The game just sits idle now.

I know, I know take the tin foil hat off. 😁

Licensing?
When did Lotus change ownership?

I don't get how PD can basically hit the reset button when it comes to lobbies
GT6 lobbies were fun, always packed.
Lobbies I find(not all are australian) are empty with 1 or 2 players.

As for "Sport" mode.
Same daily races for 3 days.
The Manufactures cup starts at midnight for me, WTF?
Are these events tailored to the EU players only?

Good thing I only paid for 1 month of PS Plus.

On GT Sport closed beta version, there were some Lotus cars.
But Lotus Cars was bought by Geely on May 2017. And no Lotus car is in GT Sport and GT7.
There were some dead data in GTSport.
