Not exactly. I'm at collector level 50 (maximum) and I got a three-star ticket recently.
That's not how that works.
You're not guaranteed a 6 star ticket. It's your odds of getting higher star tickets that are increased, supposedly.

5 years later and Lotus is still missing...

I've known this for so long but was sworn to secrecy by a friend.
Secrecy? Really?
I hope to see the Toyota TS050-Hybrid 2018 added very soon. April is really quite likely, and the GR010 Hybrid, which I am pretty confident is also coming, could be kept for June when 24h du Mans is on.
I have a very good feeling the GR010 Hybrid will make it...

Hopefully the TBD car on the Finals will be the GR Corolla
The Finals will involve multiple cars and literally won't have been decided yet, rather than hiding anything.

One, Daihatsu is in the game. Two, Geely’s ownership of Lotus and Volvo have nothing to do with their absence in GT. Sony’s not willing to pay the licensing fee they’re asking for, and that’s basically it. If you want to complain about that, I suggest you send a strongly worded message to Herman Hulst asking him to sort things out with Lotus and Volvo.

Lotus backed out of GTSport a mere four months before release, just as soon as Geely acquired the brand. Which means they increased their licensing fee and SONY/PD was not willing to pay that.

So yes, it absolutely has to do with Geely's acquisition of Lotus. We don't know what the deal with Volvo is though.

As for Daihatsu, sure, I forgot they have the Copen Open Top. We're still missing the Move, Storia, Sirion, the two Midgets, and a handful of others.

Is Daihatsu a sought-after car brand in a racing game? Not really, but we still had them in previous titles which gave races like the Light Weight K Cup and Sunday Cup variety.

Still doesn't change the fact that we're missing a lot of car brands in the game.

For brands like Fisker and Spyker, I understand that it might be difficult to get licensing seeing as they're a dead brand... but the others?

Also not how contracts work, and not how ZHG Holdings (not Geely; Geely is another ZHG brand) operates the PR and licensing of the brands. The brands do it themselves.

Good to know. In that case, how does licensing work for dead brands like Pontiac, Fisker, Spyker, etc.?

I cannot say anything for sure in any of these cases, but...

Fisker and Spyker will almost certainly handle their own licensing through individual agreements, though it's likely they will have PR specialists (probably a PR agency) that deal with and advise on that sort of thing. Usually badly.

As Pontiac is now defunct, it's likely that GM handles and manages anything like licensing centrally. However the presence of Pontiac cars in GT hints at a long, long, multi-year (given Pontiac died in 2010) licensing agreement that allows the cars to continue to appear.

Not really much evidence, however, I think the posts on the Gran Turismo social media pages might be hinting at Road Atlanta. It makes it seem more likely that it will come since the track has apparently been scanned as well.

Wondered why they go for the GR010 first instead of the 2018 TS050 given it's historical significance. Updated car, yeah, but...
Was thinking the same. PD love cars with significance and the ‘18 TS050 is the first car to win Le Mans outright twice in a single season (WEC Super Season)
