I thought PD just outsources the car scanning and modelling nowadays?
They outsource extra modeling work. Getting access to cars and scanning them are always in-house, either you have to use a physical car, or the manufacturers provide CAD for them.

People are expecting the Update way too early, it's not even a full month ago with the last one, calm down guys.
People were expecting 2 updates like it was last month... Where we got first update with new events and missions and second one with cars and new pitstop for spa.

This time we could get just one update with both things.

Did PD say we will get an update in May or are we just expecting monthly updates?
This is what Kaz said
We will let you know in time about the update plans for additional content, race events and features that will constructively resolve this situation.
This is what we ”know”. https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt7/news/00_3426773.html
Additional content and improvements are planned to be added to Gran Turismo 7 with future updates. The following is a list of what to expect:

・New courses
・New cars
・New World Circuits events
・More Mission races
・More Music Rally songs
・Adding engine parts to swap
・New Lobby features
・New Time Trials for 'Sport' mode
・Improvements to the penalty algorithm and overall quality of online races

We hope you will look forward to the ever-evolving Gran Turismo 7!

Anyone’s guess.

If memory serves correctly they pushed the two updates in April because of the way people reacted to the money nerf of the races with the original System Update so they made the small update with new events and missions to settle that issue (partially at least!)
and then rolled with the update at the end of the month for cars and tracks.

We will have details I think next week, we need the Toyota LeMans Hybrd car for 5th June so it has to be a game update before then and next week is last week of the month so...

Then we should lower our expectations.

Even though I’d like new content, I hope they’re focusing on fixing the online lobbies, further tweaking the physics and ffb, and making sure we can race 20 cars grids online again.

If they can add a few new endurance races and adjust the rewards for custom races and online modes, that would be a bonus for me.

The absolute minimum what to expect is one new car. Because it is listed in Nationals for 5th June ;)

We're kind of expecting that the game has to have an update before June 5th in order to add the Toyota GR010 that will be used in the Toyota GR GT Cup race on that date.

That probably means an update in May, and - while by no means guaranteed - there's a chance that PD won't just push out an update for a single car; it did that three times for GT Sport, all in its last 15 months of support.

The next update could arrive in early June. In the GT Sport days they sometimes skipped a month by going from a late update to an early update, skipping a whole month in between. So next week could very well be another round of silent treatment. 😑

Well my friends/cousin were generous and let me borrow their gt7 game for a little bit until I actually buy my own copy. It's a cool game but some of the missions are difficult. Maybe the update will be in June.

At the moment the update that has to come before June 5th* in order to add the GR0100 for use in the Toyota GR GT Cup event that day has only four possible dates in June and 12 possible dates in May.

Add in the fact that no non-emergency update has come on a weekend and you're down to eight possible dates in May and three in June.

*although June 5th is also a possibility, but it would mean the Asia-Oceania region drivers have to download and install the update, buy the car, and then race it in an official esports event, all in the space of about five hours... assuming there's no major issue with the update as with v1.07; this date is therefore incredibly unlikely... and a Sunday.

・New courses (done - Spa24h)
・New cars (done - 3 cars)
・New World Circuits events (done)
・More Mission races (done with human comedy)
・More Music Rally songs (done)
・Adding engine parts to swap
・New Lobby features
・New Time Trials for 'Sport' mode
・Improvements to the penalty algorithm and overall quality of online races
I marked what is done xD

They're not even touring cars!
I kinda learned from the "Indy 500" in GT5 not to expect complete accuracy from PD outside of Super GT (which even then only has ONE GT300 car while the GT500 cars get far more representation). To see "World Touring Car" as a name for something that at best MAY feature Grand Touring cars (Which might as well be close enough) doesn't even remotely surprise me.

God, this one was the worst offender of all. They had a Formula GT Championship. The Indy 500 obviously should've been Formula GT exclusive as well.

Yep. We had to wait at zero hour to register for that first race. I rented the SF19. So, it’s entirely possible.

Anyway, I’m expecting this and some other current threads to get heated. Plus new angry/upset/complaint threads, created by new members, to pop up around Monday. Or, maybe members will be civil enough… Hope you won’t be busy locking threads.

I’ve had the game freeze again today where the audio carries on in the background. Second time it’s happened. It happened to Rory Alexander twice on his stream yesterday and once this morning before he gave up and moved to iracing. This is putting me off any sort of online racing. Just feel like I’m waiting for it to crash all the time.

And here's the kicker: They had the capability to make a fictional Formula car but none to at the very least make a fictional Indycar? Given the spec nature of the series even around 2008-2010, it couldn't have been hard. Oddities like this are why I simply don't expect alot from PD and when they do actually pull off something like widening the wheel track (something I have no confidence in them doing), I'm actually impressed.

Just a question:

Since the April update, daily roulette is looking broken. 90% of rewards are the lowest credits.
I can predict every roulettes, funny first times, but when you can't have swap engines or high credits...

So, the roulette rewards are really random?

Nobody knows for sure. All we know is that a given ticket will pull the same prize every time (you can redeem the ticket and shut down before it saves, the redeem the same ticket again).

I strongly suspect it's the GTS roulette again, but with low cash prizes in all the gaps in the list. For reference, we don't know how that worked either, but the same roulette would always result in the same prize within the same version of the game on the same console, very firmly hinting that it was a recycling of the GT5 Used Car Database code: a functionally unending list of numbers which the game would look up each time you met the conditions and generate items based on the numbers it returned.

PGR's still probably my favourite racing franchise of them all, and that's saying something.
PD should take notes from the sound design team who worked on those games as some of the cars that feature in both GT7 and PGR sound the same but vastly different in quality and much more tame and muted in GT7 while missing distinct characteristics in GT7 aswell.

It is very frequently small change or a useless part, but it ebbs and flows. In the second week of release I won a million credits, then nothing good for a long time... last week, I won a Gr.4 Lexus and this week, 1 million from a 6Star and, shockingly, 500k from a 3Star!
I'm expecting to return to winning 8k a day on average for the next 50 days, though. :D

Its just slop from PD, wanting to cash in on the brand and familiarity of those events and series without doing the work to represent the cars in them as closely as possible using the vehicles within their own game.
