Grinding for a purpose. My Super GT line up of 2016 GT500 cars is coming along nicely
View attachment 1150043
Nice, I got a lineup of Toyota Supra GT500 97s (6 were actual cars that raced in the JGTC in 1997) in my garage right here (Highlighted in Red):

My lineup of Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI '93s (2 were actual DTM cars {#7 & #8}) (Highlighted in Red):

And the first two rows are my personal arsenal of Race Cars (Highlighted in Red):

This is why I grind.

To think Driveclub is still a 2014 game and it's still in the conversation for the best looking racing games ever.. I can't imagine the audiovisual spectacle Evolution would've been able to deliver on the PS5.
Because people forgot how it looks in every weather condition not only during rain ;) also gt7 as crossgen is small graphic leap comparing to gt sport

I'd argue the reason it got so much hate was the push for it's "Club" features which were annoying.
The reason it got so much hate is that the online component was a huge part of the game, but at launch, the online doesn´t work at all.
When the online part was working, the damage was already done

has anyone seen a reasonable explanation for why qualifying laps on Sport mode don’t count towards daily mileage?

nothing like spending a half hour to beta test their broken "BOP" Gr3s and 4s, and then still have to race the broken AI “offline” in order to get 5,000 credits. Even if I was interested in the races this week, I’d still have to run 2 or 3 (another hour) to hit the minimum.

Something occurred to me concerning the lack of European and American car manufacturers (relatively speaking) in GT7.
Thing is, being based in Japan, PD have very little access to European and American cars simply because they're not very readily available. It's far easier, I would think, for Turn 10 to add loads of Japanese and Eu

Surely the majority of these cars will show up.

That's a great list, mate.

However, I wouldn't hold my breath on the majority of those coming to GT7.

I revisited DriveClub a little while ago and it was a lot worse than I remember... From a gameplay and progression standpoint that is. You felt like you were renting cars as opposed to owning them and there wasn't a huge variety of events. They all felt the same. At least the events in GT7 are a bit more memorable.
What an absolute car crash of a post!!

While we wait for news, I'm just letting ya'll know that Daiki Kasho's new music with EXiNA is now out on streaming services like Spotify and YouTube.

Some of them sound very Gran Turismo-ish, so if you don't mind the Japanese vocals, give the album a go.

Yes, WTC [PP] and Clubman Cup [PP] repeated several times are super memorable.

has anyone seen a reasonable explanation for why qualifying laps on Sport mode don’t count towards daily mileage?

nothing like spending a half hour to beta test their broken "BOP" Gr3s and 4s, and then still have to race the broken AI “offline” in order to get 5,000 credits. Even if I was interested in the races this week, I’d still have to run 2 or 3 (another hour) to hit the minimum.

What really irks me is the mileage driven in lobbies, and qualifying are added to your cars odometer but don't count towards daily miles. An actual scam.

The races count. Practice doesn't. You can practice in a rental and use your car in a race. Or if you open a lobby, don't practice and just run the race mileage would count.

When you do Cafe, Missions, CE or License mileage counts but you're using a rental.

None of it is logical.

So what's up with that 15 lap WTC800 race at Sardegna? I finished 25+ seconds behind everyone (8th) and was much slower on a straight compared to the AI in the same car as mine. I assumed I had a power restrictor on, or limited my ECU, but it seemd all normal. Am I missing something? I pitted twice by the way.

I never really paid attention to this race before so I have no idea if other people also have the same issue.

EDIT: I admit I was screwed over by the AI multiple times. Luckily not on the exit of the pits as other people have faced, but because they decide to bolt on the brakes right in front of me at ridiculous points. However, I don't think it was worth 25 seconds.

This is a but off topic but do we not get birthday tickets anymore?
Unfortunately, no. My birthday was a few days after GT7 came out, and I didn’t get anything. I don’t see why birthday gifts can’t be added in an update later on though.

OK the Clubman Cup events aren't that memorable but the WTC events are. The thing that makes each of them interesting is the tyre wear, fuel use and individual track quirks. No two events feel the same, unlike DriveClub where all the tracks have a similar feel despite the variance in scenery. Of course when I had nothing else to play on PS4 it was great but looking back at it now, it really doesn't stack up.

They're not even touring cars!

Some of them are touring cars. The WRX, Atenza, Evo, G70, Swift Sport. They also have Touring in the name of the Grand Touring GT3 cars. If we want to be technical about names.
Touring cars been two-door coupes since the early BTCC days, as well as hatches. A Lamborghini Huracan shouldn't be a touring car. It should be a sports car, but a sports car is pretty much a Prototype Roadster, like the BMW V12 LMR, Pescarolo, Audi R8 LMP, etc. Not to mention a sports car being a sporty road car. Weird.

PD will announce the update as late as digitally possible, I'm guessing if there's maintenance on the 26th, we'll find out on the 25th.
Maypricot Hill? That'd be nice.
Pike's Peak in June? That's practically "all is forgiven" tier, like Tahiti or RRV.

PD has a small office in Los Angeles. You could source a lot of cars from all over the world there

It could arrive 30th of May. Last update was on monday too.

They fly their teams out to the cars, though. The issue likely isn't a matter of sourcing, it's licensing or the cars not crossing their minds to include yet.

Edit*
I think it's also been pointed out way back on the forum that in a previous game, one of the cars was modeled off a 1/18th scale car.
