State of play today June 2nd might show some PSVR2 footage, probably GT7 will be part of the show. only speculation though.

GT7 on PSVR2 would seem a given. But I expect Sony will spread out announcements. They’ve already said HFW spin-off will be shown tonight.

I think Returnal will be announced on PC. Maybe show Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned either recently or quite a while ago but I saw a recent video from HSG Automotive about someone data mining into GT7 and seemed to identify 7 new cars potentially coming in future update(s) (not specified which and when) and that the data miner identified the already added update cars e.g. Suzuki VGT, BRZ GT300 and so on before they were added to the game. Now I’m taking this with a pinch of salt as I don‘t want to get carried away but what are the general thoughts on this?

The cars according to the “data mine” are:
  • BMW M2 ‘18
  • Bugatti Chiron ‘16
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR ‘06
  • Pontiac GTO “The Judge” ‘69
  • Porsche 918 Spyder ‘13
  • Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally Car ‘85
  • Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak ‘98

Again I must stress, I saw this from HSG Automotive YouTube channel and it may have been mentioned earlier but I thought I’d mention it anyways.

Old cars again, great..

General PlayStation related news.

Spider-Man was announced to release for PC in August. Miles Morales also confirmed.

Sackboy and Returnal configuration screens on PC leaked. So I guess they’re imminent too.

Not a single whiff of anything GT related from the state of play. It's like Sony completely forgot about the game.
The State of Play is for announcements. We don't know of any reason it would appear there, GT7 has nothing to announce on such a stream. We'd only get large updates (like PSVR2 support) or DLC announced there, and it seems neither are coming any time soon.

Rally cars are such a waste in this game lol

Given the paltry content updates thus far, I was half expecting PD to have been working on something big to be revealed at the state of play.

Evidently not.

Hmmm... if the datamine is correct and they're planning to add so many rally cars, maybe they're gonna time it with the arrival of Pikes Peak? There seem to be a few things pointing in that direction.

All of these cars are plausible.

Well, Nurburgring 24H just passed and we didn't get the M4 GT3. Spa 24h is next month. Not sure what we'd get during that time. Lots of events, but PD usually don't align DLC with said events.

In saying that, the GR010 is right on time for Le Mans and it's lined up for the GR Cup, this weekend.

Super GT was early and late May. We got the GT300 BR-Z, but no GT500 cars. However, the GT500 Z debuted in December. It's been six moths. So, maybe we'll see the latest Super GT GT500 machines.

Guess we'll see what happens come the week of June 20.

This would be pretty neat…IF it happens. I am very interested in the GTO as a muscle car lover. Of course, I would do RM builds of the M2 and Evo IX at least

With a PC release, Spider-Man franchise will hit 40 million sales, easy.

I wonder what Sony's plan is gonna be for their games. Right now, they're committed to full releases. People always speculate they're gonna start to bring their games to PC day and date, but, for now, it doesn't make much sense for them to do it, because they could lose a potential PlayStation customer and they have to pay Valve a cut for every sale on Steam.

There's always the question of whether these releases would eventually make consoles redundant. Personally I think these releases won't dent the console market at all. You only have to look at Red Dead Redemption 2. The game hit 25 million sales by August 2019, which was before it was released on PC. People knew the game was gonna come to PC, but bought it on console anyway. They're separate markets.

Also, console demand has never been higher. People want these new consoles like crazy. The Xbox is selling well, and Xbox releases simultaneously on both console and PC. Most Game Pass subs are from console users, primarily next gen buyers. Microsoft has pushed PC and cloud support for their games, because they own Windows, but they're still very committed to their console despite what they say about cloud gaming.

Finally, PC gaming at a level of quality comparable to consoles is prohibitively expensive right now. Even run of the mill GPUs like the GTX 1660 are expensive. It costs too much, it's complicated, it's just not worth the hassle. But, a PC release can attract new customers, whether they stay on PC or come to PlayStation.

I can see a world where there's Game Pass on PlayStation and PS Plus on Xbox, but I can't see a world where consoles are dead yet. Otherwise Sony wouldn't be releasing a PSVR2. I'd love to try GT7 with it if I ever get one of these.

Some of the cars that I've highlighted would be the one I most look forward to. However, the "Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR ‘06"
would be a similar case to the "Suzuki Cappuccino (EA11R) '91" model that has been added in March. Both cars being newer compared to their last appearances.

The 918 Spyder is a nice addition but I guess we have to wait a "bit" longer for the standard P1 to arrive.

The Escudo Pikes Peak narrows down the whole Pike Peak return mystery ever since that "Scapes" picture featuring the Suzuki VGT. But god forbid that track becomes paid DLC. If the Sierra Time Rally in GT6 is free, then I don't see having to pay extra for a track that has been missing for over 7 years.

Again, take this with a grain of salt

That looks like someone's wishlist, not something legit.

There was talk of DLC a few pages back, but what I want is the Classic OST pack.

GT7 brought back some iconic classic background music and made us nostalgic.
But it has awakened in me a new frustration and desire. I want more classic OSTs in this game.
For example, Supermoves and Stompbox are some of my favorite tracks from past GTs that I used to listen to.
Releasing these songs as paid DLC would not affect online play, unlike cars and tracks, and would cover the cost of licensing these songs to be added to the game.
And players like me will gladly pay that cost for the nostalgia.

Checked out the video and I'm not sure about those "proofs". Someone somewhere told someone else there was some post in some discord server and apparently it was made before May update, but for some reason no one cared about it until now. Where is this post? Was it edited? Did that person ever post anything similar which was a solid and undoubtful truth?

That’s why I specified I’m taking it with a pinch of salt - hopefully in the near future we’ll get a much better idea but at this point we don’t know. I’ve noticed just now that on another thread someone mentioned about it before me (Nathan88 I believe) so apologies for not seeing it beforehand.

As you said, take it with a pinch of salt, HSG previously made a video regarding a list of "leaked" cars. This obviously turned out to be fake, so he deleted the video.

(Interesting car list, btw)

That list looks good, but if we get them cars all at once....

To me most disappointing thing (in terms of updates), is looking back at GT sport's update history. First one was just 3 cars like we had for GT7. But the second one OMG! : 15 new cars and GT League (campaign)....
Then we were getting regularly 13 to 7 cars, a month plus some tracks. I hope they are gonna ramp up quantity of these updates because quality is for sure there...

Maybe it's complacency with how well the game is doing in sales so they're celebrating and taking their time with everything.

Or the new customization they're trying out for some of the cars is taking a lot of time, which would be a bit sad because it's not that much even for the most customizable cars. And the weather and time aspect is adding some weird difficulty to getting the tracks done.

Or they had big backlog of cars and tracks for GTS that's been exhausted and this is actually the best they can do; also kinda sad.

Many possibilities.

According to HSG, the dataminer is GameHecht/Paiky, who dumped this GT5 build. So there's might some grain of truth that happened to be published by an unreliable publisher.

Is he the only one able to datamine GT7? If not, can anyone else confirm this info? And is there an actual original post of this guy, or is it just "according to someone who was told by another someone who saw someone posting that before May update release"? It would be nice to at least confirm those lines actually being in games files.

And then, as Famine said in another thread, there's been plenty of other similar stuff hidden in GT games before, but never released. So even if those lines are in the game, it doesn't mean we will get those cars in the next update or even at all.
