I was expecting that too! Imagine not having a Gr.1 race at LeMans.

Is PD finally using their Pikes Peak license, with a scapes location?

While it looks like scape. Scapes are typically irl photos graphs with the car imposed on top. The background in that image actually looks like a render rather than a photo. So this could actually be a photo from replay etc

Lol I missed that. In any case, one of the Digital Foundry guys said today or yesterday that he'd heard GT7 is in active development for PC. That + being on the Nvidia list is pretty solid imo.
The Nvidia list has nothing to do with a PC port and Digital Foundry are just guessing at this point. There is zero solid information to suggest GT7 is PC bound. That's not to say it categorically won't happen or can't happen, but nothing said or seen to date suggests that it will.

I could see Pikes Peak being a paid DLC. IMO it’s too big an undertaking to be part of the free monthly line-up. We’ve see with the Hamilton DLC Sony will offer paid DLC.

GT7 is better positioned for this DLC rollout given we’re at the start of the generation.
I hope not. Paid DLC splits the playerbase and means that paid DLC stuff can essentially never be used in any e-sports event, championship, or anything tied to progression, etc., so will be barely used at all.

Tried the Toyota Gr4 86 on the 30 min Le Mans this lunchtime. Good fuel economy, only one stop required (completely dry race, unusually) but I reckon I should have started on RH not RM. I lost by less time than the tyre change bit of my pitstop

I swear to god if they don't add shuffle mode, drivetrain restrictions, one-make races, set race timers and more after making us wait for basic features like the ability to change the track, I'm gonna be so annoyed. There better be a reason behind all of this, and hopefully they are giving lobbies an overhaul to add what needs to be added.

Speaking of the VGT program, I think it's interesting that we haven't really seen any VGTs from some brands we know are participating, like Nike, GM Design, Ford, and Tesla, but instead, we're getting VGTs out of nowhere from brands like Suzuki and likely Genesis. I do like surprises, for what that's worth.

Also, I swear that I saw a job posting at PD for a mobile developer, well after the launch of GT Sport and its corresponding mobile app. Makes me hope that if B-Spec does return in any way, it could be as a mobile app that you could leave idle while you work or otherwise go about your day. Sort of like enabling Adventure Sync in Pokemon GO, where even if you close the app, the game can still run in some ways.

EDIT: I think the actual page with the upcoming VGT brands isn't meant to be accessed. Like, it's still an active page, but you need to basically Google it, as I can't find a way to access it on the main site. It also lists Lamborghini as one of the "coming soon" brands, so I think that's evidence pointing to the idea that it's an outdated page, and that we should instead follow this official page for anything relating to VGTs.

EDIT2: I still can't really get over how lame some VGTs are, like the ones from Toyota, BMW, Mitsubishi, and Subaru. Oh cool, you just took a pre-existing concept and put some parts on it. I hope they're given another swing at it, still there's so much potential for those brands. And I hope Pininfarina gets another crack at it, too, given that the EF7 is no more. Maybe this time, the Pininfarina VGT could be added as an actual Pininfarina model, alongside the Battista.
You’re right, but as a point of clarification, I think GM’s VGT was the Chapparal.

I used that car a couple days ago there, and for some reason the pack seemed slower. Rain came at the end of lap 2, and hung around til the end of the race. I wound up far enough ahead, that I waited at the finish line a good 20 seconds for the timer, to avoid another lap, with no concern of 2nd catching up.

Used the Alfa 155 yesterday, and got my first completely dry race. The Alfa handles that race no problem, even on FM 6.

Been using this race to get my daily workout, and just starting to experiment with different cars.

So far, that Alfa seems to have the best combination of handling and fuel economy. The 86 isn't bad though

Switzerland has apparently lifted their ban on circuit racing. Deep Forest is now realistic again.
My understanding is that while one chamber of parliament decided to lift the ban, the other chamber still needs to confirm it. And finally, the people might still be able to reject the lift by referendum.

So it's too early to party, but it might be time to put the champagne in the fridge at least. :D

That’s why I believe Pikes Peak could be a paid DLC candidate. Firstly, it’s a huge amount of work to create the whole track. Fully worthy of paid DLC. Secondly, it isn’t particularly suitable for online competition or official events. So no worries about splitting the userbase.

It’s basically single-player DLC.

At this point the Nvidia “leak” has had a 100% hit rate, including then unknown 3rd party titles like Kingdom Hearts 4. Digital Foundry are pretty much the go to group for insider knowledge on new tech & software. In previous episodes they already stated Sackboy was in development for PC.

I understand the scepticism around GT7 on PC. It was crazy talk just 18 months ago. But here we are with many of Sony’s major franchises already on, or announced, for PC. With huge growth expected in the coming years.

They've had 5 years to work on it, plenty of revenue in that time to cover costs.

By that logic there should never be any paid DLC or expansions. Which pretty much goes against the business model of most AAA titles.

For me the addition of the 13.5 mile Pikes Peak course would be pretty immense. Akin to something like the Hot Wheels expansion in FH4.

No, there is a difference between expansions developed after the game launches and something almost entirely finished before it launches. The costs are already covered just as they were any other track already done.

Also it might have been fictional but they already added a longer track for free in GT6, Sierra Time Rally.

No it hasn't, only the games with a listing that had or could have been a PC listing have come out on PC to date with perhaps one exception. As for Digital Foundary, they are either guessing or they are being misunderstood/misquoted. Do you have a link to where they claim it is in development for PC?

Yet that's not proof GT7 is in development for PC. GT7 could be, but what you are not doing is proving a case that it is. There is certainly no solid eveidence that it is, just some suggestive 1+1+1 = 4, you're still missing a very important 1 to get to that answer.

Adding to this, the optimist part of me also could further speculate that maybe the lack of cars is PD saving up for a big dlc pack, but that's a slippery slope of hope at that point.

Honestly I wouldn't complain if PD brought Pikes Peak along with a bunch of other hillclimbs (e.g. Goodwood) back in a DLC pack with an online time-trial type of thing attached to it.

I don't think they would (and I hope they don't), but if they were to include DLC I'd be want for it to be along those lines instead of a car/track pack that would split the already split community.

So then they'd want a premium $70 price for the game, extremely expensive MTX, and paid DLC?

If future additions aren't free, they might just be one of the greediest game devs in recent history.

Being predominantly an american car guy the invitations feel so useless to me.
Well... the invitations are a useless system in general.

In fact, I just thought of a much better way to lock cars behind a gate of progression - use your collector level to determine if you can buy the formerly invitation cars. For example - unlock the Enzo at level 20, LaFerrari at level 25, FXX-K at level 30, etc.

No. I said they could be working on a big update, I didn't say they would be charging money for it. They could, but I doubt they will.

As for your second idea, they could be, but I wouldn't go that far yet. Rockstar and Take Two right now in my mind are still the kings of greed. Ubisoft is also still worse with The Crew 2.

Apparently a GR86 Cup Car is already planned for iRacing. Surely its planned for GT7 too, right?

Why? There's already a Global Toyota Cup happening on GT7.

SRO Motorsports has been using ACC for Playstation events. They run almost all the higher profile events on PC because of agreements with event license owners to officially use a name. Like all of them with 24Hrs in the name.

Additional observation - I have not seen a single compliant about FIA not being in GT7.

I agree 100%.

If they charge for Pikes Peak I wont be getting it. I've already paid $120aud for the most complete GT to date. I currently do not have the most complete GT to date. Free Pikes Peak would be a step towards the most complete GT to date.

And before anyone jumps onto the the 'entitled' wagon, you're damn right I'm entitled. I am entitled to what I was sold, these greedy, lying ****s burned any trust and good faith I had in them after what they pulled with GT7. I can't get my money back because for some reason this industry can continue to lie to and basically steal from its consumer base and get away with it.

Promise one thing and deliver another, while remaining completely silent on the core issues clearly affecting a lot of players.

I guess we're going to be seeing this as 1 of the 3 cars in the June update...

Actually, spoke too soon. Make that 2 of 3:

Perhaps even 3 of 3:

OMG amen to that brother, I feel the EXCAT same way. I wish I never bought into PD's lies once again... Never ever giving them any chances again.
