The MC12 would require a new scan without being drastically different to the Enzo.
Besides the MC12 road car, adding the MC12 GT1 and GranTurismo MC GT4 could also allow Maserati to easily be part of the Manufacturers' Series, given that they're both real race cars, therefore, there's no need to create a fictional racing version to fill the gap.

...Are the laughing reactions really necessary/appropriate, guys? Ugh... =/
What do you mean? Kaz literally personally ruined their entire life because there are problems with the game. Surely that deserves at least a laughing reaction on a post with the man catching a desease many people died from?
(Would want to believe they accidently pressed a wrong reactiong though)

I need that yellow Evo right about now. I'm looking to experience... what do you call it... a Mirage?

Yes, I suppose that's what it's called.

I hate how popular this meme became. Even though I helped enable it.

There's also a GranTurismo MC GT3 race car that could be used for Gr.3.

In which, I do find it odd that PD hasn't given this brand much love. They introduced it to Gran Turismo back in GT5, then did nothing with it until now. Hopefully that means there will be a change and we'll see more Maseratis including the ones said above and the new MC20, maybe some more of the classic ones. but there's not certainty on that.

On another note, I'm happy that the Porsche 918 isn't an invitation only car. That way people that get the game later on won't have to wait so long for it. Part of me is surprised about that considering the La Ferrari was invitation only to buy.

Hmm, those of you racing on Hard difficulty level .. do you feel like the Neo-Classical races are insanely difficult? I have won/golded everything in the game so far, without encountering any major difficulties, but these races are driving me towards madness 😵
Yep, spent many hours pounding around Willow Springs trying to place higher than 4th on a no-stop race.

The AI won't always box and still have the ability to go 3 secs a lap quicker on a whim.

I'm sure there's an element of 'git gud' but this is a bit much.

I'm using the 92 Nissan Group C car, with RH tyres and Fuel Map 4 to make it to the end on fuel...tried the super fuel efficient Mazda 787B but it's got way too much mid corner understeer for me to have any confidence in it.

Well, given Merak was in the datamine, we could see some more. Maserati is a brand which could easily have more than 10 cars in the game so here's hoping.

Apart from the ones mentioned, I'd like to see a classic Quattroporte as well.

I always thought maserati never gets enough cars in racing games. This brand has almost as much history as Porsche but rarely gets much more beyond like the MC12, the Maserati GT and maybe the modern Ghibli.

I'm sure players would enjoy great looking cars like the original Ghibli, the Khamsin, the early 90s V6 Maseratis, the barchetta. So much material out there but unfortunately circles such as this just don't really consider Maserati.

Yup. I've tried the Willow race a few times and the Jag just puts boost on after a couple of laps and starts putting down fastest lap after fastest lap (fastest I saw was 1:06). Sometimes it pits on lap 9, sometimes it doesn't pit at all.

It's a bit ridiculous.

has xmas arrived early ?
9.Custom Race / Lobby
- ‘Load Settings’ and ‘Save Settings’ functions have been added to the settings screen in Custom Race and Lobby modes. Up to 50 settings can be saved for each of the Custom Race and Lobby modes.
 ・Load Settings
  - When loading settings from a different track, in Custom Race mode all settings except for the track, weather and time (both preset and custom weather) will be loaded. In Lobby mode all settings will be loaded.
  - When using ‘Rival Selection’ > ‘Select from Garage’ in ‘Rival Settings’, if the car saved in the race settings no longer exists in the Garage, it wil be replaced by the car the player is currently driving.
 ・Save Settings
  - As well as being able to save settings, it is possible to ‘Overwrite’ and ‘Delete’ previous settings from the new save button.
  - Settings may be named using up to 32 characters.
  - The save screen can also be accessed from ‘Lobby’ > ‘Quick Menu’ > ‘Race Settings’.
  - The ‘Ghosting During Race’ option under ‘Custom Race’ > ‘Penalty Settings’ has now been removed.

The lobbies are still unstable, host migration is still not an option, race status (ie. is a lobby currently running a race) is not implemented, entering a lobby and entering/exiting the pits still causes lag spikes, tagging players in-chat is still not an option...

This was supposed to be their redemption month. The next major quality of life update is sometime between now and October 😒😒.

It is very interesting with the history of Maserati and their links to Ferrari and such that they haven't been in more games. I am not Maserati owner but I have always loved their cars. They started the company in 1914 and started racing in the 1920s. Enzo Ferrari was a driver for the Maserati team how are they not have more cars in the game?

I first saw the Merak in the Top Gear budget supercars challenge, Jeremy’s Merak was the SS version and the engine had been rebuilt by the previous owner.

“The guy I bought this from just spent ten thousand quid rebuilding that engine. Sold the whole car for seven. Shows you how much the rest of it’s worth.”

Made a great sound though - before he took it round Castle Combe, it sounded quite poorly afterwards. It got worse after a service he performed, racing against Hammond and May to see who could change the oil and spark plugs in their car the quickest.

Or the August update...

Definitely agree with this. Though I will say on the bright side, Assetto Corsa and the Xbox One Forza games did at least give a bit more in terms of Maserati cars than those typical examples. AC has the Maserati Alferi concept, 250F in 2 variations, and newer Quattroporte plus the MC12 GT1, GT MC GT4, and Levante S. Forza Motorsport 7 for instance with the 250F itself, Tipo 61 Birdcage, 1997 Ghibli Cup, 1937 8CTF, and 1957 300 S plus the typical stuff.

Speaking of issues, weather radar seems to be broken in my current Spa race. Haven't seen this happen pre-patch (but fwiw it also was working in the neo-classic events, which rains).

Yeah, that's where I know it as well. Besides Quattroporte it's prolly my favorite Maserati and atleast near top 10 cars I would add to the game.

What exactly do you think is wrong here? looks like its working fine to me!

edit: ok see it now! Didn’t realise it was raining first time! 😂

Yeah but unfortunately you have to play Forza 7.

Compared to GT7 right now, FM7 is a godsend.
Think that varies per person, though. FM7 definitely has a lot of content but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the physics. Everything felt like it understeered, though Forza in general has always seemed to veer towards more understeery cars. I guess the best way I can explain it is that cars felt both heavy and literally glued to the ground, and not in a good way.

I didn’t get too far in the game so maybe modern FR cars feel better, but as I mentioned, Forza’s cars have always felt a bit understeery.

Not saying it’s bad, just not for me.
