I got it bookmarked :P

And only finishing position counts for DR calculations, nothing else. ut it is heavily dependent on the DR of the other drivers finishing ahead and behind you. Race against lower DR players gains you little, can cost you lots.
Thank you

This is pretty interesting.

When in 2-player split screen, offline mode, or occasionally in the pre-race menu, you'll see two separate PP values for your car. The value with decimal numbers and (usually) a higher value is the newer PP system, introduced in this game.

The smaller value without decimal numbers is the older PP system, used in GT5, GT6 and seen in the first GT7 trailers. This older system doesn't take tyres or tuning into account, only power, weight and downforce.

I wonder why two different PP numbers remain in the game.

Edit: I've talked about this before.

Question:
I made most of my GT7 friends on my second account and think about abandoning it. Is there an easy way to get the friendships over to my primary account?

300zx is now in the ucd
Finally! Now I can tell Luca to leave me alone. Dude keeps calling me all hours of the day and night. He comes over, unannounced.....like, ALL THE TIME.

And I'm just, "DUDE! I'll buy the car once it's available. Leave me alone! I want the prize, I really do. But I can't get it until I have all the cars. And I can't get all the cars until they're available."

So now maybe he'll stop bothering me about it.

Sounds like revenge for the time we all asked him about 86s and rotaries for two weeks straight...

So basically one of the new cars are a Pantera with a random livery, what a shame seriously
Reminds me of the cars with random ugly liveries Turn10 used to give players for christmas or halloween.
In any case those were extra and weren't part of car packs.

If that'll be one of the three....yes it's really gonna be a pathetic filler.

We literally have no way to say that is the case. I highly doubt Kaz is going to tease 3 cars including the Pantera when we already know it exists, it sort of defeats the purpose of the mystery! I'd say it's more likely we get the 3 cars and the Pantera as a "bonus".

The Dior car is the Mangusta. Anyway, it wouldn’t be the first time Kaz posted a silhouette of a car already announced. Let’s see. Personally I hope it’s not even a separate car, but merely a one-time collectible with a unique livery.

Ahhh I thought so! Other guy said Pantera so I just rolled with it lol

I assume you're reffering to the Toyota GR010? As far as I can tell, that's the only case I've seen and that was for a event that kinda warranted the announcement (Similarly the case for the GR86 in GT Sport for the Toyota GR Cup)

I seem to remember he also did it with the first Jaguar VGT.

Every time we knew some car was coming in the update and if there was a silhouette teaser before said update (i.e. that car was a part of usual month update, not some small update in the middle), that car was featured in the silhouette. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's the case.

The Gr.3 Suzuki? I think it was mentioned a car was coming in the future, but we got it sooner than later.

Technically you can say the same for the 2021 BRZ road car since they announced the BRZ would be eligible for the GR86/BRZ race in GR GT Cup, but people didn't pay attention to that.

Bit of a weird one here:
  • this data was removed in v1.18 (so I guess it must fallback to old data to still appear after that point?)
  • cars added later in GT7's development have this set to 0 PP
  • it is still stored as decimal, just like GT7's actual PP system, for example, the F1500T-A has:
  • - 841.535806655884 "old" PP,
  • - 870.260238647461 PP in GT7 v1.00,
  • - 911.093056201935 PP in GT7 v1.19,
  • - 929.0 PP hidden in GT Sport,
  • - 898.0 PP as the Lotus 97T in GT6
  • because it's a long decimal value, it's definitely calculated and not hardcoded like GT5/GT6's PP system: so it's a different system to GT6, and different values to released GT7. Probably just an old version of the GT7 formula that was changed prior to v1.00.

I find it very odd that Dragon Trail Gardens gets rain and night settings, when Seaside is by far the more beloved variant.

Same deal with Brands Hatch and Goodwood not having rain, when Britain is literally infamous for how rainy it is.
It is very odd indeed. Also with Spa, to only include 24Hr cycle on the 24h "layout", while the standard one stops at sunset.
With the lighting all dynamic, I can't imagine having 24HR cycles on all tracks is a huge feat. It really seems to be a design decision.

As Kaz did clarify a while back, 24Hr cycles is only included on tracks that traditionally hold day to dark endurance races, so I'm not expecting it to be added to other tracks. However, I really wish to see the variable weather on more tracks in the future.

I wonder if it's performance related. As another Seaside vs Gardens comp, on the PSVR mode in GTS Gardens has like 7 selectable times of day while Seaside only has 2.

There's also some odd discrepancies across a few tracks, almost every Lago Maggiore layout supports times from sunrise to dawn except the West / East layouts specifically which for some reason can only start from early morning and end a bit earlier.

Its probably because of way gt7 do dynamic daytime: its transition berween precalculated lighting not separated system (at least thats my guess)

Be happy that at least in the virtual world Britain is spared the rains ;)
