"Pogging" refers to a twitch emote called pogchamp, an emote used to "express excitement, intrigue, joy or shock". It's based on the old version of the emote which used Twitch streamer Gootecks' iconic expression during a stream.

A Cacodemon is an enemy from all of the main DOOM entries. Essentially it's just a pogchamp edit/photoshop of the original DOOM's cacodemon sprites
 I tried my English translate, but I still can’t understand what youre talking about. I’m old.

 @mynameis66 I used to pronounce it Meh-may. My wife and daughters cringed when I used to say it.

I was really hoping that GT7 was going to have realistic transmissions/assists for each car.

In GT - and indeed, most racing games - whether your car is an MT/AT, has ABS, TCS, etc. - can be easily tinkered with via a basic options menu, which then applies that setting to all cars. I would do away with that, and instead, have it be based on the car itself - at least when it's as-stock. If a car doesn't come with ABS, TCS, the ability to map fuel usage, and so on, you'll simply need to buy a part that does that. (Indeed, when it comes to fuel mapping, I prefer the idea of races with fuel consumption being based on the size of the car's gas tank and especially it's "natural" MPGs, with various newer race cars being an exception.)

As for transmissions, this is my favorite idea. Much like the assists, you wouldn't be able to change it via an options menu. There would technically be five different transmissions: AT, MT, Sequential MT, DCT, and CVT. You could upgrade an AT to either an MT or SMT, and likewise could make an MT car an SMT. For an MT, I would make L1 the clutch by default. Ideally, you could just look back by pulling back on the right analog stick, or better yet, there would be a rear-view mirror even in chase/hood view, rather than solely in the bumper cam. (On that note, I'd also show the actual revs outside of the bumper cam, rather than a more simplified version of what I think is the power band. Please correct me if that's not actually the power band that I've been seeing in hood view.)

Now, for DCTs, that's where you could actually pick between AT and specifically SMT - as I can't recall any DCTs with a clutch - from the setting menu.

Another, separate idea I had is that instead of always having races with accelerated fuel/tire use, I'd make that much less common, and in its place as a "standard," would be races with mandatory pit stops, a mandated tire compound or two (or even three) where more than one may be available, races where you can only take on so much fuel from pitting, and/or events where the refueling rate can notably affect when you pit, or if you even decide to pit at all. Similarly, with this dynamic time/weather, I'd also make the overwhelming majority of events only progress at 1x speed. For all these potential regulations, there would still be occasional exceptions.

I also would really, REALLY like the campaign to be further intertwined with Sport Mode, like if we had a Daily Race based on the Silvia Sisters event.

Actually, on these notes, I wonder if I should try emailing Three Fields Entertainment, what with former Criterion head-honchos Sperry and Ward being there, and see if I can channel my inner Ferruccio.

Licenses for car models from big brands, iconic tracks, and various aftermarket parts...are these really needed to create a game that captures the joys of motoring? I think I want to test that. Maybe design something that takes GT's motto, "The Real Driving Simulator," to heart - not only doing it better, but maybe even profoundly cheaper, too. And if I can't design it - as I have minimal interest in actually entering the gaming industry full-time - maybe I'll just write about it, get it published out there on like, Jalopnik or GameInformer...so that if I can't do it, a reader out there may decide to manifest my ideas, instead.

Of course, there's always the idea of posting it here, haha. Just let me know if you wanna hear more, maybe I'll start a thread. Heck, maybe I'll even try my hand at making my first game design document. But I can't say I'm a fan of waiting at least another three or four years for GT8, with me only being able to pray that it'll be more of what I want from GT.

Based on what? All the other Sony games full of MTs, FOMO and random prize mechanics? Oh no wait, that's just GT7 (and MLB for MTs).

Why won't anyone actually hold PD to account for anything round here? It's always Sony the scapegoat.
Yes, name another sony game online aside from MLB and Ghost ( which online was a free add-on). The last game released by sony with online MP was uncharted 4 which had MTX, FOMO features, and loot chest. Even Killzone had loot chest! But yes, let's all be big brains and forget that sony hasn't published a game with online play in a LONG time aside from MLB and most recently GT7 (which you admit MLB has MTX). You are really bad at deduction. Yes, let's blame polyphony and ignore the last of us factions had MTX (which came out before GT6) and uncharted 4 had loot boxes and MTX as well (which came out before Gt sport). Even Driveclub had MTX ( fame boosters) and charged you for events ( which were for the most part re-creatable in the race maker). The same sony that charges for online play is a saint.

Also, there is no way to pronounce ****ing Acronyms, , how do you pronounce GTP ? Jitp ? Yes, I'm a member of JITP ! /s

So your examples for current Sony policy are from 2013, 2014 and 2016? Sure. Seems legit.

I mean, if there were just a few games with loot boxes over the better part of a decade one might reasonably assume that it was individual developers making those decisions. But you've definitely established that games released by Sony consistently include microtransactions and other money grubbing tactics, so it's almost certainly their call that is the influencing factor here. It's not like SIE has released hundreds of games since 2013.

Nobody thinks Sony is a saint, but it's highly unlikely they're to blame for the GT7 MTX when Polyphony has been trying to work microtransactions into their games for the better part of two decades.

Hey, that's pretty good! 4 cars, and a week early. Good selection too! Slowly updating the GT3 roster (if that is the GT3 Nissan) is a very very welcome sight.

I must say, if this update does come with a track too, this has easy potential to be the best yet. Maybe this is where things start to turn around. Maybe I'm on copium. Maybe it's maybeline.

Bottom right is probably this?

The Mazda M2-1001.
The Hood crease and curvature makes me doubt it. Likewise, I can't see it being the Roadster RS from 1998 either as suggested earlier. Has to be something based on the Current MX-5. Maybe the axed car from GT Sport?

Things are looking very, very good for this update so far. More than 3 cars for once (I don't count that Dior disaster), an original track returning, and the selling feature supposedly already being complete, AND it's releasing a week earlier than expected.

Yeah, I am actually quite hopeful for this. There's a lot that's seemingly in the pipeline and having a good selection of 4 cars points me in a hopeful direction.

If this is a substantial update, it definitely will be a turning point for the game - and that will be so nice to see.

Let's see if the updates after this has 4 or more cars. Hopefully they don't go back to 3 cars again.
Quite nice selection of cars too.

Is the Merak going to be in LCD?

This confirms for me that PD has been listening.

Lots of complaints about the "boring" monthly updates of 3 cars and new track layouts alternating with a new track in bi-monthly turns. IOW, a new location every 4 months.

Hopefully it's decided to crank the new-location pace up too...

Finally they add the Merak, my favorite Maserati:bowdown:Easily the highlight for me.
Nice to see an updated GT3. Wish we would get more 4 or 5 door cars though.

I don't know enough about the Merak. What's the value on one of those?

Quite a big range, I'd say roughly 20K to 80K. Then there was the one in Top Gear, that had just gotten a 10K engine rebuild and sold for 7 :DSo take that as you will. It isn't the fastest or anything but for me it's all about it's design. Beautiful car.
