Why did kaz even promise the selling cars option if they arent going to implement it... he shoulda prally never said anything that way no false advertising or disappointment

Kaz said end of term. Could mean anywhere from the now to the announcement of a next GT. If there is a next GT.

A DLC pack i would buy,but not at 50% of the original game price,i dont think many people would to be honest.£10 would be a more realistic price for any add on pack,a small engine swap pack would be good too.
what if it included the much talked about sell-your-car option ? 🌝 i can't see that being a freebie,

They never gave a specific time frame for when it would be implemented so we can't say that they lied about it. And the feature has been found in the data. Why it's taking over half a year to make public though, who knows. Maybe they're planning to have it coincide with some other grand thing they're working on. Or maybe they're having trouble executing it with it not being just a car selling feature, according to Nenkai (I think he said that?).

I wish they would TELL US WHAT THEIR PLANS ARE to reduce all of this frustration and guessing.

Yes. That default is pretty much every race car. Except certain real world race cars. I use that "default" for my race set ups, for the AI.
The issue isn't so much that PD changed the default camber values. It's that they applied that value to my own tunes.

I cannot remember the values I've set on every car I have for multiple different tracks and PP levels because I counted on my saved tunes to be, well, saved.

These were values I've tweaked and iterated on since launch and I do not have the time or the energy to start from scratch all over again.

I just don't get it, they've added some excellent cars and pretty Scapes in this update... and five races which all pay 0.25x as much as The Only Four Events.

Not only is the pay pitiful, I've played four of these five new races so far and they're terribly boring, even compared to other races in the game.

The Silvia Sisters events in the previous update were alright, and now there's a fourth one at Tokyo South. This time the leader has a GT-R Nismo engine-swapped 180SX, which he brags about, and starts right at the front, making that fast car the only actual opponent in the race: chase the 🐇 at its worst.
Also, this is Tokyo Expressway's 10th single race in World Circuits, making it the first location with a second page of races, proving that even with this weird layout, every location could have 10 to 18 events, and obviously even more, if PD could be bothered.

Moving on, the new Menu Book is for classics, such as the Merak SS and '73 GT-R just added. Indeed, these two cars often appear in these races, with other 60s and 70s CM-tyre cars around the 450pp mark. However, they are utterly useless here, as the PP limit is 580.
You start at the back of a slow parade, the fastest cars in the world, (in the early 70s) Miura and Countach have a 1000m head start. The event is open to cars as late as 1989.
You catch the two rabbits, or don't, whatever, third place still gets you the stamp. Three stamps gets you a ticket, not an engine ticket, but a four-star. My ticket had five low-value cars on it. I won my fourth BMW i3. 🤡

It's a beautiful game to Time Trial in, though I can't shake the feeling that early in development, someone said "We have to make a new GT game with a single-player focus, it's the least we could do." and they've since then been doing R&D into exactly what "the least we could do" is.

For sure. Pain in the butt for those that do intricate tuning. I tune pretty much all my cars with same values as the Gr.4 cars. I can relate to those, who like me, had upwards of 1000 tuned cars.

I wiped the floor with that braggart in my rusty 1200 bhp S13. I taught that mother to run his mouth. Made him cry all the way back to Hong Kong.

My thoughts.

Firstly, positive ones. The game is getting better in terms of online and handling etc. I now enjoy the racing in this game as much if not more as I did in GTS.

Secondly, the negative ones.
As Gran Turismo has progressed through the years we saw, in the early iterations, full and completed titles with no updates or changes. This was, most of all, as it wasn't possible to add content or make a patch for your PS game. A game was a full game. Tested, polished, it worked and then was shipped.

Fast forward to the present. Gaming companies, brands, corporations.. if you will, are launching titles as a live service. These live service games are mostly rushed, devoid of a plentiful amount of content, unpolished, buggy and in some cases, absolutely broken.

This is the future of games. Trickle down content to the consumer, have them beg for crumbs with their hands held above their heads, as their masters give them the very bare minimum to keep a semi respectable and mutually coherent engagement level.

You will hear very often; "Where's the cars, tracks, missing features... This, that.. the other...??"

They are back in the older games.

The full ones that you will never see again.

GT is now a fully fledged live service. They can change anything at any time, add features they want when they want, change car handling, money reward values.... What can you do about it? Nothing. They have your cash. You are now at their mercy for whatever they have planned, what they will or will not complete, in the game you so desperately want to be the very best it can be...

This is live service through Sony. And they recently said they want even more of them going forward.

My advice as an OG GT player from day 1 GT1 in the late 90's? Just play the game as it is and how you want to. Stop pining for them to give in, listen, or give you what you feel the game is missing. Or even what they promised you. They lied to get you into bed. You just have to realize it.

Just enjoy it for what it is, what you bought. And hey, any bonus content is... Something?

There's nothing much more you, I or we can do about it. We can only ask for a refund if we're unhappy with a product.

But hey, we love GT.

We just don't love what they've made it become.

If you promise a feature but didn't deliver on it, there is a chance for it to be classed for false advertising (on top on the marketing on the PlayStation website and PS Store mentions the word selling while there's nothing sellable, for instance). The FTC fined Mattel Electronics $10,000 per month in 1982 for this reason, because they failed to release their heavily promoted and promised Keyboard Component upgrade for the Intellivision.

Where did he say that?

In his state of the union apology.
Odd reaction to a game update announcement.

The one slated as "near-term" but after the "end of April" updates? That one?
Beyond this there will be a few additional Updates deployed between now and the end of April which will add new cars and course layouts, as well as implementing some other fixes.

Finally, we also want to take the opportunity to lay out some of the near-term Updates we are working on. We can’t confirm an exact date or specifics yet, but will give advance notice via www.gran-turismo.com:

 ・Increase the reward payout of limited-time events as we develop as a live service;
 ・Addition of more World Circuits events;
 ・Addition of more Endurance Races to Missions, including 24-hour races;
 ・Addition of online Time Trials with rewards based on the player’s position in the online rankings;
 ・Being able to sell cars.

I've been playing with this new Character AI website thing the past few days, and it's actually a ton of fun. So hear me out on this.

Someone needs to upload Kaz as an AI into this website, so we can finally get some information out of him. We can ask him the things we've wanted to know for ages at this point, and we can finally get actual answers! It's our best option until PD hires some community managers, which looks incredibly unlikely at this point.

A sentient Kaz AI would be catastrophic. Can you imagine a PD device similar to Alexa?

Imagine asking for a recipe on chicken parmesan that takes years. Years to make.

Museum quality meal tho.

Where they hell are they? Promised back after backlash by Kaz himself. They sponsor Nurburgring 24 hours races, so why not make a race with tons of cars...updated GT3 cars, GT4, Porsche Cup/GT4 Cup, KTM X-Bow GT2/GTX, TCR and etc. Oh, right that will require an actual effort.

If I were to speculate dangerously...
I'd come to the conclusion that PD have a limited budget when it comes to updating this game, something happened. The fact that PS5 didn't sell as well due to both chip shortage and scalpers has left the first party studios with less Sony money than usual for post-launch updates... or at least when it comes to GT7, a driving title (boring!). The awful lack of cars every month is also quite telling. Really only what.. 3 or 4 cars each month the update drops? GT Sport updates had double that. Every. Month. Seems either they're holding back till they get more money later for bigger drops or that this is all they've got to give. Weird situation

They thing is they decided it to make it cross-gen. Maximizing profit as much as possible there

Yeah, Sony are practically living on scraps right now, what with a net worth of only about 80 billion dollars. /s

Most of the PD staff are going to be salaried. Whether the person or persons making events does 3 in a whole month or pulls their finger out and does 100, they're still costing them the same amount. Same for modellers, and such. In terms of travel expenses they seem to have plenty of cash to send photographers around the world for Scapes, I'm sure they can scrape together a few dollars to go and photograph/scan cars and tracks.

Yeah we really have no idea what's going on. But it seems foolish of them to give us slim pickings after such backlash. That's what drives the speculation
