Wait, not even in GT2 ?
Nope.

The battle between Savanna and Hakosuka is on the same level as those of the JGTC in the history of Japanese motorsport.
I don't understand the omission of the RX-3/Savanna.

But JGTC NSX is not present on GT7, so who knows what to expect with Kaz.

Lets not disappoint ourselves. With PD clearly checking the GT community, in regards to the sorting of the stupid glitch in Daily Race B, does it not hurt a bit that after months of promise and our complaints, neither is there a worthwhile stream of new cars or the promised sale of cars that materialized? It feels like we haven't even received a 3 pack of cars this month, so bland were they. At the moment my greatest enjoyment comes from the lobbies and car shows.. PD could integrate it into something, but I am not getting paid to do the development of this game.

The game got really rushed as seen in Nenkai's twitter posts. Once again...I guess Sony just doesn't learn. It's just saddening to see such game franchise nowadays on our TVs for as long as ~25 years.

I would say that game should've came out around spring 2023 and only on PS5. But it is what it is.

With current updates it seems that we can only hope to get a bigger one before the end of an year, that's our only hope. Just around a week one-two away from a november one...but very important one at that, because as always expectations rise up and last track was added in June as we got 4 sort of new cars in the last one

I'm not convinced it would even be much better by then. It's not far away now, and at this rate updates won't add much in the next few months.
So in almost 1 year they just did what they released witht the updates? i hope not because with my work if i work like this, they fire me eheh

Part of it is certainly that a lot of development is on the next game now, but it's still shockingly bad after GT Sport. We still don't know why they're actually being so slow this time.
I've heard a lot of excuses floating around; cross-platform updates being harder to manage, aero parts and upgrades slowing down car production, even some severe copium about PD secretly holding back some massive amount of content for a big future update. But none of it explains how the rate of car and track additions has fallen off a cliff since GT Sport.

Last I heard, PD were finally outsourcing modelling for some of the cars. You'd surely think that would speed things up.

How much work can be going into the next game, if Kaz mentioned cars are future proof? 300+ cars were ported over. From what we see in GT7, the reading heads don’t take much because, the actual people didn’t even know they were being used in that manner.
The only thing that would take time are the tracks. Those were ported over with a couple updates To two older tracks and a couple brand new circuits. The events are nothing. Weather conditions and AI seem to be their Achilles heel. Maybe those are the things they continuously need help with. I guess that’s what slows them down. I don’t know.

The next game should probably, probably should be PS5 exclusive. If a next console comes out before a GT8, I just wouldn’t know what to say about that.

Sambabus. That is all that can be said about the customization in this game. A car that is claimed in game text to be able to be customized to owners content but only has one option - emblem or no emblem.

How likely is it that it's the cross-platform development that's slowing them down, then? I want to hear some thoughts on this.

'Cause it's the first time they're doing this.

Ultimately nobody knows, it's just speculation.

It's one of those things that it makes sense to feasibly have slowed down development, such as if they had a large part of the workforce ironing out crossgen issues (and thus less people working on content) but really it could also be many other things. Like I said, just speculation.

Hard to say how much it slows them down, but since it doubles the platforms they must support it would certainly result in their QA resources being thinned out more than just a single platform.

Car modeling likely wouldn't be affected too much, since they create those to a very high polycount and they probably just use one of the lower generated LODs on PS4. Track modeling would be similar, with the key differences just being a lower polycount and less asset density on PS4. There could be other factors we are unaware of as well. Since all of the post-launch updates are free, perhaps Sony has made budget cuts which have affected the number of outsourcers they can hire for new tracks and cars. After all, they're not making any profit off of it. If they were looking to make cuts I'd imagine that would be one of the first things.

The biggest detriment with cross-gen development is most likely the fact that they must support the PS4 CPU and have parity between the platforms. The PS4 already had a weak CPU, even by 2014 standards, and so if they didn't need to support that there is a lot more they could do with the simulation aspects that run primarily on the CPU rather than GPU. I imagine that when they updated their custom game engine for the PS4 that they offloaded as much work as possible from the CPU to the GPU, like many other Sony first party developers have talked about. If they only supported PS5 then they wouldn't need to rely on this as much and could run a lot more on the CPU as the PS5 has a CPU which is a lot more powerful relative to the console's release date. Most of what I mentioned just now, however, would have been what their engine team was working on prior to the GT7 release, and although they still make changes to certain aspects of the rendering with updates I don't think this is really much of a factor in their content pipeline. Most of their engine team is probably now working on optimizing their engine just for PS5, PSVR2, and GT8.

Of course, this is all speculation since I don't work at PD.

So, it's been a few days. Weren't we supposed to hear something about the new track by now? Or is someone's definition of "a few" different from mine?

Why is Sony to blame here? It's been five years since GT Sport was released. Thats on PD because by anyones standards that is ample time to build a functioning game that builds on the foundations of its predecessor.

Nah. The most glaring problems with the game aren't fixed with more time, they're just bad design decisions. That's not on Sony, that's on Polyphony. If anything, Sony is learning that giving Polyphony more time doesn't help, but when they're getting 4+ years between games they're hardly being held to a tight schedule.

How often, Used Cars and Legendary Cars get refreshed?
The dealerships update daily, but the cars go through cyles where they are avaiallbe, then they become limited Stock and only have a day or two left, they they go to sold out for 1 day before a new car replaces them.

So, cars no longer available in both Dealerships (for example Lamborghini Diablo, Mercedes Sauber), will appear again sometime in the future.
Is that right?

This. I understand people don’t want to buy in to other racing games because they’re not Gran Turismo. I understand the loyalty. I also understand the flaws of games that are not Gran Turismo, but I tell you, people are missing out on so many other tracks. Just to experience them. Algarve is an awesome location.

I can just dream about how all the circuits in PC2 would look in GT7, but it ain’t gonna happen. That’s why it’s good to experience other games. Even with their certain headaches.
Pc2, 3, and fm7 have amazing tracks. I wish they would come to gt7.
Algarve
Long beach
Road atlanta
Road america
Circuit of the americas
Yas marina
Zolder
Hockenheim
Sebring
Mugello
Imola
Donington park
Sugo
Somona
Silverstone
Indianapolis
Would love to have them all in gt7, but probably will never happen.

I tend to take the vague, cryptic twitter posts with a pinch of salt.It is what it is now,we get what we get when we get it,even some ytube videos are saying update this week, road atlanta coming this week, etc.I think people interpret leaks or teasers differently. 👍
