You've always got to read Nenkai's posts in the context that he is only a data miner. He doesn't work for PD or Sony (Nor does he ever claim to), he doesn't know any internal planning. He only knows what he finds through the game, and that is never going to be fully reliable. He's just digging up whatever incomplete scraps he can.

Sadly it seems far too many (not here) take what he says as if they're official PD press releases. Turning a hint at a track into 'Road Atlanta definitely coming next update' was crazy from that Youtuber.

I get it now.I thought he was somehow connected to pd,especially the way some people seemed to hang on his comments, its all clear now, thanks for putting me straight. 👍 Like you said, how does ytube go from a hint to`update coming this week`.lol

I've heard a lot of excuses floating around; cross-platform updates being harder to manage, aero parts and upgrades slowing down car production, even some severe copium about PD secretly holding back some massive amount of content for a big future update. But none of it explains how the rate of car and track additions has fallen off a cliff since GT Sport.

Last I heard, PD were finally outsourcing modelling for some of the cars. You'd surely think that would speed things up.
GTS launched in undercooked form, with mediocre reviews, underwhelming sales, and a severe lack of content. A month after release the title had an official price cut (35-40%) including on PSN.

We were well into mid-gen and Sony/PD needed to rescue the title. Updates where substantial and completely random. As if PD where pumping out everything they produced (which I’m sure they where!).

GT7 had a smooth launch with critical and commercial success. There was the MTX controversy, which wasn’t content related, and ultimately didn’t have an effect on the titles commercial trajectory. Updates have followed a familiar pattern some 8 months into the titles lifecycle.

This debate has been had many time overs. Some believe DLC releases are dictated by production capacity or the whim of PD. I’m firmly of the belief (like all multi-million £ projects) such things are dictated by multi-year marketing strategies.

We can only make an informed assessment when we see GT7’s full DLC slate and the amount of new cars/tracks in GT8. One things for sure, this generation is going to be the longest to date. Game development isn’t getting any quicker, and it makes ever more sense to support a title over a longer period. Including updated re-releases.

Many datamined lists include legacy code unrelated to GT7. For the rest, at best, you can say they’re in PD’s plans.

When Nenkai highlights a particular feature, car or track. It’s because it’s being actively worked on in the latest code. He’ll never post car or track assets. But we do see screens from the likes of the car selling feature & VR showroom.

As for actual release candidates. I’m sure he knows what is ready. But there’s a myriad of reasons why something may slip. Particularly for licensed content.

Put your fault finding radar down, if you actually read what he's saying the first part you quote is reference to GTS while the second is GT7,

Jeez man calm yourself down, let people express their opinions and have a drive in the game and enjoy it. the hostility around here is ridiculous.
No, he's right to point out. If they are multi-year stratergies then the GTS updates were planned years ahead and resources allocated accordingly.... Or PD have the freedom of control to dictate thier own schedule on thier own timeframes and allocate resources on the fly.

In either case there is a deliberate drop off of content being pumped out. We don't know why that is. It oculd be GT8, it could be holding off for a larger update, it could be for a number of other reasons. But whatever it is, regardless of if he is right or wrong, @Nathan88 is just guessing and his argument isn't without it's flaws.

To his credit, he's a very optomistic person when it comes to GT7, but with that you still should try to balance your optomism with some degree of fact.

That's exactly the point, he's saying that he believes GT7 is on a pre-agreed marketing plan because all games are, yet he also says that GTS updates PD were just putting out whatever they had randomly. If that wasn't a pre-agreed plan, why can't GT7 be the same? It could, he doesn't know.

Oh, and I don't see how four words are "hostile" or not calm.

Pc2, 3, and fm7 have amazing tracks. I wish they would come to gt7.
Algarve
Long beach
Road atlanta
Road america
Circuit of the americas
Yas marina
Zolder
Hockenheim
Sebring
Mugello
Imola
Donington park
Sugo
Somona
Silverstone
Indianapolis
Would love to have them all in gt7, but probably will never happen.
A while ago I was playing GT Legends on the PC, an they had this totally awesome modding comunity putting out literally hundreds of tracks(some even in better quality than the original tracks), especially many tracks that are not existing anymore-my favorite tracks in those days were:

Cadwell Park
Spa old course
Guia Circuit(Macau)
Virgina Raceway(!!!)
Pacific Raceways
Greenwood Roadway(!!!)
Meadowdale International Raceway(!!!!!!!!)
Solitude
Citciut de Charade(original Layout)
Reims-Gueux
Rouen-les-Essarts

I am afraid none of them will ever appear in GT...🙁

Optimistic, not wasting my time dreaming about unrealistic expectations.

GTS had a mediocre reception which resulted in an about change in strategy from Sony with a significant price cut. We can speculate about PD's DLC plans, but to me it resembled damage control, rescuing a poor launch in the knowledge they were in the latter half of the PS4 lifecycle.

PD and Sony have not deviated from their GT7 DLC plans, despite pressure to do so. Looking at the history of Gran Turismo it's not unreasonable to expect 2-3 years of support. The World Finals is the first milestone I'd expect something over and above the norm. Whether that's actual content, or Kaz laying out longer-term plans.

The big unknown will always be GT8. There's that nagging feeling Sony/PD will push out a PS5 only Gran Turismo earlier than you expect. Just as there was pressure for cross-gen, we're now seeing PS5 owners pushing for full next-gen titles as supply improves.

I hope this doesn't mean that ingame content will be locked to people who have no interest in watching the GTWS.
I mean it went up on the official site about ten hours back...
We will also be holding a daily 'Viewer Campaign' throughout the GTWS 2022 World Finals.

Correctly answer questions related to the races at the World Finals to win in-game Credits, Parts Tickets and other great prizes!

Fantastic. Wonder if any of the update cars will be locked behind this campaign.
Although I can't say for sure, the chance of anything but a special livery version of a car being locked behind anything at all is slim at most.

That Viewer Campaign thing does seem pretty interesting. Especially the fact that you can earn parts tickets from it. I need some more S parts!

Actually, I don't think I'm gonna quit GT7, but I do think I could benefit from switching it up (pun possibly intended) and playing something else for a bit. Or maybe watch some movies, or some anime. I heard "You're Under Arrest" is a neat relic - it's how I learned about the Honda Today G and the original Subaru R2. Hopefully those two will either come to GT7 or a future title, alongside other cars that've been featured in media, like the older Dodge Charger from both the Dukes of Hazzard and The Fast & the Furious.

It also doesn't help that I've been getting over a cold for the first time in a good while, so that's not exactly gonna help my motivation to do anything that isn't making/drinking tea and resting. I actually had to call outta work this morning since I work in a hospital. I may have tested negative for Covid, but in this state, I really don't feel comfortable handling meds that are meant to get handled by nurses that then get administered to oncology patents and possibly a few neonates.

On the other hand, GT7's first iteration of the Worlds Finals is coming up. Although it ain't exactly the FIAGTCs, I'm still thinking this will be where we could see something much more notable. And if not? Well, then I suppose I'll just extend my break from GT7.

I also don't know about racing in this week's Daily Race A. Yeah, the last time I checked, I had a pretty OK time with the GR Yaris despite being ~200lbs above the minimum weight, but on the other hand, we're talking about road cars with what feels like a very low minimum weight and a pretty high HP limit of 345, on Tokyo Expressway. So I might finally try my hand at the current online time trial instead. Sure, it's another GT-R, and it's at Interlagos again, but I think a road-going R34 GT-R is very, very different than a R35, let alone one that's been outfitted for GT500. For one thing, the former is 4WD and the latter is FR.

But all of this is pure speculation, you have no actual evidence of any of it.

However there is evidence that PD have deviated from thier GT7 DLC plans, do you not remember the announcment and following DLC after the review bombing took place? That certainly didn't follow the pattern and that and the following DLC are to date the only ones that introduced high paying events and additional missions.

So the evidence suggests they did deviate, and if they can deviate for GT Sport and/or GT7 then this suggests that they can choose what to add and when. There is no evidence that PD are planning what cars and events will be included in their DLC pack 8, 9, 10 months from now. Sure, they will be planning cars and tracks months ahead, because they take months of work create, events take hours, the feature for selling cars won't have taken a team of 3 people 3 months to develop.

No doubt they'll have an idea of where they are going, but I also have no doubt that they could push more cars out per month than they are and they certainly could push more events out per month if they wanted. No one at Sony will be telling PD you can only add x number of events this month or y cars, it'll be all on PD to make use of the cars and tracks they have the rights to.

Lost all my favourite links in chrome in my new phone. Could you guys fetch me the link to the site with the campaign rewards, engine swaps and Most important the list of daily available used and legendary cars. Thanks!

So does this mean an update on this coming monday?
The most likely time is November 24th, in parallel with the start of the finals (Thursday is Nations Cup Regional finals).

It won't affect the World Finals because they use a specific game build - and in LAN mode - but the update will hype the Finals and the Finals will hype the update. December 1st is an alternative but it wouldn't be as effective.

We should see an announcement on November 19th/20th if it's coming on 24th.
