Not necessarily, I think it might be for only Asian devs (apart from that other special award) as neither TLOU2 nor Ghost of Tsushima got the award in 2020 but instead it was given to Death Stranding (tracking period was November '19 to October '20) even if Death Stranding was released half a year earlier. TLOU2 sold over 4 million in 3 days and Death Stranding just recently passed 10 million players (not sold copies) and it includes PC and PC Gamepass(?) figures as well. So I would guess one of those would have outsold Death Stranding by then. So could go either way in this case.

As a huge Horizon fan it's kinda tragicomedic how the franchise entries thus far have been released right next to BOTW and Elden Ring. Guessing the third one might release next GTA6 or something. Still, the first reached 20 million and second's been getting as far as I know roughly the same figures as the first one, up on some markets while down on others.

Edit: Ghost also had sold 4 million by 2020 partner awards.
It's indeed only for Asian devs, as in another year they state the special award is for "Titles developed in the Japan / Asia region in conjunction with SIE Worldwide Studios that have amassed the highest worldwide sales"

So GT7's competition was probably uhh... Ghostwire Tokyo and not sure what else.

I know there's a lot of love and want, for seeing Silverstone back in GT, but I believe they've previously said the licensing fees being charged by the circuit are just too high.

I believe Suzuka charges a lot too, but presumably there's more demand for that circuit within PD than Silverstone, which I understand.

I just say again, give us a ton more races around the existing layouts. Like these endurance events Kaz spoke about on his mythical road map. We're still in a state where tracks like Monza and Interlagos only have a handful of races.

Assuming that we're talkin' about original courses and not real-world circuits, here are the courses I'd wanna see:

GT4 - Either El Capitan or Autumn Ring, but I think the latter debuted in a previous title. The city courses, on the other hand, would likely need notable updates, but if we could get an updated circuit based on Manhattan, that'd be fantastic. Can't say I really care about the rest, though it'd be nice to see some of the same locales like Citta di Aria or Costa di Amalfi but with layouts better suited to a circuit rather than a time attack.

GT5 - Madid and London seem too tiny for most races, so I'd rather either see Circuito di Roma or Cape Ring. I also don't think it'd be worth it to bring back Eiger Nordwand, as the sole tarmac-based layout is similarly too small. Or at least I'd say so.

GT6 - Circuito de la Sierra, please! What else is there really for GT6? GT Arena? Matterhorn? I mean seriously...

As for real-world circuits, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I want the return of Suzuka West, Twin Ring Motegi, Monaco GP, Silverstone, the Goodwood Hillclimb, and the Ascari Race Resort. Oh, and not to mention Indy, complete with the infield course.
I actually liked Matterhorn with all of its tricky elevation changes and interesting corners. There's one layout that was pretty good for low speed car racing which GT7 is kinda lacking in. On top of that, the new dynamic conditions would look great there and PD would probably bring back the 24hr cycle it had.

Do you not think GT7 is lacking smaller tighter circuits for lesser powered cars to race on though? You do need big wide, fast tracks and smaller tight ones in a game like Gran Turismo IMO. That said, I lke all of your choices rexcept for Cape Ring, I found that track to be dull and uninspired personally, but I really liked London and Circuito de la Sierrra needs to come back, it was wasted.

Anyone know why my p1 gtr is driving so bad on a wet track?

I try rain tires and it was like it was on ice, then IM and its still sliding all over the place look.

I just cant control it. :(

These are heavy wet conditions IMO.

Either be more careful on the throttle or crank up the TC (or both)

I also always shift the break balance +2 towards the rear in the wet.

You're laying on the throttle and braking as if you were in the dry. What were you expecting?
He's got all the aids on though. Plus, auto trans and he's not going all out on the turns. Me. personally, I turn all that off, but ABS.

Don't use all the throttle. Your just spinning the tyres as there isn't any grip. The same with the brakes aswell.

Looks fine to me. You're just braking a bit too late. Also I'd turn of every assist bar traction control and ABS because that's all you need.

Like many have said, I think turning off the assists will help greatly (leave ABS on). With things like stability control, often your own inputs to correct a slide will combine with the aid, causing an over correction.

But yeah, while the wet tyre is supposed to deal with the wet weather, it's still slower so you need to brake earlier and be gentle with the brake and throttle.

The car as a metric ton of power and it's trying to put all that power down through two small contact patches with the rear tyres, which themselves are trying to deal with the water.

The way I like to think of it, treat the car with some mechanical sympathy, like you're working with that car, not trying to surprise it with sudden inputs (like going immediately 100% on the brakes or throttle).

Think it was Jackie Stewart who said, treat the car like it's an angry dog. If you startle a dog, there's no telling how it will react. But if you calmly talk to the dog as your approach it, let it know you're there, it's less likely to do something unpredictable.

Now, I may have butchered his analogy there, and I don't have a dog, nor am I a three times world champion, but hopefully some of these words help.

I decided to this out myself because it looked fun.. Even on full wets it's a handful but totally manageable with no aids aside from ABS

Mine would be based on city tracks that held venues as GT World Series events.

GT4 - Cote d'Azur, Las Vegas (this time as a full race track instead of a drag strip), New York, Paris, Tokyo R246

GT5 - Circuito de Madrid

New to series: Sydney

However, for more variety, and so it's also a bit like Project Gotham Racing, I'd like to see new layouts in tracks like New York and Tokyo, besides the original Times Square and Route 246 layouts, respectively, such as:

  • Fifth Avenue
  • Brooklyn Bridge
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport

  • Shibuya Crossing
  • Akihabara
  • Odaiba

Are multiplayer lobbies still laggy for everyone or just me? Sport mode lobbies have barely any lag, the in game network quality guide thing says I have Nat2 and high bandwidth.
If it’s everyone then what is being done about it?
If it’s just me then what do I do to improve it? I’ve got a decent and stable low ping connection, and no lag or latency on other games or devices.
Wi-Fi and Ethernet both suffer, Wi-Fi on 2.4gHz and 5.
Ruining the game for me - anyone got any advice?

Recently had another bizarre GT-related dream that told me 12 cars were coming in the December update, including a Ford Falcon and Holden Monaro. I also remembered something about a "Willy Wonka" Ferrari... whatever that means. Woke up very confused.

Honestly, at this point I should make a lore book out of my unhinged GT7-related dreams.

Yeah, you should, those are some crazy stories XD

I might just have to. You know, sometimes I feel like Kaz is sending me hidden messages telepathically while I sleep. And sometimes it feels like foreshadowing.
I recently had a vision in a dream that there was a new "Racing Muffler S" part for the Lexus RC F and LC500... but then I woke up and there was no such thing.

I really need to stop playing GT7, it's damaging for my health
Less than a month after this dream, bonanza happens and I get S parts for these two cars. Not racing mufflers, mind you, but S camshafts.
This is extremely tangentially related to the datamined list, but I recently had a bizarre dream in which multiple cars from the datamined list appeared in GT7.

I was in a yellow Camaro Z28 and later a black Corvette C3, racing on BB Raceway at night. Here are some of the new cars I was up against:

LFA '10 (datamined)
430 Scuderia '07 (datamined)
Corvette C5 Z06 "Clinger" '00 (a yellow corvette with different wheels)
Corvette C5 "Confidence" '00 (a matte black corvette with a bodykit that changed the car's look, presumably a SEMA car)
Corvette C3 '81
Sport Quattro '83
Spyker C8 Aileron '09
Spyker C12 Zagato '08

I also raced against a few cars that were already in the game, namely the Camaro Z28 and '78 Firebird.

I tried to hear the car's engines by entering Replay, but I kept forgetting, and then I woke up. Maybe this is just a sign I need to stop playing GT7... 😂
This one hasn't yet come to fruition, but I did end up recreating it as a custom race.
I recently had another bizarre GT7-related dream. I once again saw a vision of the great LFA, but accompanying it were about 10 colour variations of a mysterious Volkswagen concept car, all sold as separate vehicles.

What is the meaning of this?
Less than a month after this dream, a Volkswagen concept/prototype car shows up in an update. As for the duplicate angle... well, the Porsche VGT Spyder came out in the same update.
I keep having these bizarre GT-related dreams...

This time, the October update had added the Ford Model T and two bikes, for whatever reason. (I think a Ducati and a Hayabusa.) Grand Valley was in there too, but no car selling.

Everyone in this thread was laughing, dogpiling on Kaz and PD... I think at some point Nenkai posted, saying two more bikes were in the datamines - a Kawasaki and a Honda CB. The entire comments section of his tweet was full of "WHERE HARLEY-DAVIDSON" and "GIVE ME HARLEY OR I UNINSTALL THIS TRASH GAME!!!"

It was very strange and very amusing.
Nothing about bikes or the Model T, but at least we know Grand Valley's coming.

Don't eat to much in the dinner... :) :)

This is what happens when you accrue 999 Madman’s Knowledge in Bloodborne.

@hyperspeed980, I also know well the threads of such odd dreams. They visit and wrap around my mind at irregular intervals, but oh how the wisdom greets me!

On a not-so-jokey note, I once had a dream where I got hit by a nuclear bomb. In a Call of Duty multiplayer map. In the wrong game (it didn’t have a nuke as a killstreak).

I felt some sort of estimation of pain flood through my body, and my vision turned white. I had to lay and think about it for a couple of minutes. I’ve felt fear in dreams but never pain that felt so real. And I don’t think it felt like pain, pain. It was like pain, but not. Hard to explain, but it hasn’t happened since.

I notice I have the most vivid dreams when I go back to sleep after waking up. Not sure if it’s 100% of the time, there might be times where I don’t remember waking up, thinking back on it. But it does seem like it happens most frequently then.
