Almost everybody gets that at first. You have to get used to it - once you do (and everybody does eventually) holy ****.

Agreed, my first headset was psvr2 and the immersion is absolutly fantastic, got sick the first time, but after my 2nd go it was fine even with longer periods.

Its shame no racing games besides gt7 does vr at all for console.
 
Given PD's history, I don't believe that GT7 will receive revolutionary updates, which will suddenly add a relevant number of modern racing cars and super sports cars and several circuits. Its GT7 structure is this, and it will not be now after almost three years that it will be reinvented.

I think that until the end of 2025 we will continue with this pace of updating, that is, one or two circuits perhaps, half a dozen modern and electric cars, another half a dozen classic street cars and two racing cars, probably.

The year 2026 should be sparse with updates for the new game to be released at the end of the year.

You talk about GT8, but I don't believe that this will be the next PD game.

Based on historical references, PD has always worked with an appetizer or preparatory game before launching a numbered game.

I speculate that PD will launch GT Sport 2 or something similar, probably at the end of 2026, taking as a reference the launch window from GT6 to GT Sport, and GT Sport to GT7.

And, in this game, the new GT3, GTE, GT2, LMDh, LMh, TCR racing cars should appear, and also some fictional ones, in short, those cars that we are all wanting for GT7.

After all, that's what PD did within the production window between GT6 and GT Sport, producing several new, modern and original racing cars that we had never seen in the franchise.

It happen once, dosent mean it will happen again, their is no reason why not all those stuff could be featured for gt8.
 
I know this is on a PS5 devkit for the live events, but I wonder if this'll ever be a thing for the retail version?

Random question: Am I the only who's not a fan of the gyro like movement with the in-car camera view in Replay? Prepping to record some footage from a race I did at Daytona (Where it's the most eregrigous) and it just does not sit well with me.
 
I personally do wonder about how features like the Used Car Dealership and Legends Dealership are handled for when the GT7 server ends. My biggest hope would be they immediately become in-game based instead of real-time based as they should've been when the game first came out.

You're not the only one. I sometimes get a bit dizzy or acrophobic for a few seconds when the view turns too much. Edit: Off-topic, but huge mountains like at Dragon Trail, Sardegna and Eiger Nordwand gives me Megalophobia. Multiply that by about five times in bad weather.

I don’t recall there being an enforced PP for the Evolution Meeting, but regardless, I’m planning on taking my Escudo-swapped Lancer Evolution X and actually tinkering with the power/weight to get it down to just below 600 PP. Heck, maybe I could even try getting as low as 550!

My thoughts after this 2024 support.

GT Sport (Online GT7): I´m not an online player so this is not relevant for me.

Career mode...well, PD did nothing to improve the boring and the disaster implementation of the cafe menus. This is GT7 and no more. I hope for some more fun career mode in GT8.

Tracks: I love Eiger but this track is just for small and medium cars nothing more, nice addition but i expected something more this year in this point.

Cars: With ups and downs...
- 5 Race cars, each one of them for each race category except GR4:
  • Genesis VGT (GR1): Man thanks to PD for remember this class exist. Just a fictional VGT and nothing more relevant. The safe place.
  • Toyota GT One (GR2): A rocket in Le Mans and speed tracks, beautiful as ****. Not complains about this, i hope for one more in 2025, the 911 GT1 98 or R390 GT1.
  • Honda GT500 "Castrol Mugen NSX" (GR3): Competitive car in GR3 field, nice addition with to much nostalgia.
  • Subaru Impreza 1998 Rally Car (GRB): hmmm the rally in GT Sport and GT7 is really anecdotic, nothing more to add. Nice car but this is pure nostalgia and that's it. I found the Celica a little bit better overall.
  • Mercedes Formula 1 old car:...just for fun and to fill the roster car selection.
The rest of street cars, a lot of Porsches and one Ruf, great cars, some supersport old machines, a little bit of everything. But why again duplicate cars like the Jimny i never undestand that PD decisions. The problem of this is the implementation of those cars in the game. You buy it and goes to the vault, i see you later.

I hope for some more car jewels in 2025 but more than that, i don't think so. Maybe one more track or maybe not.

Where is this idea even coming from? Is there remotely ANY evidence or is this simply a statement less based in fact and more on your dissatisfaction with how the game is?

The fact that a demo that's more or less a far easier barrier of entry to the franchise was created this year (more then likely to increase sales of said game, especially during a time when a big ol' discounts were also happening) directly contradicts the idea that support for GT7 is about to somehow dry up anyday now. I get that people are dissatisfied but these repeated claims feel less like statements made or rooted in reality and more in disappointment that some unrealistic expectations were not met.

And before anyone gets any dumb idea (because unfortunately we live in a world where people cannot separate disagreement from being "attacked" or whatever excuse is in vogue this week), no where am I saying that you aren't allowed to be dissatisfied. Hell, I myself have many things I'd like to see addressed moving forward (I'm even in the process of scripting and putting together a video for said topic). What I am saying is the need to constantly beat this same old doom tune (and not even the good sounding one made by Mick Gordon) about "Support drying up" purely due to things you aren't satisfied with is unreasonable and unnecessary. I may not have been playing the game since release but even I've been keeping up long enough to notice that PD weren't exactly more energetic or generous with previous updates, the pattern has barely changed and last I checked, PD informed us about GT Sport not receiving anymore support so unless I've somehow missed a similar announcement for GT7, excuse me if I'm not exactly seeing the point where PD's support has begun to "Dry up" as is repeatedly indicated.

The thing with looking back over 2024 is, with the single exception of the new physics from the July update, I don't really feel like the game has changed at all from how it started the year. It's pretty much the same but with more cars, more events, more scapes, a bit more Sophy support and Eiger Nordwand. Maybe I'd feel differently if I had a Pro, I don't know.

Comparatively, in addition to the 2023 content, early 2023 added PSVR2 and 120FPS support, mid 2023 had some nice QoL updates like buying engine swaps, GTWS championship rewards and the ultimate section of the tuning shop, and late 2023 has the Spec II additions and Weekly Challenges that changed how you approach the postgame.

Doubt it's the last year of support when PD just released that "My First Gran Turismo" demo that's made to get more people to get GT7. We're likely getting 2 more years at least of support for this game before moving onto GT8 or whatever is next for Polyphony.

With that said, the QoL changes to the game have been good and made GT7 go from an absolute disaster to being just about okay. The offline racing is about as lengthy as Gran Turismo 2, minus the endurance events. But with that possibility of a B-Spec mode on the horizon plus whatever else, that could help change the game a bit.
 
For me 2024 was:

-2 new cars in my favorites tab
-1 terrible track
-Sophy on the Nordschleife <3
-Physics update that I have gotten used to and don’t really have an opinion on anymore.
-Surprisingly significant update to the VR experience.

Why do people think it's a dumb idea that 2025 could be the last supported year? By December 2025 the game will be 3 months away from its 4th anniversary.
PD are in the game industry, a business. They won't make any money if they keep updating GT7 for years.
They launched a demo with discounts to give a (not necessarrily) final push of sales.
The announcement of a next game is very much possible in late 2025 and after that GT7 won't be in the focus anymore.

GT7 has maintained a strong sales momentum since it was released in early 2022. It’s safe to assume that PD is more than capable of running a healthy video game business without pushing a major game onto the market within the next couple of years. Manufacturers and business partners also use GT7 to advertize their products. Michelin, Tomica, GTWS sponsors, etc. It’s easy to imagine the cash flowing into PD’s pockets from multiple directions.

Question is whether MFGT is successful at attracting new GT7 players. I don’t think the trial does a good job showcasing the best qualties of GT7, so I’m afraid PD might have missed a good opportunity there.

It's the first race where I tried the Escudo swap! It's a really smooth drive despite the ultra peaky engine. Once you learn it, it's quite easy to start overtaking the other cars and have some fun doing so.

Can never be fun with the AI as it is.

Because of the stigma to the Japanese ones, would you think that something like 430 Scuderia is a duplicate to base F430? Or that Zonda C12S is a duplicate to Zonda C12? Or SL600 and SL65 AMG?

Going to just agree to disagree here. I could elaborate on why, but I don't care enough about discussing this.
 
We don't need another GT Sport we need a Proper GT(8) Title with everything included that was missing in GT7...B-Spec, GT League etc.
GT7 is nearly 3 years old, at this point I can't see why we should hope for GT8 to correct everything wrong with GT7, especially since many things could have been corrected with the existing content, without further development or update.
