Dont tell them, you'll forever miss out on GT weekly events, yikes. How is DTM event going?Don’t tell them that you can’t get past Forza Reward cars unless you have a Time Machine…
Don't go under your own narrative for that, if you want me to tell you all that's wrong with GT7, we can do it somewhere else. That guy is just baiting people and it seems hes out of any good arguments when he has to mention concord lmao
meanwhile GT7 series’ Highest-Grossing Title![]()
Weekly challenges...meanwhile, we have no proper events. Sure. Great Fomo! Can't be a FOMO mechanic if (to a high level of certainty) you know it's coming back.
The only FOMO mechanic left in GT7 in its current state is Invitations. Which suck.
Meanwhile other racing titles withdraw car rewards, cosmetic rewards, and even actual races if you don't do them within a specific window and with no guarantee, or even hint, that they're ever coming back.
Such a weird, weird criticism to level at GT7 when there's other, more valid ones.
Are 80% drawn from existing races, the other one is a custom race anyone can set up at any time, and they don't give any unique rewards that you'll otherwise miss out on.Weekly challenges
Every update adds 3-5 new races, permanently. They are not removed with the next update, or existing only for the "season".meanwhile, we have no proper events.
I mean, they added the ID.R which to this day still has zero races in world circuits that it can realistically both enter and win. The F3500 will get into the 900/950 PP series races and that's probably about it.What are the odds that there will be no single players event designed for the new 90's F1 car?
Getting Mercedes W196 vibes all over again
This game has to evolve in terms of events. Are 80% drawn from existing races, the other one is a custom race anyone can set up at any time, and they don't give any unique rewards that you'll otherwise miss out on.

Do you play the game at all?
None of that is relevant to your "FOMO" claim, which I was refuting. I don't really care about any of this post-rationalisation.This game has to evolve in terms of events.
Special events of weeklies show it's potential, yet forever burying them under is just nonsensical
3-5 Races worth of 30 minutes of content on monthly basis. It's quite sad, like tell me if you are not bored with them or doing them for the sake of hitting 100% of completed races, because I would and it would be a sad reason to finish all of this monthly drip.
GT5-6 was more creative with their seasonal events. We're going downwards and it hurts.

Seems like that R32 is from Fast 7.Just went to the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale. AMAZING. Awesome seeing cars that are in GT7View attachment 1422924
Not sure but the R33 and R34 were flippin’ awesomeSeems like that R32 is from Fast 7.
Ughhh the R33 is the best looking one hereNot sure but the R33 and R34 were flippin’ awesome
What the hell? We literally had an update with jimny and 2 vgt cars and now an update with freaking F1 car is somehow the worst one. Doom posting is getting out of hand.Pretty heavy contender for being the worst update in GT7 yet, we'll have to wait to see if there's a new track (which probably won't have).
Hopefully this doesn't become the new standard, but if it does, I'll just hope that they're full steam into GT8 and don't have much time to focus on GT7 content![]()
Couldn’t agree more on the car history part, they could do so much more when it comes to implementing the history into the actual gameplay with the content they have on their hands, events or championships they could create with these cars and tracks. This is almost complete conjecture based on one data point on my part, but with the Civic silhouette coming today I'm starting to wonder if PD are thinking of moving towards more Forza Horizon/The Crew style "playlist"-based career events for GT8, rather than the current more static model where for most event types you can use the same car for the whole thing.
It'd make sense as to why they have been so focused on making sure the Civic/GT-R/Evo/911/TT etc lines are complete. If instead of, say, just having some Evolution Meeting races that take all the Evos, the intent is to have you go through the history, doing a race in the I-III, then a race in the IV-VI, then a race in the VII-IX, then a race in the X/Final. Maybe if it's joined up enough, winning that then rewards you with say an Evo rally car that you can use in the '90s part of a rally playlist, though that part might be wishful thinking on my part.
I could be super way off with this, but it makes sense in my head, and it'd be an improvement in terms of tying the game into car history (a big part of the series nowadays) than just having some text everyone skips through.
A different theory is that someone on the PD team has an affinity for kanjo racers (and Evo's)This is almost complete conjecture based on one data point on my part, but with the Civic silhouette coming today I'm starting to wonder if PD are thinking of moving towards more Forza Horizon/The Crew style "playlist"-based career events for GT8, rather than the current more static model where for most event types you can use the same car for the whole thing.
It’s in the lower spectrum of mediocre updates. EVs and crossovers are divisive, the formula is just a home-brewed PD creation and while the Civic is in line with GT conventions, it’s not really the most interesting JDM choice. Things could be worse, but this selection is not good.Yeah. Definitely one of the better updates.
That's a lot of personal opinions. If you try to be objective about it, this update broadens the scope of the car selection more than most. It’s in the lower spectrum of mediocre updates. The Jimny XC and Genesis VGT was one of my favourites actually (I refuse to count it as 2 VGTs because one of the was locked away for a full month), I hope for more VGTs just to weed out the ones who dislike free updates/find a way to complain about EVERYTHING, meanwhile I am able to find ways to enjoy the new carsWhat the hell? The mainstream appeal would be higher if it was a licensed and significant F1 car from that era. The generic formula cars have always come across as compromises, although they may appeal to a small niche who enjoys creating multiple liveries for the same car.The F1 car is a totally unique new option, licensed or not (generic formula cars are a staple of the series, but the pros and cons of that are an entirely different topic).
I think the AE86 was the first in that category. Why would the first car from a specific era and market in a specific segment even matter anyway? That’s an oddly specific measure of quality content. It’s like saying the Skoda VGT was a good addition because it was the first concept car from Czechia. Who cares. The Civic is pretty unique in being the first 80s JDM compact car in the game, unless I'm forgetting something.
“Reflection of the times” and “relevant nowadays”. That’s a big part of why they are bad additions. We live in ****** times with ****** trends. I’m not saying everything new in the automotive world is bad, but EVs and crossovers symbolize how the car industry is getting gradually more driven by political agendas and consumer needs for driving increasingly practical cars. Content like this makes GT feel like an advertizing platform for the manufacturers. I’m aware that the IONIQ 5 N has some enthusiast appeal, but not in the sense that most petrol heads are passionate about cars. The Toyota is of course not an interesting car in itself, but it fills the gap of "current everyday road cars" which this GT has very few of. The fact it's a crossover is a reflection of the times, like it or not.
The Hyundai is in a somewhat similar category - if you don't like EVs that's fine, but it's not Gran Turismos fault that they are relevant nowadays.
Not being able to use custom liveries in the W07 (in GT Sport) arguably reduced the car's appeal/interest.The mainstream appeal would be higher if it a was licenced and significant F1 car from that era. The generic formula cars have always come across as compromises, although they may appeal to a small niche who enjoys creating multiple liveries for the same car.
I remember it well.Race, sell the car, rinse and repeat. No long grinds to buy expensive cars.If one of the cars is indeed a Toyota C-HR, you can at least turn it into a newer version of everyone's favourite car to sell on GT4:
