At the end of the day, the lack of communication did not prevent them from delivering GT, GT2, GT3 and GT4. Sure that could be seen as an issue in our era, but that is definitely not the main problem.
Online makes them believe that's what players want which trophy completion says otherwise but it means no where near the effort goes into the one player game anymore.

You think their focus and efforts are towards Sport mode?!

That was when print ruled all, and places like this were fan sites.

PR is a totally different animal these days, and SIE (which has always been a bit bloaty on the marketing front) has not entirely adapted to it.

Their efforts (or at least their money) are towards organizing international meetings for e-sport players.
There's a difference between money and staff being deployed to host the GTWS Live events and the focus of the game development being Online/Sport Mode.
Following Sport mode pretty closely, I can tell you that (at least in my opinion) the organization process of the Online Seasons (and Daily races in general) has been pretty consistently low-effort, with combos and formats being recycled regularly and a... let's say, very relaxed quality of life implementation process (we're still dealing with some...interesting situations in the current Exhibition season).
Regular online multiplayer on the other hand, aside being pretty empty compared to past games, doesn't get updates since the pre-race weather radar has been added (I think it's almost a full year since that) with no major QOL update for Lobbies since 2022/early 2023...

If you were to ask me, I'd say their current focus of development is probably on adding the already scheduled stuff and work for the next title.
What's aggravating in my opinion is that it seemed that way ever since 2023 (except a couple standout updates like Spec II, which still didn't target online play)

It's a shame, hope the guy doesn't get in trouble. Our best look into the development of GT is still that old KAZ documentary released around GT6. It's pretty cool still.

Remember when there was a suggestion forum here on GTPlanet and PD was supposedly looking at it only to be shutdown later on. Ultimately this is Kaz's baby and as long as it continues selling well nobody dares to question his methods or decisions.

Well, when employed by most companies, in a contract that’s signed once officially hired, there are clauses that advise employees not to give information and especially not to speak on behalf of that company. Especially when not given permission. No doubt he got heat.

I wonder why there were no physics tweaks in the February update. The changes introduced in January made some cars behave really odd during cornering. With those changes many cars underwent a rather violent tendency to suddenly oversteer during cornering. It’s like they go from understeer to oversteer in an instant that almost sends them spiralling around their own axis. The strangest part is that it seems to affect many front-engined cars, as this trait is typically associated with MR or RR drivetrains.

Ever since the “new physics” in July 2024 it feels like PD has been fumbling to find a sweet spot for the physics. First car suspensions got weird, but that slowly got addressed over multiple subsequent updates. There’s still decent room for improvement in this area though. Then with the January 2025 update cars started to feel more stable under braking, but weight transfer got exaggerated overall. For example, a bone stock Mazda Roadster (ND) on sports hard tyres is a nightmare to drive through hairpins and tight turns with the most recent physics tweaks from January, but in reality the ND Roadster is celebrated for being easy and stable. That’s just one example.

One gets left with the impression that PD takes these physics adjustments too lightly. Global physics tweaks must affect different cars in different ways, right? The values originally assigned to each car were likely chosen to pair well with the global physics engine at the time. Then they tweak the global physics, and numerical values assigned to each car get thrown off course. The result is that some cars that once felt great suddenly start to misbehave, because PD seemingly doesn’t care to test every car when they come up with global physics changes. They appear to be chasing their own tail here. The irony is nothing needed fixing before July 2024, which was when cars started to jump into space as a result of the “new physics”. Their attempts to fix that then brought new problems to the table. They should never have touched the physics in the first place. Save that stuff for GT8 development.

Since the arrival of the Escort RS Cosworth, I've began to notice that the spokes of the OZ Leggenda wheel are placed way too deeper than on the actual wheel. Here's a car with it installed, for instance:

(V-Rally 2 Bonus Car (PS1 Ver.) by myself; version for non-widebody cars. For the widebody version, I placed another wheel instead.)

How the actual wheel looks from a comparable angle:

EDIT: Turns out this issue was already addressed here, though I am not sure if it had the same dish issue back in GT Sport.

The main problems were and is the lack of options & improvements from GT5 to GT7. Albeit GT5 can be improved with the GTEditor & GT6 can be improved with the Gt6 Spec II mode [or similar fan made versions].

They're not able to test physics changes on the whole car list.

I think PD needs to split the physics between road cars and race cars because they end up way over their heads

Yeah, I initially brought it up in February 2022. The teaser trailer of the F-150 made me think we’d be able to change the offset in regards to the lip of the wheels. Didn’t expect PD to change the style of certain wheels.
Some wheels that should have a deeper lip, when fitted to certain cars wind up being flush. It’s a pain in the exhaust.
