Gran Turismo 7 Livery Editor - General Discussion Thread

I have a question about liveries that has puzzled me for a long time.

On GT Sport there was a user called knac1015klos955 who had various Scapes pictures of Liveries that included photographic images mostly of music album covers. Here's an example

Does anyone have any clue how this could be possible given the 15kb SVG limitation?

I probably know the answer to my question already, but you never know... is there a way to get your GTS followers to see your creations in GT7? I had a nice amount of followers in GTS, and now I feel like I'm just creating liveries for the same 4 people who follow me on GT7... :D
Just gave your profile a follow - feel free to follow back! (Z4E_Midnight85)

One thing I find immensely confusing about the profiles, followers, and likes on the current GT7 system is scapes pics. I spend loads of time coming up with what I think are the best scapes and replay pics I can take, share them, and get 0 likes, 0 comments, 0 reposts. I share a style and it get 73 likes, 4 comments and 12 reposts... ?? Is there a scape or replay pic boycott going on or am I just doing it wrong? I mean, I see some pics get 100's of likes, and sometimes I can't work out why...

Yeah same, the scape pic gets 0 - 0 - 0 and the livery gets maybe 4 - 1 - 2

But then my Paul Smith 356 Art car (which is basically just horizontal stripes) is at 49 likes, so it's completely random.

If there's one stat I'd like to see for shared liveries/decals it would be the number of times other players have added it to their collections. And maybe a "view" counter, though that's more relevant to photos and replays. I know I'm guilty of just clipping decals from the showcase and not going back to like/repost/follow/whatever, and I wouldn't be surprised if most players are in the same boat.

Also count me in on the confusion of how certain things gain traction and others don't. I think the showcase could be better curated if PD implemented some recommended search terms, like ones relevant to your current car (i.e. make, model, era, racing class, etc.) or perhaps some that are commonly used for designs (replica, custom, anime, etc.). As it is it's tough to come up with search tags that are both relevant to what I'm making and what people would actually search for; honestly, GT7's community content curation in general feels like it could be a lot better.

The whole 'Trending' and 'Recommended' part is completely broken. Even the search function just random shows liveries instead of popular ones.

But I just followed some gtp members, doing my part haha. But the whole SHARE AND LIKE PLEASE is something that goes way over my head.

My most liked livery is a disgusting Ferrari that is a terrible hodge podge of a design that just has Ferrari F1 sponsors on it........

Some of my personal favourites have no likes at all.

On topic of sharing content: one thing that I thought it was really neat on GTS is how I had easy access to any kind of content. If I wanted to see liveries, race photos, scapes, suit or helmets, everything was inside that "discovery" tab. Everything in one place.

GT7 is slighty different because although they're all inside the "Showcase" menu, you need to click on the middle tab to see the different options. In GTS was more "user-friendly", since each category was already on the left panel and each of them even had a different color.

In GTS, content were always sorted as new by default and that gave us a chance to show content for anyone browsing through.

In GT7, as soon as you enter Showcase, everything you see is already trending, so there's no much reason for a person to browser photos or liveries, unless that person needs something especific. I think that's why we don't see many people browsing the race photos or scapes, because the ones with highest views are already on the "main" page.

Well, back on liveries! Question: it's still possible to port GTS liveries? I didn't shared some of my liveries because I thought it would be easy and fast to recreate them in GT7. Let's just say that's not the case anymore. :P

If you logon to GTS, you can share the liveries to make them available in GT7 (worked two weeks ago)

Yeah it should still work. Afaik it even is an instant port, so if you share it in GTS you should immediately be able to get it into GT7.
Yep, did this as recent as about a week ago. Just remember you have to share it to everybody. If you share to friends only, it won't show up in GT7. Which is weird. Am I not my bestest friend? :dopey:

Oh, and it is an immediate transfer.

I only get what’s available in the showroom.
I thought you might've found them already :D I've seen a few liveries with them already but it seems like nobody shared them yet :(

Guess I'll have to rework the 2020/2021 ones I have, not too much effort luckily

Yeah, I only Collect. If I had the skill to create them, I’d be all over it.
