Singer DLS showed up in the Gran Turismo lyrics video posted on the official playstation YouTube channel. It's not gameplay but as they are using a 3d model and it's technically official GT media it sure would be weird if it didn't show up in the game. Also present is a widebody Hakosuka.

Yeah but this isn't just a random music video? It's official GT7 media posted on PlayStation's YouTube channel. If it was real footage or photos? Sure. If it was on the band's media rather on PlayStation's sure. If it was an actual music video rather than a "Gran Turismo 7 lyric video" sure. I'll say this isn't exactly official confirmation but it is very suggestive.

Video is not produced by PD, and these models don't have any badges on them. And the model quality is not compared to PD standards. I don't think they will appear in the game.

"it sure would be weird if it didn't show up in the game"

"they’re definitely not showing up in game"

It’s plausible if they add it, it’s plausible if they don’t.

Well the cars might but these definitely aren't their 3d models if they do show up. And the Hakosuka widebody certainly won't since it's a custom design by some guy on 3d warehouse, I doubt Polyphony would see something like that and license it from them and then completely remodel it for their standards. Most likely the video is just random 3d car models that were cheap on 3d warehouse and if any of them do show up in the future it's a coincidence.

I was initially overeager and reaching for stuff that clearly wasn't there. Bit weird to use 3d models of cars that aren't in the game for a piece of official media but eh I guess that happens when you outsource marketing material and have a tight deadline.

Is the car branded? Are any trademarks shown? If not, it could simply be a case of an artist picking a car that looks cool and it has nothing to do with being in the game.

Edit: And excuse me but is Nothing but Thieves some sort of Queens of the Stone Age cover band or something? What year is it?

There are no trademarked logos in the video. I assume choosing that car model was just an artistic decision, and the animation doesn't actually have any official GT material in it.

You think so? I don’t.

What about all real life events, like the one recently in Singapore. The cars used doesn’t have to be in the game, as showed many times for other events.

When Børning was a big thing in Norway, many local car owners was asked by cinemas to park their cool/unique car outside to be a part of the marketing.
I almost did too, as I has a 260Z back then(during Børning 2). No Z was in the movie.

As long as content relevant to what you’re marketing is shown, it’s all good.
Didn’t the Copperbox event have cars outside not present in GT Sport or do I remember wrong? It’s early in the morning and I’m tired.

Clearly just 'car related' for the music video rather than anything actually GT specific.

I'm aware the music video is for GT but that's not the same thing.

Hi noticed still no lotus in the car list..why are they not supported by GT games anymore 😥
If I recall correctly, I think it's because Lotus saw what money PD was offering to other brands for licensing rights and believes they're not getting their fair share. Polyphony Digital though isn't wanting to spend more on what Lotus thinks they deserve, thus why Lotus has been gone.

I fear that Lotus might not ever return to Gran Turismo.🙁

And this probably wouldn't be a problem if their paychecks weren't being cut by Geely. Rather than a British company making sports cars for the sake of making sports cars and taking whatever license money they can get to put them in a game, we've got a billion dollar corporation making sports cars that nobody asked for with a name that everybody used to love and refusing to get paid at all because "they know what they've got" or whatever. To Geely, the money is more important than the image or the product.

It's been nearly 3 years man...
And? Time doesn't mean a whole lot in Gran Turismo land, usually takes a while for Sema cars to appear and such. If there's contract negotiations and monetary issues to sort, that all takes time, the tweet shows that Lotus still want to be a part of Gran Turismo, not that things were being signed at that time.

Given that money seemed to be the biggest issue if I recall, it will take time to get everything set for both parties to be happy. We know PD have Lotus models ready to go so I'm sure we'll see them in GT7 post launch.

This isn't the place to discuss this anyway.

I have a question (not sure if this is the place...) but there was a honda civic i think the spoon edition but i'm not sure that after tuning made like 17.000 or 19.000 rpm (thats whats in my mind anyway...) (more than a F1 car at that time) does somebody know the exact type so i can check if it will be in GT7?

Yep, several - including the Lotus 3-Eleven which was not only not in the game because of Lotus withdrawing but not even one of the cars from Lotus that was set to be there in the first place.
Very very minor but the Mercedes S Barker Tourer 1929 should be highlighted in purple.
That's... odd. It always was. Perhaps its color tags have been swept away by an error upstream.
Just for Information, the Autobianchi A112 Abarth it's not the same from GT4, the GT7 one it's the "Settima Serie" from 1984 and not the "Sesta Serie" from 1979. So it's a new car for the series.
The list does say it's the 1984 car, and it's included as a new car in the Here's Every New Car Coming to GT7 article:

You are correct in both cases. It was the Spoon, and this is not the place to ask because it's not a car that has been seen in official GT7 media - as the enormous text in the first post makes clear.
