allowing all 4 systems to take part in the same online race?
The online Sport races are separated by the system, ps5 drivers play against ps5 and likewise for the PS4 players. Only in lobby races you can have both systems playing together.

Well, added info, but still: how would the Pro have different physics than the rest of the available systems?
(Admitted, some say the previous update broke something on PS5 that still worked fine on PS4).
But there is no "PS5Pro only", everything PS5 is PS5 or adds a Pro enhanced performance/quality mode for visuals only.

It’s still a can of worms and most likely the devs stay well clear of platform dependent physics, to reduce cost and risk of introducing unwanted behaviours/bugs

To be more clear in my first post above, the reason why in Sport that the platforms are separated is mainly playability, when in lobby races, if you are on a ps4, you will see the ps5 player cars "jumping" side to side especially in turns, I was told is same like behavior on ps5 watching ps4 driver cars.
This type of unwanted movements are a big hindrance to the online Sport races and is why the platforms are separated.

This can still happen on the same console (PS4 to PS4, PS5 to PS5) due to poor Internet connections and P2P lobbys.

It is also possible for different consoles to be in lobbys together, I'm not sure if this is just by joining a friends lobby though or whether they actually appear in the normal lobby list.

AMG VC was ran through lobbys and everyone was running a mix of consoles.

Hi there, something weird I just noticed today, can't remember if it was like this before, I did a custom race today with monotype SF23. I remember GR3 and SF23 always start with Hard compounds but today all SF23 today started with SOFT TYRES (I bought 10 SF23 to clone F1 24 season with proper liveries). Also they run the full stint until all tyres goes flat (totally red) .... only when the tyres are dead they go to pit for change to soft tyres again... Was it like this before ? or is it something related with the change of the physic ? It such a pity. I read some tweaks somewhere in this forum to tweak cars following teams performance, and this soft compound just broke the balance with me and the grid so that makes my win more predictable since they run so slowly for 6 laps since the tyres are dead. Any thoughts ? I can't wait Sophy with a smart strategy regarding gaz and tyres. Then later today I did again the same custom race, and two cars used Hard compounds when the other used soft. I am lost. how can we explained this ?
