Anyone else notice the description for exhaust upgrades in the Tunning section, “It also gives it a purer sound” makes me wonder if PD have developed different sounds depending on Exhausts for each car, more aggressive sounding or quieter etc deepening on what you choose. Hopefully they have anyways, I’d like to see them implement what Need for speed Heat does by allowing you to customise the sound from the exhaust.

You touch a thing I always want in this game, as real, just an upgrade of the base exhaust sound, at least to the sport exhaust.

Glad to see someone managed to find a source confirming the livery editor will appear in GT7.

I hope this time around Polyphony Digital increases the size limit for SVG files for GT7 to make it easier to make complex decals without having to crop pieces of the decal into separate files.

Or the possibility to add different effects to each decals during livery creation (chrome, mat, etc...).

With PS5, is it possible to have a "circuit editor". I'm thinking at GT6, so...

I think Gran Turismo will always be the best looking racing sim on PlayStation because it's the only one specifically built and optimized for the console. Maybe the start of the new console life-cycle will be closer to current PCs but the gap will widen again eventually.

IMO the best looking is more about optimization talent and talent+art direction : Mr. Kaz Yamauchi and PD achievements.

The question is, this time PD did something about the GR.X class?

the 917K is a GR.X i guess, but they race against GR.3 cars in the trailer.

Here's the menu music, not sure if it's put specifically for the trailer or it will feature on the full game

Personally I preferred the lounge music from GT5 thru Sport, or classic Isamu Ohira tunes from older GTs that fits the nostalgic world map UI better than a rock song for menus, but I won't pass my judgement till I see the full soundtrack list

@SuperKlonoaGT it looks like we were wrong.

That menu man... That freaking menu screams nostalgia.

I know right. Love the updated look.
I hope the camera will pan a little to the side when drifting. It didn’t in GT Sport and was so weird looking.
The game looked as good as I hoped. Do you think the car count will get up to over 1,000 like it did in GT6? I hope used cars make a return to the game à well. GT7 was my only reason to get a PS5 at launch.

i knew that all along from the start... not sure why it has been so hard to see it, i am surprised some of you are still surprised....

The short car list gave that away when it released. Lol. Even though they added car the list was nowhere near the size of GT6’s. GT6, the good ol days.

The much harder pill to swallow is to see GTS as a full blown GT game... inconceivable...

When they show the Corvette concept car you can also see the 3 generations of Corvette already in GT Sport in the same building/room. I wonder if that is is just for the trailer or if it signifies a showroom with multiple cars in it approach?

BTW, you can see this in the screens posted in the main page reveal story on this site very clearly.

Hard pill to swallow but I'm not sure why anyone thinks otherwise.

Maybe GTS is not a "prologue" because previous GT Prologues had only 5 tracks and 30 cars instead of 29 tracks and 340 cars...

Half or a tiers of them new for the series...

A brand new raytracing system in the series for GT7...

This I don't call it a prologue. It has a lot more offline and online content than many others games.

It’s funny how I didn’t think much had changed before I saw the comparison. Now I’m impressed

They didn't show enough for me to get excited. Sure the graphics were better, but it looked like GT: sport in terms of immersion. The zoomed in FOV and lack of head movement kept me at bay. After playing Project Cars 2, the immersion factor has really spoiled me, in this regard. Hopefully PD will add these as options.

I've read the whole thread and surprised to see only myself and two others bring up VR

I'm amazed at this. Racing in VR is a game changer, even if GT Sport VR was a souped up tech demo at best.

It's a system seller for me, no VR in GT7, no PS5, I'll stick to beautiful VR racing on PC

Lots of love x

Does anyone think there is any chance that this is a day one launch title? It would be a first in the history of Gran Turismo

Absolutely no chance, it's the only game that has kept me waiting and waiting and waiting over the years on PS

Same game engine running the same physics, in what world?
That's the same engine as the GTS, but that doesn't mean much considering that many teams reuse their improved engine for sequels, even on new generation platforms.
For physics I think there is nothing to make any assumptions.

Actual PSVR compatibility is already confirmed for PS5, Yamauchi already said VR is very important for him in GT7, PS5 is powerful enough to enable 16 car races in VR. PSVR2 is in developpement for be released if everything goes ok in 2021...

I'm very excited to drive GT7 even with my PSVR1 with better rendering quality, raytracing ? , campaign mode in VR, online in VR... we will see this in next trailers. This is only the begining for nostalgic people, a lot of new content to come next months !!!

Hey guys, I'm willing to bet the Trial Mountain footage in The Mazda Vision is GT Sport gameplay. There are too many similar things such as the way the walls pop in, the exact same HUD, the dash shadows, identical AI behavior, and other current generation setbacks evident in that portion. It's almost like PD put it in last minute to satisfy the gameplay demand from the fans.

If that is GT7 gameplay for the last minute or so then Sony should be ashamed that with the power of the new PS5 SSD and ray tracing, that's the best PD can utilize it for actual gameplay. I'm almost certain both the 917 and Trial Mountain will be GT Sport content updates sometime through the year. I highly doubt there will be no new tracks for GT Sport until GT7 comes out. I also believe everything they showed before the Trial Mountain gameplay was GT7 footage. That portion looked incredible BTW!!!

In terms of graphics, please keep in mind...
1. The game likely isn't coming out any time soon (prob holiday 2021 or later). Still time for things to improve. (I would be happy to be proven wrong on the date though)
2. The PS5 isn't some wizard gaming box that can somehow produce higher fidelity visuals than a $3000 gaming PC.
3. Adding to that, if Kaz is targeting native 4K/60fps or 1440p upscaled >60fps (120fps pls), then the game is simply not going to be "perfect" graphically. Add in dynamic TOD and weather and you can be damn sure that will be the case. (PC2 takes at least a RTX2080 to run 4K/60+ max settings rain/sunset full grid etc).
4, IMO, it's little details like a changing track surface, debris, smudge on the windshield, things that shed the signature GT "clinical" look and add genuine realism that need more attention.
5. If you want your "dream" vision of GT7 you better hope there is a PC version down the road and you have >$2000 laying around.

People need to be realistic with their expectations.

Oh and 6. ... the game still looks pretty damn good.
So good to read comments like yours! 👍
Keeps me grounded when I was flying high.
But better be surprised than disappointed, right?!
