Some very nice additions here. Not sure what I'm more excited by, Sophy (didn't have the game when the trial was added), the addition of weekly challenges or the Paddocks mode. Not too fussed about the track, although if it means the addition of snow as a weather option in the future then I'm all for it.

One thing we now know, whatever your thoughts on the content itself, is that if Nenkai and Kaz claim an update is big, they mean what they say.

It'll be fun to race against Sophy AI for sure, but I'm still holding out hope for some 1:1 driving school with Sophy where it can analyze how you drive and how your line is and help you improve with some back and forth texting/chatting like ChatGPT #daretodream

Of course it's useless when it's only implemented in an insignificant part of the game, not where it matters.
PD lacking sense of game development as usual.
I imagine this is more of a case of them just needing to give the AI more time to learn more tracks and cars. If they are using AI learning like stuff I've seen, then it literally has to run a course thousands or 10s of thousands of time etc etc, maybe even per car, for it to learn. This could just mean in the amount of time that has passed since they kinda got Sophy mostly working, its been able to learn this much.

Perhaps in upcoming updates, maybe every month or a 6 or 12 month update, they'll add additional tracks/cars or all of them.

The real question is whether they are able to actually implement Sophy with the standard "career"/single player events with GT7 or is that something so deeply complicated in the game code that it'll have to wait until GT8 and be designed/coded from the start for it.

Per the Playstation Blog post, it's a mix of new events and existing ones at different tracks, and it's also a lot more than the 7 races mentioned in the gran-turismo.com post:

The WTC900 and X2019 Nations Cup events are brand-new events (and presumably new Menu Books), while the other races are expansions of existing events.
That's a decent amount of content.

I will admit I chuckled a bit seeing there's a chili race... at Route X.

What would the update needed to have had to make you feel excited? Genuinely interested.

Nvm I didn't read right. You can make your own endurance races, but you can't make your own super strong AI.
If you have the PS5, those endurance races can include Sophy.

Er, strike that - I mixed up Arcade/Quick Race with Custom Race.

I hope Sophy has ALOT of patience, as she will have her work cut out with me.

Hopefully, with the new dashboard, there will be numeric DR and SR ratings again like in GT Sport instead of the bar, so we can have proper statistics again and get proper math about the ups and downs.

Sounds like PD has prepared a big update for us.
New track is always nice, even if I'm suprised that it's a snow rally one, because I never felt like rally was that popular in any of the GT games due to the physics.
Hopefully with the release of "Spec II" PD will start to bring in new tracks more regularly with updates.

No shade to you. It does like funny 🤣. I just saw another of videos saying GT7 was finished so I got triggered unnecessarily by the new video. So don't feel bad about posting it. How are you to know it was gonna bother some random person (me) on the Internet?
I wasn’t to know indeed, but I should’ve considered who might’ve been upset or disgruntled by it. In any case, hope you enjoy the update when it drops, and have fun riding the excitement into tomorrow 😊

I've talked about this before with some people on FB that they could do something like a new game+ all the events reset but you still have your credits, cars, and Licenses but all the events have Sophy AI, Maybe finally add the ability to qualify and not have it as a last to first chase.

Also since the beginning Kaz had discussed the plans for endurance races in the future and 2 years later the longest events are only an hour long. My guess they are working on getting Sophy AI to some sort of B-spec capabilities, One of the tracks was shown to have sophy AI was Le Mans, Could that mean they added le mans to the demo of the AI so they can record our driving data and make it into the 24hrs of le mans?

Its just a thought but I called it that Sophy will be implemented in this game not fully but its a start in the right direction!

Also, I just noticed the 400R is 1995, not 1996 - does that make it the "Preceding Model" that was only in GT2? Would steal the "longest absence for a return" crown from the R32 Nismo if it is.
