Tried all the new settings and I’m sticking with resolution mode with 120hz on. If my tv VRR stats isn’t lying to me the game runs at 1440p and doesn’t drop below 90fps.

After a fantastic ride in Sardegna 800pp with my new love RS5, I still go back to Le Mans with a 959 because I still need money , at the end of the 3rd lap it's raining on the radar, I go into the pit and put on rain tires but the rain decides it won't rain, I don't even know how I drove that lap myself because the tires wore out immediately, mostly it seems that from now on the strategy is to drive on dry tires so whoever survives will talk.
Yeah that frustrated me today, happened to me too, it’s ain’t possible to start the race with Intermediates anymore, they are completely worn out before even the first drop of rain hits the ground. Is that realistic?

..So I did a few tests with the 120hz and VRR. The quality is downgraded somehow, although not significantly, however this downgrade seems to be good enough so that I don't get any stuttering on the chilli daytona race. When switching back to 60Hz it's still choppy as hell.. :/ And although a bit out of context for this thread, does anyone else face performance issues on this particular race?

Can anyone with PSVR2 share their experience on ghosting, performance, etc?

My PS5 drops frames/stutters very noticeably, just trying to run 4k/60, I can’t imagine 120h working out so well. That’s why I’ve as o skeptical about the PSVR2 before launch, but the eye tracking it was saves it apparently.
I spent a few minutes with the game and it works a lot better than I thought! Menu navigation and scrolling through the garage thumbnails is smoother. Even the “prioritize ray tracing” mode is smoother (higher than 30fps) in the replays which I was surprised by. They seem to have dropped the resolution to achieve it, not sure if it’s dynamic or not but you can see the cars in the garage view have more jagged edges in the 120hz mode. Not that noticeable to me specially during game play. It seems like a fair trade off and how I’ll be playing the game.

Can't wait to make my custom Mazda 3 gr4
Coolest thing PD did was to add the rear wing from the Mazda Spirit Racing Mazda3 BioDiesel Concept from Super Taikyu ST-Q. We don't quite have the widebody overfenders, but the dang thing is a beautiful car to steer.

Ah, the one with (as strange as it might sound) more downforce.

Guess I'll just slap the larger wing on my RC F and do the ultimate test myself. Why? Because I want to know if the GT500 cars should all be fitted with the larger wing - for BOP reasons - when put together with the RS5 into a custom race.
It is an FDD element in fluid dynamics language. You've guessed right...a Fart Diverting Device.
Whatever it does to the car, it helps to really, joyfully kick ass to all of the fastest cars wherever you go. And if you put turbos in it, it becomes...an unfair advantage.

I’m digging the new handling.

A few notes:

1. PD needs to give us more cockpit view options. I want to use the cockpit view but its so disadvantageous and not fun.

2. The SF still drives like a toy or a cheat code. It’s almost like the tomahawk.

3. I can’t believe PD missed the opportunity to model the driver changing the brake bias in the RS5.

Is a bit slower than others custom gr4, I have to reduce weight to 1150kg to be competitive with 1400kg cars at same power

Sadly this update has done nothing to quell my niggling doubts about Kaz's continued leadership of PD.

While the update has "fixed" some of the more bizarre aspects of vehicle handling I suspect they've achieved this by largely reverting wholesale back to the physics engine of GT Sport in addition to almost certainly reverting back to GT Sport BoP settings. However, to make matters worse a combination of changes to the tyre model (more under and oversteer!) and the algorithm for controller steering (much slower) has generally made lap times slower than even GT Sport!

Gr.3 WRX. BoP on, no tuning, RS tyres, ABS on, auto gears, no assists. Also, DS4 with right stick throttle/brake and cockpit view:
GT SportGT 7 (1.30)GT 7 (1.31)
Nurb Nord6:286:246:33*
Alsace Village1:491:481:51
Mount Panorama2:001:592:01
* Top speeds along certain fast sections where tyre grip, downforce and steering sensitivity make no difference, completely align with GT Sport, hence why I believe PD have gone back to GT Sports BoP.

Gr.3 Mustang. BoP on, no tuning, RS tyres, ABS on, no assists. Also, DS4 with right stick throttle/brake and cockpit view:
GT SportGT 7 (1.30)GT 7 (1.31)
Tokyo Expressway - South CounterclockwiseN/A*1:531:56
Deep ForestN/A**1:241:26
* I used to run the Gr.3 Lambo here but switched to the Mustang so don't have a comparable time.
** for obvious reasons.

This wholesale change suggests, to me at least, that there was something fundamentally wrong with the physics engine up to 1.30. In fact, I would go as far as to say there was definitely something fundamentally wrong with the physics engine on account of the sheer amount of people I saw completely ignoring apexes by going into a corner way deep, turning as sharply as possible, powering out of the corner and still pulling away!

Thank you for being the one intelligent life form in this thread, your description is exactly right and I couldn't be more disappointed. Unfortunately I am not hopeful that they will listen to the competent minority and will instead cater to the lowest common denominator and produce a silly game from it

The Alphard is absolutely hilarious and I love it. Strangely enough, it actually drives alright and survived the Nurburgring without too much trouble. But all the cars are great and the changes to the physics make things a lot better. We may not have received a new track but this update is still a really good one.

I think they need to update their radar and HUD. Assetto Corsa Competizione radar is much much better. And I have an even better idea to get all that friggin junk off the screen when in cockpit view. Just make radar a 1-2” glowing line on the edge of the screen. Yellow somebody’s close, orange theyre closer, red you’re about to trade paint.

project cars had a look to apex which was nice and gt7 could benefit from that option.

Spent quite some time on the game tonight, loving this update for sure! FFB feels better on my DD Pro and I feel like there is more distinction between cars. For example, the Alphard had lighter steering, like it should.

My only complaint so far, is that PD seems to have change the linearity of the throttle input back to something similar as it was in GT Sport. Now the majority of the input happens in the ca. last 25% of the pedal travel, making it harder to modulate the throttle out of corners.

Really hope this will be changed back, see absolutely no reason for this.

Man The 120Hz and the 959 has to be my favorite thing about the update! The game is so silky smooth… it’s amazing! Just going through the game options and different aspects is just a pleasure… watching the different screens and videos when the controller is idle is beautiful. The 959 looks so good in VR better than what I was expecting and drives like beauty!

Try rt mode 120hz if you have vrr, looks almost same and run defenitly smoother
Yea, on the console you will need to prioritize resolution and on the in game settings on the display setting select the ray tracing option, make sure vrr is on and I do have my monitor vsync on dunno if that helps
